God people, stop saying how Rose was useless! She saved the Doctor's life more than once, brought Jack back to life and added (the possibly most touching) element in the whole 2005 series! I really think the one season with Donna and Doctor Ten was way too short... Would've loved a second season! I loved the fact that Donna was only ever a friend, his best friend. Tate and Tennant is my all-time favourite combination of the show :P That said, though, I do rather love Matt Smith's Doctor too, and I began liking Amy more when she stopped crushing over the Doctor so much. I definitely prefer the old River Song (from series 4) to the young one...

I think Matt is superb as the Doctor, absolutely suberb. On balance however I probably still prefer David simply due to the humanity he brought to a usually very cold and reserved character. I could take or leave Amy & Rory, I don't rate either of them highly as actors & Karen's beauty is FAR too focal to dr who now, its totally changing the show & getting a tad repetitive now. I think the writing has been very good, not the best, but good. But Vincet & the Doctor - SENSATIONAL, 10/10.

I've only seen the new series because they stopped showing the classics in america, but I personally have loved all of the companions since they were all so different, if I was forced to put them in order I would say
1.Rose
2.Amy
3.Donna
4.Martha

Catherine is the best companion from new who, IMO. Martha was needy, Rose was always messing things up, and Amy's pretty good, but she hasn't really done much.
I love Karen Gillan though, she seems like such a cool person.

RTD wrote some good ones, and it's not realistic to overlook the fact the he was instrumental in bringing the show back. However, he pushed the gay agenda every chance he got. And I know I'll get some comments about that statement but before you start bashing me, think about something: Do you honestly believe overt sexuality, straight or gay, belongs in Doctor Who?

I really think the one season with Donna and Doctor Ten was way too short... Would've loved a second season! I loved the fact that Donna was only ever a friend, his best friend. I think the show really needed that. Tate and Tennant is my all-time favourite combination of the show :P That said, though, I do rather love Matt Smith's Doctor too, and I began liking Amy more when she stopped crushing over the Doctor so much. I definitely prefer the old River Song (from series 4) to the young one...

I think Matt is superb as the Doctor, absolutely suberb. On balance however I probably still prefer David simply due to the humanity he brought to a usually very cold and reserved character. I could take or leave Amy & Rory, I don't rate either of them highly as actors & Karen's beauty is FAR too focal to dr who now, its totally changing the show & getting a tad repetitive now. I think the writing has been very good, not the best, but good. But Vincet & the Doctor - SENSATIONAL, 10/10.
