Amiga - Street Fighter II (Character Endings)

I love Amiga but this street fighter 2 version is the worst conversion of all machines. its hardware doesn t allow to realize this type of game.

@kensou13 The hardware could do a LOT better than this. Super Street Fighter 2 was still a conversion that underused the hardware, still its EONS better than this.

Programmers were incompetent. That's the problem.

And the MS-DOS version was a lot worse.

@kensou13 Well, I'll respect your opinion. My time with the Amiga was also a time when I took a time from programming, so my experience programming for it is nearly zero.

But didn't it had unlimited vertical size for its sprites? The limitation was only horizontally IIRC. Also, Sword of Sodan had bigger sprites than this, with parallax scroll and more stuff moving to boot.

Also, take a look at Fighint Spirit, Elfmana and Shadow Fighter. Both are better programmed than this, on ECS mschines.

@rafaellima83 yes, sprite height is unlimited, but fighting games needs wideness. Amiga can display only 16 pixels width sprites. for 8 sprites max. its not enough to display 2 large sprites. i didn't know fighting spirit game, just had a look on youtube, this is not using sprites (so not managed by the hardware), The program might be using a soft coded routine to display sprites, that's why motion is slow and not smooth at all. same for body blows or any others fighting games

Bison's frames are all messed up on both Chun-Li's and Ken's fights. Were they on crack when they made this port? At the very least, they could have just based it on the SNES version, at least it wouldn't have been a half assed like this is.

Awesome, this is the best streetfighter II. Good music and fun characters. Brings back memories.

I just finished the GBA super street fighter II game, and it wasn't as good. Mainly the sound. And chun li's ending. It said the "fight for her never stops" while she should of course go to "being a single firl and have fun" ^_^

well done rick I used too be able to complete the game with rhu ken e hona Zangief and chun lee, but Bison always beat me with the others, thats quite an achievment completing it with Dalzim the amiga only had one button for kicks and punches!

There are so many hilarious, un-PC things shown here. I love it! Ken married his rubber love doll, while wearing a RED TUXEDO WITH RUFFLES. Guile's wife is at home, with pearls, perfect hair, an apron, and holding a tray of cookies. And, perhaps best of all, Zangief was doing the Cossack Dance (which, of course, all Russians do) with Premier Gorbachev in front of the Soviet Flag--nevermind the fact that the Soviet Union no longer existed when this game came out!

No dig at the Amiga, but all those street fighter games had totally unrealistic physics. What is that double-bounce when they hit the ground (sometimes but not other times)? Are they made of rubber? What was that brief levitation of one fighter at 1:45? Static electricity? And when that 400 pound sumo wrestler hurled himself at the little guy and just bounced off (in slow-motion yet). Hilarious! (unintentionally)

lol, its a computer. Not just one but a few versions came out. And later a console the cd32! It was more of a europe thing though..games mainly made in europe too.

came out in 80s and was still strong in 90s. Was close to the level of the genesis and snes and but had a waaay better sound chip so no midi music like snes/genesis.
