  • odd i thought i saw a few seconds of the SPT logo before the Columbia Pictures Television logo came in, appearing after the hanna-barbera logo came in

  • A cool reminiscent of The Jetsons. I don't recall seeing the Columbia Pictures Television "pretzel" logo at the end of the show but it's nice. Does this mean Sony owns the cartoon?

  • Skeletor was one of the voices?

  • Some of the Partridge Family kids appeared on episodes of Goober and the Ghost Chasers

  • Silverman had a great success making cartoons out of "MY FAVORITE MARTIAN(S)" and "{I DREAM OF} JEANNIE" the previous season, and figured "The Partridge Family" (which had just left ABC's prime-time schedule that summer) was a better idea than a new "Judy & Elroy Jetson" series, and merely grafted THEM onto the "21st Century" framework. Ultimately, it didn't work...

  • Look at the writers' list: John Fenton Murray was one of Red Skelton's key radio/TV writers in the '40s and '50s; Rance Howard is Ron's father, and wrote several sitcom scripts in the '60s and '70s; Dick Conway is another veteran writer, from "THE LIFE OF RILEY" to "THE MUNSTERS"; Larz Bourne was a veteran cartoon writer, worked at Famous Studios/Paramount and Terrytoons, and for Gene Deitch in the early '60s; "Bill" Raynor was Myles Wilder's writing partner on several "McHALE'S NAVY" episodes.

  • @fromthesidelines I saw the writers' list in the show's end credits. So Rance Howard is the father of actor director producer Ron Howard. John Fenton Murray wrote for Red Skelton, Gilligan's Island, some Sid and Marty Krofft saturday morning shows, William "Bill" Raynor was Myles Wilder's writing partner on episodes of "McHale's Navy" "The Dukes of Hazzard" and lots of other shows.

  • I remember the big question at the time was why put the Partridge Family in outer space,as was done with Gilligan's Island and Josie and the Pussycats.I found out later that Hanna-Barbera had originally planned a spinoff series featuring Judy and Elroy Jetson, but the network wanted a Partridge show,so they combined the two ideas and came up with this.

  • lou schieder dished out some real cheapies like this partridge and that horrible brady cartoon!

  • @atfatw Lou Scheimer (not Schieder) had nothing to do with the Partridge Family cartoon as he was one of the co-founders of Filmation Associates. The Partridge Family cartoon was produced by Hanna-Barbera.

  • @Scarletspeedster68 well, he was still a slimeball!

  • @atfatw Nice way to compliment someone you never met. NOT!

  • How apt that a show from the Columbia Pictures library would inspire the Hanna-Barbera company. After all, Screen Gems was the common denominator, and Columbia would probably have been a far better fit for the H-B library than Warner Brothers (who already have Bugs Bunny).

  • I had no idea there was a partrige family cartoon...
