@CocacolaCowboy1919 You're absolutely right CocacolaCowby The Bakersfield sound was a genre of country music developed in the mid- to late 1950s in and around Bakersfield, California Bakersfield country was a reaction against the slickly produced, string orchestra-laden Nashville sound, which was becoming popular in the late 1950s. Buck Owens and the Buckaroos and Merle Haggard and the Strangers are the most successful artists of the original Bakersfield sound era.[1]
Isn't that Flaco Jimenez on accordion? Whoever is playing on this song are really good musicians. Thank you for givin' us the chance to listen to this great duet.
Dwight knows how to deliver with a punch.. its no surprise before he made it big he was playing for punk rockers in los angeles. it kicks like a mual.
Excellent tune ..wish Dwight and Buck would have done more , I gre up listening to Buck ... playing his tunes on stage and grew to Like Dwight that we also did his tunes on stage ,, I imitated Dwight .. but only vocally .. that spin around sent me falling lol
Too bad they didn't show some actual sights of Bakersfield in the video. Buck Owens never had a daughter. The girl in the video appears to be a hispanic Bakersfield resident, not his daughter. Owens had two sons with his first wife: Alan Edgar “Buddy” Owens, a country singer himself who used the stage name Buddy Alan, and Michael Lynn Owens; and one son with his second wife: Johnny Dale Owens.
@ganthonyvr somebody posted on here that it was his daughter but I'm not sure wikipedia doesn't say anything about him having a half mexican daughter. Not saying he doesn't just saying I don't know.
@ryannath2003 Yes I know what you meant, and that is why I replied...then YOU flipped it around. Now back to the original discussion, I see "Regular white non- indigenous" girls like that all the time. Not every "regular non indigenous white persons" are pale and blonde. She looks like a "regular non indegenous white" girl that happens to be a little tan with brown hair.
@ganthonyvr that is not his daughter My dad use to work on his property as a security guard he was a real nice person and a very down home person and He never spoke of his daughter just his son
@FlamesSuck44 actually I copied the video from someone else (don't even remember who it was now) the audio was terrible so I replaced it with an mp3 file I had downloaded. The only problem was getting the video in sync with the music it's not perfect but close enough for youtube. I'm really surprised no one has slammed me for that yet. Maybe that's what the 2 thumbs down are for. haha
Just watched this video and wow, I was 6 years old again dancing to this in front of my television set in Texas. I live for these old country songs! It's like traveling back in time for me. <3
Truly some of the best work ever from the country and western genre. It is such a rarity these days to hear a true Country song. Not popular amongst my friends, but hey, at 16 and in England, what can you expect? LONG LIVE COUNTRY AND WESTERN!

I guess they are still the ledgends and giants of this art form, but they aints -a-gettin played on todays "modern country hit" stations. Those stations should all go out of biz. Like tomorrow.
I love this song and this video that they showed on TV at the time it came out.
I only wish someone on Youtube wouldve captured the very end of it. The part where Dwight and Buck are sitting on the cadillac with longhorn horns on the front.. In LA, I lived near the western clothing store, in which, that car was always parked out front. Dwight and Buck--Just great ! Thanks for posting this.
