it was really a very glorious time prior the exile of the jews all ethnic groups in egypt lived in prosperity and equity i wish i lived in that time jews with christians and muslims in harmony now there's no tolerance to others what so ever

My grandfather was the cantor at the Ashkenazi synagogue in Ataba for many years.
He passed away in 1961. We left Cairo for the US shortly after that.

The Synagogue of Nabi Daniel in Alexandria is a very beautiful building too.. There is no problem taking photos there...no guards will say anything

This is truly amazing to see something like this, that my own Grandfather had his Bar mitzvah at this place of worship.
