wow this really helps!! I always thought it seemed really hard to change a guitar string but this video proved me wrong!! I've broken 2 strings in the past 2 days so i need to learn how to change my own stringsinstead of bring the guitar all the way to the shop to get it fixed lol. thanks for the video!
THANKS MAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AWESOME VIDEO, helped me a lot, didn't know there was a back opening like that on my guitar and I've been playing it for over a year and a half =) (you can guess I never had a broken wire untill now, I'm a gentle man, what can I say =) )
@meneerMaxTeeuwen I'm still not exactly sure what you need, but you thread the string through the back of the bridge, then insert the string into the hole in the tuning key, and wind until string is tight. So follow the instructions in my video, I have the same tuning heads, and you should not have any further problems. Let me know if that works for you. Thanks.

Hey quick question. When I play my fifth string in a chord it sounds flat. However, the tuner says it is in tune. I googled it and many people said to tighten the horizontal screws on the bridge. I did that but it still sounds flat. Is it a string issue or a bridge issue?
@Grammarmatters14 - Are you using new strings? It may be an intonation issue, or possibly a worn fret. Identify which fret(s) the string sounds "flat". Check intonation and make necessary adjustments by hitting the harmonic @ 12th fret. Is string still in tune? If not, it's an intonation issue. That's where adjusting the bridge screws applies. If after trying these suggestions, and still sounds flat you may want to have a guitar tech check out your guitar
@xXBARLOWXx1 Gently take a small stick (I use a chopstick), poke down the string hole, and push string out the back. Don't force it. Sometimes you can move the string back and forth a little and it will dislodge itself on its own.
@colorchanginclick16 - I apologize for the delay in responding. The tuner is a "Qwik Tune QT11". It is fine for simple & quik tuning, I use it with my beginning students because it is a "bare-bones" tuner (i.e. simple to use). Cost less than $20.00. I don't recommend this tuner if you play in a lot of alternate tunings. For that you need a chromatic tuner. This is a simple, straight-forward guitar tuner.
Hey I have a question. Im new to playing guitars and i bought a strat style guitar. I noticed that Im more of a left-handed guitarist and was wondering if its possible to set my strings left-handed style even though the guitar itself is set for right-handed players? Any info would help guys thanks.
@prballer88 Welcome to playing guitar! Depending on where you bought the guitar and how long ago you bought it you may be able to exchange it for a left-handed model - that would be optimal. However, yes you can simply restring the guitar for left-handed play. You will have to adjust your string height at the bridge and most likely the nut too. Then reset the intonation. It is a process, and may best be done by a tech at your music store. The modifications may be a little costly.

hey troy, i was wondering, can i just take all of my strings off at once, clean the guitar and then restring all the strings together? will it affect my guitar?
(i mean can i take every single string off so there're no strings left on the guitar, then put them all back on again?)
@BIRANLOL - Yes, you can take all the strings off at once and clean the guitar. I do it all the time. The only time I change an individual string is when I break one.
@thirdeyeassassin LOL! I can't tell you how many strings I've broken over the years trying to figure out how to change strings!!!! It's a lot cheaper to do it yourself than taking it into the guitar store all the time though.
i hve a question man, since i got my strat i find that whenever i change strings, sometimes the string keeps comming out of the hole, is there anyway to solve it?
@doyawanfrieswiththat: Make sure there are at least two to three windings of strings around the tuning head post. So make sure there is plenty of extra string before you start winding. Hold the string firmly as you wind as well helps to keep string in hole. Sometimes the lower guage strings (.009, .010, .013, etc.) the unwrapped ones, tend to be more challenging. Try these suggestions, see it fhey work
@gij4m3s Without seeing your guitar I would say you either have your strings tuned an octave lower, or your action is set too low on your bridge. I would suggest taking your guitar to your local music store and have them check it out for you.
i have a question my bridge on my strat is popping out. wat does that mean? also is the high e string the easiest to break becuase every time i replace a string 4 it it always snaps.
@blackbronco100 Needs a little adjustment, nothing bad. High E strings are easy to break. Its hard to say why your string keeps breaking. If breaking at the nut, check to see if there is a burr on the nut. If breaking at the bridge there may be a rough spot or the angle is too high at the bridge saddle. If unsure you may want to take into your local music shop to see what they think.
@blackbronco100 Nothing is wrong. Tighten 2-outside screws on tremolo until about 1/8" clearance from body. Also, may need to tighten the trem. spring clamp under back plate too. If necessary insert a small block of wood behind tremolo on underside. Any of these 3-methods should help. These bridges take a little adjustment with time & string changes _ normal maintenance.

TechDechTNT. Usually if you insert a piece of a large string (or I use a 6" piece of coat hanger) through the bridge hole in front that will generally dislodge the ball end of the string and it will fall out of the tremolo plate on the back of your guitar. Sometimes, the bridge and the tremolo plate are not aligned in back, not allowing the string to fall. Use tremolo bar, push down while looking at the trem. plate on back. When bridge hole aligns with trem. plate, ball should fall out.

My guitar has a hole on top of the String-thing on the head of the guitar instead of on it. Does anyone know how that is called?
Becouse i don't know jow to replace my strings. I already waste a couple.
