  • haha 'That was rhythmic"

  • @AHarmlessBlackMan hahaha

  • What is the song Of Fugazi on 1:38

  • @punkerija 'Do You Like Me' from the album Red Medicine. Enjoy.

  • @AlexanderAndTheGreat thnx man :)

  • Ian is awesome.

  • Ian Mackaye shoulda just said "I dont wanna hear it!!!" to all of nardwuars questions

  • @TheGuinnessboys Wackity schmackity doo!

  • im ashamed that kelowna plugged their ears...

  • I dont think that's adversity towards talking about his diet had anything to do with embarasment so much much as it has to do with attempts to not be pompus or fanatical about it like most other vegans/straight edgers. After all, he would frequently state later on that the stright edge he envisioned wasn't what it became. It got far too fanatical! Kids took to it like they used to take to booze, sex and drugs!

  • @freezazoid your fucking stupid. Go fucking kill yourself

  • i thought he was scotish for a second

  • In reference to Fugazi making it to every show, they played a show some yrs back.. 98 or so at Richmond University VA. It was an outdoor show n the temp dropped to 20 degrees right before they went on. They were troopers n played for a full hour until Ian n Guy couldn't feel their fingers anymore.

  • ha, love the ending.

  • He shouldn't talk about his diet? Lighten up Ian!

  • @JohnECocaine he just doesn't want other people following him like a cult. doesn't want people doing certain things just because he does it. or at least thats what i've gathered from his other interviews

  • @CheapHomemadeProdux That's great logic there chief. If he believes that people will do whatever he does, wouldn't he prefer these folks to adopt a vegan diet as opposed to an attitude of a pompous ass.

  • @JohnECocaine i believe its because he wants people to make their own decisions as opposed to following everything he says and turning him into some sort of a god.

  • @JohnECocaine i hear you man, but ian's wrapped a bit too tightly for my tatse. The guy is an ok guitar/bass player, and has been in several cool bands. Fine. He is no god.

  • am i the only one that dislikes fugazi? Minor Threat rules but Fugazi? bleh

  • ian got creeped out when he was asked about the food

  • OMG! I LOVE IAN MACKAYE!!!

  • was was he embarrassed about being a vegan? If you're a vegan you don't eat meat... is that supposed to be embarrassing or private? weird.

  • @freezazoid I guess some people don't want a label like that slapped on them.

  • he is like..... SO nice! lmao. you wouldnt expect that from a guy who nearly beat the crap out of a guy on stage.

  • Back when Much was about music...

  • Minor Threat > DOA

  • Ian mackaye is so fuckin awesome

  • true legend (not nardwuar)

  • "What is something you eat two of?" -- Nardwuar is an awesome interviewer.

  • Doot doodle doot doot... Nice to see you again Nardwaur.

  • i never heard fugazi songs like this

  • such a cunt

  • Please Ian.... hahaha

  • lolrage but really Ian ftw....

  • Nardwuar is annoying as shit

  • Punk is dead.

  • @blacktopaz8 everyone knows.

now can you please stop parading it throughout youtube.

Crass is cool, that doesn't mean their always right though

  • i like

    ilove

    i like

    i hate

    same stupid comments.

  • I love Nardwuar, but he doesn't get anywhere with Ian. Too bad Ian can't get into the interview idiom. I would like to see the edited parts. He probably tries to end the interview. Ian, cannot you say doot doot? Please? I have only see one other interviewee not doot doot--it was... Jay Z.

  • @kc7fys

There are others who refused to Doot Doot.....

    Nas comes to mind.

  • My Fugazi experience was Olympia, WA about 1993 or something. Ian did the obligatory stop-the-show-to-escort-out-somebody with this actual Nazi guy. He was a skinhead with some suspenders on--who was doing the nazi salute. Stopped the show and led him out. It was amazing theater. Were any of you there?

  • @kc7fys I wasn't there or at any Fugazi show, for that matter, but that sounds amazing. Reminds me of that Dead Kennedys song, "Nazi Punks Fuck Off"

  • @kc7fys No, but I wish I had...

  • I saw Fugazi 10 years ago and LOVED it!!!

  • i love that SG

  • What's that song at 1:40?

  • @johnmoser01 "Do You Like Me" in my opinion one of the best songs from Red Medicine album

  • "please ian"

  • what was that song they played?

  • 2:47 which fugazi song is that???

  • "Two bananas could never hurt anybody"

  • god i love the evaporators

  • "take care.....that was rhythmic."

  • THIS GUY IS WEIRD; THIS "Nardwuar" also interviewed Geddy Lee from RUSH and annnoyed him !!!

  • @TEMPmichaelhansen He only annoys you if you let him.

  • well they have similar voices XD

  • @TEMPmichaelhansen If you don't know who this interviewer is...Your kind of a poseur scratching around looking for Ian MacKaye videos. Do some research.

  • read wikipedia. "Nardwuar the interviewer "talks to" (bothers/confounds) Geddy Lee ... " (D-uh) In July 1999, Nardwuar suffered a cerebral hemorrhage (aborting his planned ambush interview of Courtney Love), but recovered after surgery.

  • go after konkelberryfinn

Some misinterpret his hijinks as intentionally disrespectful, particularly Henry Rollins and pornographer Al Goldstein.

hey dummy read the comments on this guy and henry rollins

    Nardwuar vs. Henry Rollins

    NardwuarServiette

  • Nardwuar is personal friends with Rollins and MacKaye. He also does work with IFC and Nardwuar is a CHARACTER. He knows everything that he knows because he's been an insider for years. You're a douche.

  • read wikipedia

  • @itowedin

I did some research: I discovered "Nardwuar" on a RUSH site. it was stated like this "OdD Rush Interviews - Nardwuar the interviewer "talks to" (bothers/confounds) Geddy Lee ...

*** (Real Audio) as well as (Transcript) " on the rush "MitA's" webpage!

  • Comment removed

  • such marvellously odd, amusing, non-sequitur questions.

  • The ending... +2 respect for Ian Mackaye. Hilarious.

  • hahaha why don't you watch some of his videos on here...

  • FUCK YOU

  • @spankerdoodle and so are you for even uttering such heinous thoughts

  • I wish Nardwuar interviewed Seth Putnam of Anal Cunt!

  • Is that Chuck Biscuits playing with DOA?

  • yes

  • why the fuck is it so hard to say doot doot

  • whats the song at 0.08 to 0.15? anyone? i've heard it loads before on tv and stuff but never knew it was Fugazi!

  • Sieve-Fisted Find from the Repeater album.

  • hey nardwuar any chance u could interview albini

  • doooo itttt nardwuar!

  • that guy needs a punch by reality. (not ian)

  • Nardwuar does some serious homework before interviewing these guys. Which is weird, because these interviews don't look set up...

  • Ian doesn't need anyone defending him from insults on the internet. He just doesn't give a shit and will never hear about it. Probabley.

  • that was rhythmic

  • Damn right it was rhythmic.

Ian MacKaye is one of the most rhythmic fuckers out there.

  • well maybe he should have some fun, and not be an ass.

  • He's not a douche,

he's just not going to look stupid on camera just to be made fun of my some idiot on the internet

  • Why do you guys have to talk shit about Ian Macaye? MINOR THREAT, Fugazi,Give the guy some kind of respect. Why dont you Get a FUCKING LIFE, And stop talking shit about people youve never evan met... by the way if you dont like what I have to say then You can kiss a dogs ass.

  • I agreee! No Disrespecting Ian , he is the man. Anyone dissing him can go die!

  • @GoodFellaAtxSS44 i wasnt aware of a problem with ian

  • Comment removed

  • IMcK was doing so well until he failed on replying correctly.

  • i wish id been to that show...D.O.A. and Minor Threat... that would have been awesome

  • hahaha this dude is out of his mind

  • Im starting a project about punk rock, but it wouldnt be fair to use my point of view alone to describe every aspect about punk; so, to any punk rocker, music lover or anyone with an opinion about the following subjects it would help me out, give me YOUR idea about the subject: what is a sellout, what is a poser, what do you think about punk style, good examples of punk bands and why anything else you would like to add would be cool

  • Okay, here goes:

A sellout, in reference to a band, is the shift in focus from passion, creation, and artistic freedom for fame and/or fortune.

A poser is a person in a band or scene who pretends to be some thing they are not. An example would be, a bassist in person who has a mohawk and a denim jacket and has a Ramones sticker on his van, but has never even listened to

  • the Ramones. He doesn't actually believe or support in any of the ideas surrounding the music, or even participate in creating any music, he only exploits the fashion in order to seem cool.

Punk style is a creative and original way to present one's alternative ways of thinking/living. Most often recognized by torn fabrics including leather, denim, flannel; piercings, tattoos, make-up, very long or very short hair that is often dyed or wildly stylized.

  • Posers subejt: agreed 100%... my exact thoughts (its nice to hear someone know that definition of posers cause in peru a poser is someone who looks different so if your a punk your a poser

I really like how you summed it all up its neat easy to iunderstand and makes for a great quote

  • no prob, hope it helps. if you have any more questions just ask.

  • i believe that dressing "punk" is wearing what ever the fuck you want and not giving a shit

  • exactly

  • agreed

  • @kller324 so could skinny jeans b punk if u dont give a shit what ppl say about u wearing them? i know stupid question

  • @XxAdTrFrEaKiNrOcKsXx punk isn't about dressing up its about music

  • @XxAdTrFrEaKiNrOcKsXx skinny jeans are punk cos they're the opposite of hippy

  • @RadiatingEyesSuck

Skinny jeans are for fucking faggot hipsters, bro.

  • @TheReadyMen yeh but go look at the ramones

  • @TheReadyMen yeh but go look at the ramones jeans

  • @kller324 if punk is doing what you want, that IS giving a shit. and anarcho punk is politically pro-active punk rock. gutter punk = apathy and not giving a shit.

  • @kller324 And you'd be right. Punk was never about imitation.

  • @kller324 i want to wear normal and plain clothing

  • RICOLA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Sellout: Someone who gives up their artistic vision or personal opinions or musical aesthetics in order to become more successful/popular with a wider crowd who may have originally rejected them.

Poser: Someone who isn't in on it for the music.

  • @PunkWolf1984 Punk Is Knowing.

  • theres alreadt too many retard crust kids. we dont need more

  • 2 Bananas can never hurt anybody XD

  • i think ian might secretly be batman.

and he could probably beat up chuck norris on a whim.

  • I love how Ian just owns him at the end.

  • Rat poison XD

    Gah I love Ian.

  • does ian have a tattoo on the side of his head? 0:39 looks like a skull and crossbones.

  • Haha, weird... I think it's just his hair [or the lackthereof]

  • ian rocks

  • Fallchildren138..so you have Ian because he's a "fag", do ya? The message Ian has always preached has been open mindedness and acceptance, actually, including "fags". I guess a person like you with such a small mind could neither appreciate Ian nor the "fags" you hate.

  • Don't bother trying to reason with retards like fallchildren138, he just craves attention

  • he's fucking right on about playing a gig. i saw fugazi years back in dallas when the fire marshall came and kicked everyone out of the building. fugazi played anyway. thanks for the memory mother fuckers.

  • Ahh I missed two gigs and one fest because I thought the other people in my band were irresponsible and wanted to drop the gas bill in my hands.

  • Why doesn't he like to talk about his diet? After all, he's more than forthcoming talking about everything else, controversial or not.

  • Because it's his diet. Who the hell cares about Ian MacKaye's diet.

  • The same people who care the hell about any other questions he's answering. The reason I'm asking is because Ian Mackaye is famously forthcoming with his opinions, why should he be suddenly coy about his diet?

  • He probably doesn't want people to be vegan because of him.

Like he does not take credit for the whole sxe movement so he doesn't want his name thrown behind that as well. 'Tis an individual choice is what he stresses... I think

  • Man, so you have been writing shit on every single Ian MacKaye video that I have seen today, and I'm just kind of wondering, what is your problem? Nobody is going to this video in hopes of seeing somebody write how much of a douche or a faggot they think he is. Nobody cares if you hate him, so cut it out please. Notice I'm not calling you a fag or a fucktard or any other pointless insult people throw at you, since it's a complete waste of time to insult you and give you what you want.

  • I live very close to HB-Woodlawn, the high school DOA and Minor Threat played. Alot of my friends go there.

  • I live near there too, thought about going there but I changed my mind. Wish I could have gone to this show.

  • Ian Mackaye's cool as fuck

  • black flag & minor threat? awesome!!!!!!!!

  • that's like my dream show...too bad I was born in 1989, 6 years after Minor Threat broke up and 3 years after Black Flag broke up

  • I went to HB Woodlawn. Black Flag played there too as well as some others. Great school.

  • Annoying interviewer

  • Heh heh, Nardwuar looks so normal when interviewing a decent, no-frills interviewee.

  • no ventra. You're the asshole.

and ventura was beaten serve and brutally till death.

  • hear, hear, being annoying doesn't make you punk rock.

  • great live version of do you like me there

  • CANADA MOTHERFUCKER

  • Doot doodl doot doo...

Nice to see you again Nardwuar. hahahahah!

  • Wow, he actually shut up, for like, 5 minutes, ahha!!

  • Very Funny!

  • oh my god this guys fucking hilarious

  • christ alive why the clown?

  • "two bananas could never hurt anyone"

hahaha ian mackaye is fucking awesome

  • At least the interviewer let him talk. He was either really nervous or didn't know crap about who he was actually interviewing.

  • Are you kidding? Nardwuar knows his shit. He had that gig poster from 1981 for pete's sake.

  • this guy is so fuckinggggggggggg annoying

  • i dont know, i think hes funny sometimes

  • nardwuar seemed very humble and shy in this interview

  • He actually shut his fucking mouth for longer than 30 seconds. That's amazing. Goddamnit I hate his fucking interviews, but he interviews some of my favorite musicians, so I have to try to watch them. I'm going to try to edit some of his videos to cut out when he speaks.

  • Nardwuar is annoying, but he does his research, gives good interviews, and interviews excellent people.

  • and also he's, you know *looks about* .....canadian.

  • What do you have against Canadians?

  • nothing at all, just jokin around

  • Suree.....

    lol.

  • "He actually shut his fucking mouth for longer than 30 seconds."

    ( lol )

  • Are you guys fucking stupid..?

  • god, i would love to kick the shit out of narwuar, but i have to hand it to him, he gets some fucking legendary people to interview/annoy the shit out of.

  • everytime naurdwar brings up DOA they show a clip from World War 3

  • What is the song at 1:38. It sounds great. Sorry. I don't know a lot about Fugazi, but I'd really like to get into them.

  • "Do You Like Me" from Red Medicine. I encourage you to get into Fugazi. Enjoy!

  • Thanks, man!

  • How is your Fugazi discovery going? I've always loved them and recently have been listening to them a lot again. Still so satisfying!!

  • I got the album and dug the hell out of it! Thanks, dude! Much appreciated. Any more album recommendations from them?

  • Hey Torry, always happy to hear someone's out there enjoying Fugazi. The only album of theirs I don't "love" is the Instrument soundtrack. It's merely because it's a soundtrack and it doesn't stand alone like a proper album in my opinion. Next album I'd get, 13 Songs, then Repeater. This would be getting them into chronological order which is what happened for me as I got them when they each came out. Check Wikipedia for album order. Their really all excellent. I love this band!

  • Ooops, grammatical error.

    *They're......
