Am glad to see the survivors of the residential Catholic schools with this movement, speaking out. The truly sick thing is that the Church officials do not really believe in God; they believe in themselves. God is merely a useful corporate logo & means of control for them.
IF they believed in God they would share their incredible wealth with the poor. And the sex abusers & the Bishops who enabled them would be turned over to the courts for justice.

Notice that one of the intolerant anti-Catholics was wearing a Guy Fawkes mask. Don't they know that Guy Fawkes was a Catholic Martyr whose crime was to seek liberty for Catholics to practice their faith; exactly what this guy (pun intended) is trying to prevent.
You seem to be confusing Church teaching with the clergy.
Where in Catholic TEACHING have you found defence of rape in general, or rape of children in particular?
Where have you found defence of pomoting and protecting rapists?
Catholicism is a universal faith. If some clergyman comes up with a notion which is not universal in time and place, or is not in unity with the Pope, you can take it or leave it.
I as a Catholic was opposed by my bishop when I opposed abortion & he didn't.
@christianpatriot125 it is the current pope who sent out the order, decades ago, to keep all allegations quiet, to NOT report to the law, etc. and it was also the current pope who, for decades, has been shuffling any priests who get caught to fresh pastures (and thereby knowingly causing further rapes). As head of the entire institution, now, his record speaks for itself. He's a fucking criminal who should be behind bars. The end.
I note that you have failed to identify any Catholic teaching in support of child sexual abuse.
Your argument fails with you.
I think you're wrong about Benedict. He acted swiftly to remove the head of the Legionaries of Christ as soon as an internal obstacle to acting decisively was removed.
Even if you were correct, that would not invalidate Catholicism. Church history is full of examples of laity admonishing clergy, even Popes, who failed to observe or preach CHURCH teaching.
@christianpatriot125 I've "failed to identify any Catholic teaching in support of child sexual abuse"? I guess I need to spell it out even more simply for you. How about its teaching by example, by that which it PRACTICES; not what it preaches, but what it actually DOES. What it DOES, as a matter of policy from its highest office, is shuffles priests who get caught molesting and raping to new parishes where they can continue. This is prime Catholic teaching in support of child sexual abuse.
When a cleric acts against Church teaching, it is wrong to describe that as an action of the Church. A rebellious act cannot be ascribed to the party being rebelled against.
Even Popes have abused their office. Their sins do not changed Church Teaching, or the sanctity of sacraments. The Church remains the mystical body of Christ.
Do not confuse the Catholic faith with Church personnel. Condemn the abuse of power, not the religion!
@christianpatriot125 The corporate institution known as "THE CHURCH" DOES PREACH ABUSE by what it DOES. I'm not talking about sacraments or faith or even religion for that matter - not at any time in this conversation; that's all been your projection. All I'm trying to address is the reality of grown mens' cocks tearing the delicate flesh & shredding the very souls of innocent children. I'm talking about these men being protected as a matter of CHURCH POLICY & u're trying to avoid the topic.
I spoke 1st about the faith and practice of the faith.
You responded with your attempt to equate Catholicism with clerical child abuse.
I'm a Catholic, it is clear that you're not. Don't expect me, or any other Catholic accept your definition of our faith. The Church is what the Church says it is.
The Church preaches & provides the sacraments. Those who do, or facilitate those who do, what is wrong according to Church teaching do not follow Church policy, they break it
@christianpatriot125 you are the one confusing faith with institution (and continuing to steer clear of the fact that the institution's official policy has been to conceal abuse and shuffle pedos) - I never made any attempt to equate catholicism (the faith) with the abuse that happens as per official policy of the institution (I've been very clear about that), and I certainly went nowhere near trying to define your faith. Obviously you care more about the institution that you do its victims!
I've never confused the faith or the Church, with the clergy. Therefore I have not confused the faith with any institution concealing abuse. When the clergy act against Church teaching they act against the Church.
I've never pretended that concealment didn't take place or that clergy weren't involved.
Your very 1st was an 'attempt to equate catholicism (the faith) with the abuse'.
You're using victims for your own ends. To you they're just a weapon to attack me with. Shame on you!
@christianpatriot125 You are on some wacky drugs, man - I'm "using victims" to attack YOU???? You personally?? your faith??? catholicism??? None of the above, dude - wow - that is paranoia bordering on psychosis. Your twisting is incredible - if your faith in the teachings were anything near as strong as you would have readers believe here, you would be standing up strong for victims and demanding accountability from your institution. But no way - too busy feeling insulted...
"if your faith in the teachings were anything near as strong as you would have readers believe here, you would be standing up strong for victims and demanding accountability from your institution"
and in your previous post:
"Obviously you care more about the institution that you do its victims!"
No rational argument, just presumption based insults, using victims as a weapon.
@christianpatriot125 are you reading someone else's 1st post? My 1st post (a response to a post you made) says ""intolerant anti-catholics"... we should, in your eyes, be more tolerant of child rapists and those who protect and promote them?" Notice that I had your words in quotation marks to set them off as something I didn't say and that I don't really agree with ( i.e., I am not anti-catholic, nor is that why we are protesting at the church)
The video was about a group who attempted to take over a Catholic Church, an act which would have prevented its congregation availing of the sacraments at that location.
I rightly described those attempting the take-over as anti-catholic. You responded to my description of those attacking a place of worship as anti-Catholic by assuming I must be a supporter of those among the clergy who destroyed the innocence of children, (a sin crying out to heaven for vengeance).
@christianpatriot125 'availing of the sacraments at that location' on that one single mass time - avail yourselves later (multiple times daily). Could I get you to consider that the reason the protesters are there is not what you think it is? Its not about faith or teachings, except insofar as to appeal to real believers who will walk the walk. They are there because YEARS of appeals thru "proper channels" to address crimes the church is responsible for has been met with stubborn silence.
@christianpatriot125 THANK YOU, finally, for addressing the destroyed innocence of children. A sin, yes, but also a crime that has repercussions here on earth for rapists not under the far-reaching protection of the papal office. We are no more "anti-catholic" than you are a personal supporter of perpetrators in collars: the problem is not "a few bad apples" tho - its official policy to protect these people and actions speak far louder than any words. Work WITH us to cleanse your institution?
What do you mean, 'finally'? I addressed it in my first response!
The clergy are not my institution.
I have asked you to give an example of Church Teaching, that supports your argument, and you have failed to do so.
It is wrong to confuse with the organisation itself, the actions of those who abuse their office and operate contrary to the rules of the organisation they are supposed to serve.
@christianpatriot125 Your 1st post: "Notice that one of the intolerant anti-Catholics was wearing a Guy Fawkes mask. Don't they know that Guy Fawkes was a Catholic Martyr whose crime was to seek liberty for Catholics to practice their faith; exactly what this guy (pun intended) is trying to prevent. Ironic!" - Nothing in there about sex abuse victims. Ur 2nd post: "I as a Catholic was opposed by my bishop when I opposed abortion & he didn't." ??
@christianpatriot125 ...cuz that doesn't refer to sex abuse victims either. Not until your 8th do you address their side. Examples of "Church Teaching" abound: I've said repeatedly that the church teaches loudest and strongest by that which it does in practice, regardless of what any of the clergy may say to the crowds at mass; silencing victims, protecting perps ARE "the rules of the organisation they are supposed to serve." Not ind'ls acting against, but in line with official church policy.
Some priests, far too many bishops, a certain senior cardinal, at the very least allowed perpetrators to remain in their position, exposing further victims to danger.
Others put perpetrators where they couldn't offend. For example a Franciscan monk was transferred to an enclosed monastery & kept there for over 20 years. It was known at the time of his offence that the cops did not act upon such complaints. The Franciscans didn't disobey the Church, they followed it!
@christianpatriot125 There are exceptions to any rule, and good, but that doesn't change the fact of the rules issued by head office and adhered to worldwide for many decades. I don't know how many times I'd have to clarify 4 U that I'm talking about specific criminal activity OFFICIALLY SANCTIONED & PRACTICED by Ur institution - that which destroys real live breathing individuals, families & communities - and NOT about ideological teachings. This isn't complicated, man.
@christianpatriot125 plz explain how "if your faith [...] your institution" is an insult, bcuz I don't get it. When I said "Obviously [...] victims!", it was based on me trying over 5 posts to discuss the real problem of rampant protected rape & U consistently responding only w/ defense of faith, sth I was never talking about. I'm NOT attacking FAITH: I AM attacking protect-rapists-vatican-official-policy. Apples & oranges, right? Wondering Y U don't seem all that upset about the latter.
You asserted, without knowing me that I do not care about victims of clerical abuse.
This after I commented in a previous post that I had verbally clashed with my own bishop because of his co-operation with an anti-child agenda of the establishment.
I said that those who go against Church teaching, even if they use clerical structures to do it, are opposing Church policy, & therefore are in opposition to the Church.
In no way can this be logically seen as disregard for victims.
@christianpatriot125 I didn't say you do not care about victims of clerical abuse - what I said was that, certainly within the scope of this conversation, you are far more concerned about the reputation of the institution. Instead of railing against outsiders who know about all the abuse and wonder why you insiders aren't in revolution over all that's been revealed, why don't you guys turf out all the perps from their positions once and for all? Isn't that what matters? Stopping the abuse?
They definetly need to get rid of the Vatican since it answers and is controlled by the Rothschilds. And like the world bank(Rothchilds London) sits on it's property immuned from laws, and taxation. If you want the truth follow the rights these institutions give themselves and restrict from the rest of the population.
This is gay
