Diablo Hellfire is still my favorite by far, and yet it does not appear in the list XD

This is my first time looking at Diablo.

D1 is NOX with some more classes (trust me, that is a compliment).

D2 is a bit better.

D3 looks much better...though it should after all these years. It should do okay in today's market. But it does look cool and there are lots of loyal Diablo fans.

I'll have to try it...or at least D1 and D2.

I enjoyed your homage to, and analysis of the Diablo series, but I feel you missed the mark a little. At least get your D1 char to lvl10 so you can kick a little more ass for the sake of the vid. With Diablo 2 your almost obligated to show the Mephisto fight, not only is it classic but it gives you great opportunities for interesting cuts with the addition of the council members. Your vid really highlights the advancement in technology since the previous two though! *drools over Q3 Beta* >.<

The trend....

1. Slower and Slower attack speeds.

2. More and more monsters... in D3, you kill a few with each strike.

3. Weaker and weaker still the monsters get (the fallen look like serious business in D)

4. Faster and even faster move speeds (in D3, you're attacking while you move... at breakneck speeds)

All in all, everything just seems to be getting weaker while you're getting so much stronger... the scare factor is being lost, regardless of grittiness/darkness cos of that.

@toasterder Yeah I totally see what you mean, D3 still just looks a little too cartoony compared. But I guess if you want to be scared by a game, the Diablo series isn't really the best type of game for that. And Diablo definitely looks outdated.

The environments in D3 are what is exciting me most about the game at the moment.

I really like your comment as I feel the same. With D3, you'll never feel 1/10th of what D1 could give. The games become so fast that you can't even enjoy the game. Of course, there are so many special effect while fighting that you cannot even see wich creature you hit.

what I would've loved to see, real furious action in 2d/3d. Just blunt swords cutting through enemies without any stupid lights show or impressive explosions, same for rangers, on the caster's side I would like to see special effects there. Spells is where special effects are, not swords -.-

that's what I hate about D3 it needs more special effects where its Needed, not where they're unwelcomed.

Notice how in Diablo 1 killing just 2 or 3 enemies at the same time was a big deal, it was some serious stuff... in Diablo 2 you'd slaughter a whole heap of enemies without any problems at all and that's something I never liked in Diablo 2, I'd rather fight a few serious enemies instead of 5000 dumb ones.

Diablo 3 seems to spam even more enemies at you than Diablo 2 did. :/

There is something about the first Diablo that has not been successfully recreated ever since... No idea what, but I sure miss it. I think its the grittier darker style, and the music which was damn amazing, diablo 2 was close, but still a step away from the grittiness. Diablo 3 is... well I am skeptical, I mean did they have to make it so alike Warcraft? I wont judge before its out, but I doubt ill get it regardless, I bet its good, but not what I am looking for.

@AxelTheManly Totally agree with you, from a horror game, to a action game now. Style has changed a lot, and I liked the atomsphere in diablo one and two, but in three it feels totally different, its like monsters are the ones that should be scared.

@jk292001 well the D3 footage thus far has been like alpha phase :P before all balances and not only that but they've got practical god mode initiated here in the first area. You're not really going to have weapons and armor that powerful at the beginning. Though if it goes on the same slope from D2 it'll prolly be even easier, D1 you really couldn't just run into a huge room full of monsters and expect to live you had to find a chokepoint for the most part D2 didn't get difficult till hell ect.
