@boriblue12 Okay, Disney did not "buy" Totoro. Disney has always distributed Ghibli movies. It's because of them, we have English translated Ghibli, and that's why they have Disney stars in them, like the girl who plays Lilo also plays Chihiro.

Secondly, John Lasseter considers Hayao Miyazaki one his his close friends and inspirations. He added Tortoro as a way of saying that he appreciates what he has done. John Lasseter also directs most of the English translations of Ghibli movies

this film really affected me emotionally. Seeing Woody turn to the screen and say "So Long, Partner" wow...it's like he was talking to us, the generation who grew up with these toys.
