  • Great vid

Not often Londoner s see this sort of snow fall great to record it

  • Hopefully the same this year,i live in the east and it snowed for like 2 days straight and it was wonderful ;d

  • weather warning for snow early this year even in october because the berrys have come early :D

  • I live in shitty Cyprus where you barely get real snow in our only mountain "range" Troodos and believe it or not I've never had a snowball fight..;/ If it snows this year when I move to the UK I act like a child.

  • i never seen snowing in real life ... LOL

  • @2reasons4belive thats a lill sad

  • @Thommaus yes , its really sad...

  • woow , thats beautifull....

  • some people need to remember that london is one of the warmest and driest places in the uk! this wouldnt be classed as a lot of snow up north (we had 6 ft drifts surrounding our house in queensbury last november) but i guess thats quite a lot for london :)

  • i got 2 feet on christmas, 1.5 a week ago and alot of other snow... jersey is getting pounded

  • Mt Washington USA 1098 inches in 1 year of snow it's the world record

  • A lot of snow to me, 3CM I usually get but this year we got about a foot of snow! and We had lying snow on Xmas day! But I would really like an official white Christmas I live in North Wales... I wish we had all that snow in Febuary 2009 When I came over us it started heavyish for about an hour it snowed really heavy and proper dry stuff to by then we had had around 10cm of snow but as the night went on the snow just kept getting wetter untill in the end it rained... :(

  • For those that may think that this isn't much, you have to remember that London is a large, densely populated city - which, in comparison to surrounding areas is fairly warm. Also, more generally as a country, we are a very mild place and rarely do we see heavy dumps of snow anywhere except over higher ground... like the Cairngorms in Scotland and/or the Lake District or the downs in England. Although, saying that - it was pretty pathetic how London ground to a hault - we had a foot up north!

  • SNOW! I love that.

  • very beautiful indeed

  • By that point, we'd had that kind of weather *every day* for 6 weeks (central belt, Scotland).

  • 'Tis but a light scattering.

  • lol in scotland (where i live) there was like fukin 44 inches of snow in 2009!

  • @IamCreature1 And Americans, Canadians, Russians, Norweigians would all laugh at you for thinking 44 inches a lot. Where do you draw the line at what is a lot and what is not?

This is a fucking lot for London. I think everyone is aware it isn't Scotland and I think everyone is aware that Scotland is colder.

  • 2 and a half feet is only 30inches of snow but they way the wind was blowing everything all over the place it looked like we got 5 feet

  • @sp69jt haha same, wheres tha from? well we had 1 and a half feet level and 6-7 feet drifts in fields. :D

  • u think that is bad then you've never been to scotland in winter, thats nothin to us

  • lmao .. heavy snow for the millions of immigrants and the half cast maybe .

  • whats this song?

  • Nice theme by Johann Pachelbel ' canon

  • checkout my vids........

  • fuck fucky, i loved there then moved around november to USA 2009 then i heard it snows like hell

  • I can't remember the last winter that we didn't get 10+ inches in a snowstorm. (Wisconsin)

  • -12 in glasgow this year!!!

  • i got 7 feet in mammoth mountain, ca beet that bitches.♥♥♥♥♥

  • tool

  • 6.5 feet in philadelphia this winter so far

  • Has the snow melted yet - - my uncle has business in Alexandra, near DC and apparently you had more snow than the ski slopes of winter olympics!

  • Try the 2010 snowfall.

  • in sheffield this winter we had around 10 inches

  • this is london mate one of the most active citys on the planet :P more snow this year tho

  • 30cm LMAOROFL we have 2 and a half feet of snow beat that!!!!!

  • how much is 2 and half feet ?

  • 75cm. or 30inches. its alot, up to ya mid thighs.

  • how can the UK beat 2.5ft ya fool? its not a competition. its about global positioning, if we could move the country north then maybe. a foot of snow is a shitload in 1 storm for the UK.

when we do get snow its rare to get an amount that causes major problems, thats why the authorities dont waste money to prepare for it every year, theres no point.

when it does happen the country cant cope with it and comes to a standstill. its rare tho.

  • 4 feet in queensbury, west yorkshire BIATCH! :)

  • LOL! i live in Harpenden and we only get 15 cm, but when i was in brighton, in 2008 it fall 30 cm Snow! thats cool.

But in Harpenden The coolest temperature it was -7, and in brighton dont know!

  • In the UK, I suppose on average any city will get about 4-8" per year, maybe slightly less, just North of London we only had about 1 big snowfall between 2001-2006, but in the last 12 months, we've had at least 3 big falls of +6".

When I went to the Alps a few years ago, you could get an extra inch by the time you got to the top of the ski lift.

  • the reason we cant cope is we have a government who gives all their money to the eu and foreign aid so no money left for salt hehehe labour muppets

  • leicester had about 4 inches, but everything carried on as normal for me, work and all, but nothing like when i was a kid, used to get a foot plus of snow,

  • If the fucking British lived in Switzerland they would be in bed all day and every day. They can't cope with fuck all.

  • Did you see Washington DC grind to a halt with snow?

  • @SonicGeneration Yes! My god!!

  • @SonicGeneration london is always ground to a hault!

  • we just got 4 ft of snow in NY and NOTHING closed in my home town. this video is a normal winter day for us

  • really :o I live in South England and we Rarely get snow, If we even have 0.5cm of snow everything closes, schools ect. We had 1.5cm of snow though this year :D

  • same we got 4 feet in queensbury which is good for england

  • global warming...?

  • Doooode if if, if I had like a, a magic wand I'd turn it all into coke, shit like that would like like, like WHAT??? Ooozat!!!??? SHHH there's some one coming........

  • london,snow,heavy,2009

    very descrpitive.

  • I am on the verge of saying its "an ice age". Day after tommorow. This is an issue of global warming. 2012

  • lol go to parts of america and you'll find 8 feet of snow . not half a foot

  • We dont get much snow over here so for us its a lot.

  • snowing in preston really badly

  • London is so beautiful and can anyone tell me what is the name of the music in the video.

  • search on Canon

  • Didn't you get like 8 inches or something? At least by what the news people were talking about, it looked like the entire city was shut down. That was exactly what happened here in Cary, North Carolina. We got 9 inches on inauguration day and no one could get anywhere.

  • In Manchester, it's began to snow again!

  • it looks beautiful WHITE LONDON

  • makes a change

  • yer im from Liverpool, England which is one of the most mildest places in the UK and it snowed here which was about 2-4inchs are coldest temp i have see here where i am is around -7C (celsius) around 18F (Fahrenheit) and btw its probbly not even been that

  • I remember that day, no school, snowmen, snowfights, a lot of fun! I wonder what it's going to be like here in London in 2010!

  • There is much snow in Quebec! The bikes are completely buried.

  • Yea where's the environmentalists and crazy man climate change theory now.

After Copenhagen and seeing all this, they seem to be scattering like rats.

    Useless mob they are.

  • guys... just because it snowed, it doesn't mean that global warming is a myth. Global warming doesn't just cause warming- its simply causes more extreme weather patterns.

  • this is just ABSOLUTELY amazing,,,,thanks for the video !

  • snow in london is rare, let alone like this, we londoners have to enjoy every last moment of it^^

  • how cold is it about in london when you guys get snow?

  • not entirely sure, but it's FREEZING!!!!!!!

  • Honestly, here in London, it isn't as cold as you would expect. Once you get to the snow, it gets very cold, gloves are needed, and stuff. But not as cold as you would expect, not like -17c or anything. Though, it is freezing. But not really freezing. By the way, what country are YOU from?

  • it got down to -17c this year in london

  • What i don't understand is that, if England gets snow everything is a drama and roads get blocked and places come to a stand still. However, if you go to scotland you never get stand stills and blocked roads unless it's severe blizzads. England should get ready for these kind of things. If scotland can, England can too. It's not too far away!

  • No England likes the magical feeling that the world (or England) shuts down just because of the snow. Makes it feel so much better.

  • i couldn't have put it better myself^^

    that snow was glorious^^

  • No, that's what you like

  • ok fine its what i like but there are other people that agree....

  • Briiii-lliant! Best video i've watched on Snow.

  • i hope it snows again its fun

i hope it snows in outside london

  • I hope it snows, I know it won't but still :P

  • OMG!....snow!.....I thought with all this global warming London would be planting palm tees by now!....global warming is a joke!

  • so lovely and beautiful

funny me and my family left London for our house in Brisbane after a four month holiday 2 weeks befor this happened

  • i cant wait to come to england london my grandma lives there!

  • why does london license plate say the number only shouldn 't they have like london written on the car license plate e.g.new york empire state i dun get that ...........?

  • i love how snow can make a place look like heaven

first thing i did was grab my camera and start taking pics, lol i used up a whole film on my street area alone!

  • is it! yes!!! so we could see more snow like this!!!!!! hopefully on christmas day!!!!

  • You read my mind!

  • is it true that the uk is getting colder?

i thinks its because the gulf stream is slowing down really fast.

  • Not really, it was much colder and snowier in the 1980s. This kind of snowfall is expected every so often in London, there was just a big gap since the last one in 1991! Just a few dustings of an inch or two in between really.

  • yeah i know but back then was a time with low solar activity and those years had a low number of el ninos. both of these factors started picking up during the nineties causing higher temps. since the sun has entered a very quiet period i thing there is going to be a cooling trend in the next few decades.

  • That was beautiful, very exciting weather indeed.

  • 8" of snow in capital is quite a dumping and it is nice for those who haven't seen snow. When did London last see snow like that? Bear in mind the UK has Gulf stream or NAO. All we get are dustings or a couple cm but this is like a foot of snow in places. In Devon we have two dumpings of snow. On 2 Feb we had some powdery snow of 10cm's then 5 to 6th Feb we had up to 20cm - 25cm "8 -10" [wet snow]. Okehampton, Exmoor, Dartmoor saw 60cm or half a metre of snow - looked like an Alpine village!

  • Whats so unusual about snow in London? They had a foot of snow last April or have we all forgotten about that by now?

It isnt as rare as people are saying, its just that in recent years it has not been as often or as heavy.

Jesus, in victorian London they regularly got 4 or 5 feet of snow every bloody winter.

  • Jesus in Victorian London?? Not really is it? He hasn't travelled this far north or into the future.

  • Wow, global warming is so real! ( Being Sarcastic )

  • on that day i live in the mores and near my m8ts housewe live in the pennines and it was 6ft after all the snoww cz we built a mint snow cave and it was 2 - 3f on our street 8 inches is nothing 8 inches fell in 3 hours

  • Aye but this is very heavy for London. If you want to play that 'we get more snow than you'game, I live in a Glen in the Highlands of Scotland :P

  • You realise London wasn't the only place to get snow?

In fact, it got a lot less than my area (Yorkshire).

  • And that got less than Aviemore in the Highlands, and Dalwhinnie which saw nearly -20'C and Inverness which never went above -4'C for a week near Hogmanay, bla bla bla.

London looked beautiful in this very rare snow, can't see why we can't all accept that.

As one of the three world cities (alongside Tokyo and New York), a lot more people were watching London than Yorkshire.

  • The Best Video!!

  • "imagine cities in the usa and canada where this is so fuckig common"

EXACTLY you idiot, its common for you, this was the biggest snow storm for 50 years, some people in london have never even experienced snow before, veichles are NOT fitted with snow chains in the UK which makes driving very very hard, so please think before you post idiotic comments.

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah - It is all media hype rubbish - there was over a foot [30cm] of snow in some places and because this has been hyped up by the media to the wider-world it gives the opportunity for many other countries to have a dig at England - I tell you one thing for nothing and there are more embarassing things to have a dig at in our country than the snow! - We do not get much snow due to the Gulf - Stream if you know your Georgraphy! PS - nice theme by Pachelbels Canon in D

  • Nobody claimed... it's just unusual for some areas of London to get well over a foot of snow, which is why it made the headlines. Even a child can work that out but obviously you can't.

I have a question for you. You seem to hate the brits yet your profile says you are in the United Kingdom.

What nationality are you and why do you hate the Brits?

Why don't you do us a favour and leave the country, we only want happy folk in the UK, not miserable cunts like yourself.

    Thank you.

  • we also had a bigsnowfall here inmadrid this winter (like 20 cm) which isnt usual, coz we use to have like 5 cms when it snows here, so. u cant say englands r stupid because of complainig about having big snowfalls

  • de verdad?

  • jaja si!

  • You must realise that this is London...the most incredible city in the world...not some characterless and soulless US city that nobody gives a shit about.

The fact that we complain means our standards are just that little bit higher..

  • just light dustingwhen you have drifts that reach the second floor its heavy.

  • nice video....

  • Fantastic video. Many thanks from homesick expat in USA :)

  • Really heavy snow ROFLMAO. Seriously you can clean your cars easily, just takes 15 minutes (snow isn't some chemical compound that you can't touch).

PS. if some Brits might not know...you can have a lot of fun with your car and handbrake on empty parking lots (60kmh + turn + handbrake).

  • Yh and end up killing ur self or sum1 else!

  • If you don't know what you're doing then sure, but I mentioned an empty parking lot...also it's VERY hard to roll over your car on slippery surfaces

  • Yh and its VERY easy to spin it and smash into a wall!

  • The intention is to "spin it". Like I said, you need an empty large parking lot.

  • yeah if you havent figured out how to drive on it yet.

  • yea well u americans are gay talkers!

  • Heavey In Nothampton

  • really heavy here in oxford too

  • lovely snow lol come back so I can miss another 2 dayz of school XD

  • Beautiful! Enjoy it!

  • Excellent

  • North London Reporting here! - i usually love the snow but they shut uni so no singing and dancing for me for the whole week :( Total incompentance. Still well done to tfl for finally getting the transport working today and well done to everyone who came to the heath and helped me build my igloo :D

  • Really quite incredible when you consider the lack of snow in the last decade or so. I only got 2 inches here in bristol but it was enough to cover everything :)

  • dragonforce? wtf?

  • thats not dragonforce u idiot. THE SONGS CALLEd canon rock.

  • Nice Video!

  • Fucking just deal with it.
