  • @Blue2208 you gain power with an aftermarket pipe especially with that Vance n Hines cannon right there

  • whyd you put a pipe on ittttt?!?! lol you lose pwer

  • gee...'91 owned the same painted new one...bike was running like a hell...that was a good bike

  • they do got noisy clutches

  • iv had the exup valve taken off my 91 fzr 1000 because it didnt work and was killing the engine iv lost no power or performance and the bike feels better without it my bikes not had any changes in set up sounds great and goes better then ever love my fzr 1000

  • Its the EXUP valve making this noise.Ive owned 3 fzr1000s and they all make the same sound.I wouldnt remove the EXUP,the fucking around with jetting and losing a TON of low end isnt worth it.

  • thats deffenetly a bad cam chain

  • the engine doesent sound like crap, its the 20valves...sounds same as mine nice

  • dude the engine sounds like shit, also very smart move to rev it like that when its cold,

  • I found one just like this for sale.

    I'm going to buy it.

    Love it.

  • I have a 91 FZR600 for sale for $ 1700 .

  • Could certainly use a tune.

  • omg go home nub pfeiffe

  • Why does every FZR1000 on youtube sound like a dishwasher full of pots and pans? They didn't sound like that new.

  • They obviously need valve adjustment and other maintenance. Most of these FZR1000s on here are also 15+ years old.

  • i love the fzr! it looks better than most of today's bikes

  • wow this enigne run sounds badly... greetz

    mine is so smooth..

  • Yeah it does sound bad, maybe audio/video issue. I have a 89 and it sounds smooth, but then again the engine was gone through last fall and valves were also adjusted into spec. You can say what you want about the 20 valve genesis motor in the FZR1000 but without it you wouldnt have a R1. My 1989 1000 still runs good, makes 126hp at the tire and pulls 30mpg, not bad for a bike almost 20 yrs old!!!

  • I have a 87 fzr, whit a engine of a 93 model, tuned up to 145bhp to the rear wheel and belive me... he drinks asmuch oil as he does gasoline... and oh yeah, I did 90000 km's whit that engine, go figure.

    Greetings from the Netherlands.

  • mileage?

  • mines a pre exup and it rattles like thet on idle sweet as over 1000rpm cam chains rattle on these .......its when it dont you gotta worry lol

  • ive had four genesis motors, none sounded like that, and none ever had oil issues

  • beautiful bike;)

  • My FZR drinks no oil whatsoever... Maybe you should ride it somewhere instead of letting it idle in a carpark?

  • did someone see one piston somweere on the road??please call hotline...

  • Thats how the 20valve genesis engine sounds when running idle mate.

  • i agree, it sounds bad. wat may be the problem? (i am planning to buy one, so i want to be aware)

  • Nothing is wrong. That's the way it works. It's a fantastic bike. In '89 nothing could stand next to it. A Torgue monster!

  • Since then I've bought a Genesis (see my vids). I loved it but I had a lot of problems with it. I've spent a fortune on it, then crashed. Still these are very nice bikes, and I have some great memories with the FZR.

Have to mention that I ride a 1992 GSX-R 1100 now and the FZR is far behind in every aspect. The 1100 is simply the bike of it's era.

  • the fzr1000 is better than any gsxr1100 in terms of handling and if the airbox restriction removed ( cut it out with stanley knife ) good for 125bhp. owned both of them in my time and loved the gsxr but the yam is the better bike. I now own the best bike ever made.....lol the 1998 yamaha R1..... i will never sell it it still totally flips my wig every time I ride it

  • @1MrTurd You got a link to show me how to do that?

  • @bronxboyXXX The inlet tracts are obscured by small flaps of rubber designed to impede the progress of fuel and air. Junking the restrictors takes about an hour. This includes removing the fuel tank, airbox and bank of four carbs. A small scalpel is best, but a stanley knife blade will do it cut the small flaps of rubber away and Hey presto 125bhp

  • @1MrTurd hey man you wanna be a life saver and show me how to do that via youtube video? It would be muchly appreciated friend :) ha worth a try right

  • @bronxboyXXX info on it here :) visordown forum fzr1000 info

  • @1MrTurd Thanks man! I heard about this. I also heard about the European versions being restricted somehow. Do you know if this is the same thing? I just know my bike seems slower than it should be. Its a 91 1000 EXUP & I can't get it to Wheelie unless i pop the clutch yet I was able to do it with a 120Hp 85 Honda VF 1000R back home in the states with no problem.

  • @bronxboyXXX no worries mate, they are a great bike....all fzr1000 exup's have the restriction its to do with noise/emissions. it is a worth while mod to carry out, and I guarantee 100% you will be able to FEEL the difference, the bike pulls harder and just revs out so much more cleanly all the way to the red line

  • you wish or forgot bout zzr 1100 man

  • That engine sounds all nuts n boltz
