I live 7 miles from town, but we have a dunkin dougnuts, pizza places, a mini supermarket, and even an eyeglass place. If you want to see a busier spot, check out Portland, Maine.
They have those camera type things for hunters, only instead of time-lapse, they're motion-activated. You could possibly break into one and make that edit, Hank.

But Maine is a great place, because in many parts of it there is no connection to civilization. Just man and nature in harmony. Sure. However, videos here are made to be seen. In other words, to be watched, spectated, etc. No one is making videos here that aren't meant to be seen. My criticism of this video is the lack of originality in a particular aspect of the style. That style is a mimick of SexyPhil's on YouTube and SexyPhil's is a mimick of a style used on certain broadcasted shows on TV. It's not a problem to mimick the style when something else is added to it to make it different.
Perhaps your criticism would be valid and more welcomed if the vlogbrothers were just starting out, but after almost three years, I think that they are probably not the most impressionable. And who is to say that it was sxephil that they were influenced by? I think that any references to zefrank are completely justified, as John has confessed his love for ze, and considering ze's popularity when they began.
Also, be more constructive with your criticism. If you aren't going to lead the change you want to see, then maybe you should leave some textual suggestions, ways to improve (simply asking someone to stop doing something is generally not useful). Otherwise, I have no choice but to assume that if you were to make videos, you would emulate sxephil.

Well, said. I have lived in both worlds, the "real world" from back in my 1980s-90s childhood and the "virtual world" of now. Two very different things, yet both are as stressful and relaxing. The only thing I note is that in real life it's easier to mentally connect with who you are talking with. Over the internet, you don't get the full experience of who other people are.

Us Mainers are pretty damn tough. lol. 6 months of winter, a rainy spring, kind of a summer and then sometimes we skip fall and go straight back to winter. I've lived most of my life here in Maine with no running water or electricity but that's simply because we were so poor; not because Maine doesn't have those things. This dude is in the Maine woods... where being internetless is expected but he should be happy the mosquitoes aren't eating him alive.

Well, said. I have lived in both worlds, the "real world" from back in my 1980s-90s childhood and the "virtual world" of now. Two very different things, yet both are as stressful and relaxing. The only thing I note is that in real life it's easier to mentally connect with who you are talking with. Over the internet, you don't get the full experience of who other people are.

ok I think this is probably my favourite (or at least one of my favourite) vlogbrothers videos ever! Sweet ideas... vending machines on public transport... why is that not already done? & the understanding ppl thing... too true its scary! Personally I try to surround myself with a variety of personality types, but there's still so many I don't understand.... Nice work verbalising the thoughts of my mind :-)
