Taking veganism to the streets for the first time!

Go Veganism! lets all get out and do something about it too :) Ima put anti-speciests leaflets into peoples post boxs and perhaps organize an animal rights group with friends in school.

If you want to be vegan because it makes you full good inside. All the power to you sister. Why is it not enough that your Vegan that the rest of the world has to be also? We're is the freedom to choose? I don't march and protest against veganism. I don't march to support the consumption of meat. Another Vegan said it's not about animal rights, it's about animal welfare. We want to improve the quality of life for animals not give them the right to vote. In that sense they are not equal to us.

@souldude81 I am not forcing anyone, but advocating & giving information to people who want it. Animals are sentient beings & don't deserve to be treated as things.If you don't want to be vegan then fine but I'm not gonna shut up, because there are lots of people who do want to, they just don't know about this. I was one of those people 4 years ago and I am glad someone spoke to me. I'm not vegan to feel better about myself, I am vegan because animals deserve better and I don't need to use them.

@porolita22 There is a fine line between education and confrontational activism. Both are a form of resistance but one is actually reaching out with respect. I'm not saying you need to shutup about your views, but keep in mind respect the boundaries and don't mimipulate the truth. However in my experience when Vegans can't persuade the public at large you get groups like PETA. And it's all about the shock factor with them. At that point there is no dialogue only missunderstood people.

@souldude81 Peta don't stand for veganism or animal rights, they just pretend they do. They could do so much good yet they only care about controversy and donations, not really about changing peoples' minds about animals.

@porolita22 Hmm. I would like to learn how to cook for Vegans. I am a chef in training. When it comes to food I know my stuff, still I think I would like to help your cause by showing people how good Vegan food can be instead of getting into the animal rights debate. You should post videos on vegan food. Sometimes feeding people is the fist step in changing minds. Sorry to preach.

@porolita22 That's cool, but you know what most people like me are going to say deserve has nothing to do with it. An animal doesn't deserve it's fate anymore than a child in africa deserve to be born with AIDS, but the fact remains animals eat other animals to live. For me the issue isn't how they die or why they die, but how they live. Let's improve the quality of life for these animals and educate ourselves on how to become less dependent from process foods. It's about animal welfare.

I understand the hesitation of going to that one. Iv yet to understand how people put cats and dogs higher up than other living creatures. A dog can feel pain and fear the same as a cow a chicken or a human. - Hope to see new videos soon

ACTIVISM matters - good for you!! And I've come to find that supporting those groups who may not be vegan, generates the rapport and gets the discussion going.
