@seonidh It can be really good but it's rare. Next time go west or north they would (hopefully) have better music there. I live near the meetings and I never know when they have Irish music in it.
"The Druid's Government has been govern under the Brehon Laws under the Pagan High Kings under the Hill of Tara for over 2140 years before the birth of Christ.
Dear Born Again Pagan Celts lets celebrate a REVERSE PARADOX on MAEWYN SUCCAT Day. On March 17th lets RENAME Saint Patrick Day as CELTIC PAGAN LIBERATION DAY! With creative advertising we should be able to PROMOTE a REVERSE PARADOX by saying, "Wear all GREEN if you are Proud to be a BORN AGAIN PAGAN CELT!"
From spain derived the celtics in the 700 a.d's thats why theres ireland, scottland, u.k, they fled north from Ancient spain , thats why they are celts!
not quite. they spread ALL over Europe, and 2 different migration waves went to the british isles to become th irish, scotish, welsh, and brittons. eventually, due to the pressures of other expanding peoples, the only celts left were those on the isles
I'm in Alabama, and my wife (of 18 years) is Irish. There is definitely some kind of genetic behavioral thing going on. I love her, but she and her family just see life so weird. I thought it was them, but after watching some of these Irish videos, I thought I was watcing them. Even the taste in this type of music. It drives me CRAZY! But we have a wonderful 13 year old who excels in just about everything. By the way, my 74 year old father in law parties harder than I ever have.
@VanDamage919 C`mon n just cope with it. NO-one can take away the blood of an Irishmen. Even lamed with four or five generations, it still will roam. I`m Finnish but I still feel close relativity to Irish people after my annual trips to Dublin.
I love Ireland (though I live far away), and Irish songs feel so familiar and comforting. Also, two of my favorite composers Lennon & McCartney have Irish roots.
Come come, now...Randy could not only play this AT LEAST as well...he could also write. I do like how you mention the Great Randy...I wonder if he ever tried this type of music out? Love live RR!
Hallo dear musician fellows! Great job. We just posted a video to compare with an italian touch of mandolin. hope you like it. keep going! best regards from switzerland
amazing, the performance in general was both relaxing and lifting and doesnt follow the cliche that all irish songs are drunk men, simply wonderful, thank you. ^^
Thanks for posting this wonderful performance. I love Irish music, and I love strings' sound too as I'm a guitar player and I used to play some lute. I live in Argentina but I really love folk music of any country.
Can someone give the names to the tunes please? I like that one in the middle and know it to hear it but can't for the life of me, rememeber the name.
Beautiful music, ah, I really want to visit Ireland now!

The middle tune is quite similar to Blarney Pilgrim which is likely the tune you recognize.

The meeting of the waters was a bit boring
seonidh 11 months ago
@seonidh Near Rathdrum in County Wicklow? Bleh the east isn't the best for Irish music, you need to go to the west really.
BillabongMad1 8 months ago
@BillabongMad1 no the place not the song
seonidh 8 months ago
@seonidh yeah, The Meeting of the Waters near Rathdrum town? It's a pub?
BillabongMad1 8 months ago
@BillabongMad1 yes a pub with two rivers that meet at the back but they make so much hype about it being romantic.

It's a set of jjgs played by the Irish/American band Solas on the 'Solas' album (track #3)
The White Petticoat
Stan Chapman's
The Miller's Maggot
Nice live performance. The guitar chords on the 2 jig are a little 'cheap' ... The mandolins are good (nice harmony too ...).
