  • Would LOVE to have this transcription!

  • Hi! I love this piece, and I would like one copy or PDF for sheet music for this transcripitons. How I can this ?

  • This is a very good transcription. Certainly better than some of the transcriptions available. There are a few points I would make though. In striving for accuracy of notes there are some sections where it would be very difficult or awkward to play mostly in the left hand part. (e.g. m30, the first 2 eighths in the first beat of the left hand, is an awkward jump, as on m60 and m79-82.) continued...

  • While maintaining the accuracy of the notes the legato aspect of the line would be lost by the need to make such jumps resulting in a staccato sound. Also the arpeggiating the chords on m55-56 etc. maintains note integrity at the expense of intention of the sound. Many of these may be transferred to the pedal line.

The extra notes in the right hand part in m133 should be in the left hand (particularly if the keyboards have different stops set.)

  • Lastly, the trill in the last few measures is a trill on a 1-3-5 chord as opposed to a single note which would be played alternating (fingering) 1-3-5 and 2-4.

My orchestration teacher once pointed out that in transcription (in any direction) one must consider the aesthetic and emotional intent and not merely the notes.

  • @bgcat57 Thanks for your interest and comments. As always, these transcriptions are but guides to the interpreter of the piece.I assumed that this piece would be played on a large reverb cathedral setting so I wasn't too concerned about the staccato effect of m30,m79-82.The jump@m60 is JSB's.m55-56 is a 10-note reach,LH playable, only low A playable on pedal. m133 RH is actually easier to play than it looks.Trill taken as written by JSB. Note this tran.'s a study in direct transc.

  • I love to have this transcript. I will like to try and tinker it into a duet or trio for violin, viola, and cello.

  • this is great! I love how the bar follows the music. It help to make the notes make he to make sense of the notes going so fast.

  • I like your transcription better than any i've played. Can I get a PDF of this?

  • This transcription is amazing! I play the organ and I'd be very interested if I could get the PDF file.

  • @BaroqueMusik

Thanks. No, I majored in structural and civil engineering. However, I have a lifelong obsession with JSBach's music and I have written a couple of trio sonatas and an assortment of other Baroque pieces (see my fugues which are available on-line, e.g. my C-minor fugue) in addition to my most recent classical-style pieces (also available on-line). Please give me your e-mail address and I will send to you the PDF file.

  • @gngeannakakes I am also intrested in getting this music and I do play organ but not enough to be able to play this but this is something for me to work on :)

  • I used Finale 2010 to write the notes in. In polyphonic writing when there are two or more sets of voices (or sets of chords) it is difficult to write those different streams of music as one voice, so the red notes are layer two on a specific staff. Each staff can play up to four voices in finale so one could write for up to 12 voices. Therefore, all the notes you see on the screen are played. On measure 134 there are also green notes for a third voice on the top staff line.

  • Great! What were the red notes that weren't played?
