Awesome. I just bought some ram. Trying to sneak my way up to 3 GB. I was going to upgrade to Snow Lep but wasn't sure if it would bog down my system. After watching this vid, i am going to go ahead and upgrade. Thanks for posting this.
I have a black macbook as well. 2.0ghz Core Duo cpu and 1gb ram. currently running 10.4.
Will it be worth upgrading to SL? Or would 10.5 be a better choice, because I've read that upgrading to SL would be pointless because it uses so much ram. 1gb just wouldnt be enough.
@DylanMakesNoise If I were you, I would stick with Tiger. (10.4) It's the fastest you will get for that little bit of RAM. Good luck thanks for watching.
Okay thanks! Well I just looking under activity monitor and yeah you're right. 10.4 already uses up like 400mb of ram so id estimate SL to be around 700? Haha not really enough to work with.. So I'm probably going to upgrade my ram definitely.

He updated the HDD, that certainly helps make it quick. The default drives, depending on the year are 120,160 and 5400 RPM and a 8MB cache.
I updated my Macbook with the same HDD and it's fast as well. :)
