When the fireworks started, the audience's attention was attracted by it; they didn't seem to care about the still-ongoing national anthem. How unpatriotic... :(
@AthenaTungsten How old are you now? Are you under training by the professionals? Does your parent support you? Are you on "full-time training"? Is anyone/ organisation/ government sponsoring you? Do you have enough facility to get the training you need?

i cried listening to our nation anthem watching this video, reminds me of the olden days of singapore how we suffer how we succeed from time to time and im so proud of singapore right now. we manage to bring singapore's name around the world. and look at this beautiful city of ours :) that is why i won't ever leave singapore. like what our ex prime minister lee said : this is not a hotel, this is a home. :) i love singapore~!
If you take a look at the other videos it'll be clearer. The choir did sing it correctly. However, I have to say that it is disappointing that many Singaporeans sing "semua kita berSATU" instead of "semua kita berSERU". Goes to show that they rmb the anthem by sound and not meaning. Sad...
One of the choir is from Tampines Primary School. I noe it because I'm am of the choir members. We had a hard time blending in together with the victoria sec. But overall, the comments about the anthem we sang, they said it made our nation proud! TPS also sang 'five stars arising'
I like the new rendition. It is indeed more inspirational and touching than the previous arrangements. The olympic anthem was well-sung too. They should have acknowledged the artistes who performed the song. From my understanding, HC choir sang the olympic anthem and also the back-up chords for the national anthem. Kudos to them.
This rendition was one of the best I've ever heard. If I'm not wrong the credit goes to Ivan and Iskandar. And the first voice you hear on it is by a young girl named Nathania. Correct me if I'm wrong please.
I wished they announced the names. It's always nice to acknowledge the artistes.
the best rendition of the singaporean anthem.... I hope it's available as MP3 pre-recorded (just as O Canada in Vancouver 2010). The fireworks disturb my enjoyment. Only one thing bother me. It sounded like anglicised Malay, especially "Mari kita" from the beginning.
They youths on stage sang and said Marilah Kita "Berseru"!!! There is a huge wall of lyrics that clearly states its "Bersatu"... And they still said it wrong.. So much for all the rehearsals... Wtf..
@ulfw Yeah sure, thats an excuse. What about all that rehearsals? Have they been singing it wrong? And I'm pretty sure most if not all the guys and gals on stage were singaporeans... They still said it wrong??
@ulfw they are singing correctly. The second "tu" was overwhelmed by the fireworks, such on video it sounds like a "ru" though if you listen carefully, it was a "tu".
@wanalexwan No.. It was heard clearly while I was watching it on tv too.... Not too mention that that verse of the anthem was played twice, and yet they still said Marilah Kita "Berseru"....
my first language is Indonesian, and yet, I sometimes can't remember when to use "bersatu" and "berseru" in both Majulah Singapura and Indonesia Raya. I realised that some of my friends make the same mistake.
@imranbecks We should be proud of them, to represent us and sing in front of the entire world, with a total number of audience of at least 2 billion people. They sing, and make our National Anthem known all around the world!

Wished the fireworks started only after the choir finished singing the anthem. Would have been more impactful instead of being a distraction.

@imranbecks maybe we should change the lyrics to 'Marilah kita berseru!".
(oh hey, wait a minute, won't it sounds like Indonesian anthem then?) O.O
omg. then, stay with the current lyrics. :-)
