  • Rest in peace :(

  • RIP Frank Buckles, you will be missed

  • If my grandfather was still alive, he would be the oldest WWI vet as he would be 116 years old. He was a mechanic in the 96th Aero Squadron. People speak of the greatest generation, but before them came the doughboys. We owe a debt to all who answered the call in 1917-1919.

  • 109 wow you go!!

  • Wow, what a great guy, i have soooooooooooooo much respect for him and every single other veteran.

  • wow her daughters 52 and frank was 106 at the time WOW.

  • I met him on Memorial Day at the Union Station in Kansas City! My dad, a Lt. Col., had the honor of getting lots of pictures with him.

Frank Buckles only smiled at my dad, seeing that he was in the Air Force. Poor guy had no idea where he was, and people were swarming him.

  • He's my great great uncle ^______^

  • Mr. Buckles recently signed an autograph through the mail for me. Very nice man.

  • My husband lived behind the Buckles growing and he has very fond memories of Mr. Buckles. He was so proud the President Bush gave him the honor he deserved. He will be remembered with fond and loving memories.
