  • there more more machine now than man lol

  • The great thing about this movie is that "nemo" wants humanity to get his formulas...

  • cool. robots know to get rid of the evidence!

  • the one guy looks like sylar from Heroes...

  • Why doesn't someone just punch that jerk doctor in the face?!! Gosh!

  • This scene scared me as a kid.

  • The woman kind of reminds me the actress

Leslie Mann who's married to Judd Apatow.

  • the guy under the mask is gary nelson, the film director

  • Later the captain opened up a bail bonds office in Carson California.

  • they would kick R2D2's tin ass

  • You'd think they could make the little bots a bit more technical. Theyl look like cute toys with black buttons for eyes.

  • @nancy6ify They look exactly like what they are - Disney versions of R2-D2.

  • Alex is clearly gay, and a massive kiss ass.

  • Do all derelicts need big, bushy beards? Will 20 years living (virtually) alone make you grow a beard? Why trim it at all? And why cut your hair?

  • UGH, Vincent & Bob always looked soooooooo dorky!!

  • Zombie Crew!

  • Anybody who likes this movie has no right to complain about Keanu Reeves's acting. I'm not talking about the robots, but the robotic actors. The only guy emoting at all is the fat old dude who found the greenhouse.

  • Heres some trivia for you - the exposed crewman at 9:30 is played by the director Gary Nelson.

  • pause it at 0:05 - you can see the crewmans face.... creepy

  • The unmasking bit always scared the heck outta me as a kid.

  • 9:30!

  • Ultimate p'wnae by Vincent!

  • I think it's interesting that even with the technology they had at the time, the notes and formulas for the anti-gravity technology was written in a book, not a tape or disk or something along those lines.

  • @bartholomewfargo Reinhart says that he's a romantic, so in that regard it makes sense. He wasnt somthing more dramatic and poetic than a computer disk, he want a hand written tome, to impress upon everyone how brilliant he is that he figured this all out himself and not some computer

  • @weldonwin With all the technology today, in the end a real, object of creativity, of either art or the written word, will be worth more and thought of more than anything of that created in the virtual world...Perhaps Reinhart understands this too...

  • where can I get a mirror mask like the humanoids? now that is cool !!

  • Where can I get a Mirrot mask like that? now that is cool !!

  • It is funny how it is always the women who are the intuitive ones in science fiction. . . .

  • @Trudeau790 not true. R2D2 was a smart motherfucker and A MAN baby!!

  • i heard that a black hole is where god tried to divide by zero

  • @smp156 no a black hole is where god made a mistake and he's trying to cover it up!

  • @smp156 I think I heard that somewhere too!

  • @smp156 Whenever I look at cosmic phenomena I can't help but think there is no way something as incredible as the universe could exist without God to create it.

  • Flying into a black hole makes less sense than flying right into the sun.

  • THIS KATE IS HOT!!!!

  • @ummagumma00 You need to see her younger, when she starred in the Time Machine.

  • @ummagumma00 2:20 She certainly has a cute tush! :)

  • @ummagumma00 Even after 20 years in space and several drinks, I don't think I'd find her hot. Where's Deanna Troi when you need a hot space chick?

  • @dahanks1 How can those guys in Star Trek where skin tight uniforms around Beverly and Deanna and not pop embarrassing boners ruining scenes on a daily basis. Must be an actor's commitment to his craft!

  • @ummagumma00 I dunno, but they must be very dedicated. Either that, or there were a lot of outtakes. Luckily for me, none of my costars were ever that hot.

I take it from your response, however, that you tend to agree; Star Trek TNG babes are infinitely hotter. :-])

  • @ummagumma00 no she is not

  • @sleazypig c'mere and gimme a kiss sleazy!

  • @ummagumma00 Yeah you would be in to dudes since she looks like a dude.

  • about Reinhardt asking McCrae what changed her mind: in the novel, which was written from the movie script, there is a scene where he convinces her to stay "to carry on her fathers work"

  • Its impossible to see the clip of how nasty the crew really looked because Disney cleaned them up, it was to shocking at the time. This was when the movie originally came out in 1979 (I was 13 at the time). The look of the crew when the mask was taken off were zombie like with dryed up skin and bugged out eyes. you might be able to see it if you find some old disney vhs tape from the early 80's.

  • 1:15 Why didn't Vincent and Bob just throw the destroyed robots off the ship and let them drift away into space?

  • @triton115 They couldn't. It would take them too much time to get all the shattered pieces off the Cygnus. By then, would've been spotted by maybe Maximillian or other sentry robots.

Vincent: How long before they start searching for these two?

Bob: That depends on their duty schedule. That could be anytime.

Vincent: Then we've got to move fast.

  • @4226kw They could have perhaps temporarily disconnected the tubed pathway to the Palomino and thrown the shattered pieces off the Cygnus through the doorway, out through the forward elevator, and then the wreckage could have just flown harmlessly and unnoticed into space and perhaps even into the black hole.

  • If you want a specific indication Reinhardt took for Kate's wanting to stay, it is simply that, like Durant, she did not leave with the others during dinner.

  • In the Original movie release the humanoid was really gruesome

  • @monkeychunks1000 How so? Do you know where I could see it?

  • Reinhardt and Durant seem to have a thing going - lol... the facial expressions are pricelessly hillarious... Maybe Kate though - nah... I will just be a third-wheel... you guys go one withouth me... lol.

  • Nah i dont agree with you. He's just making a suggestion for her to stay.

He hopes she want to stay. He dont think she will asnwer yes but he still has to try to ask. I think the storyline is great so far.

  • Another inconsistency I've noted. Reinhardt asks Kate what changed her mind about accompanying him and Alex into the Black Hole, but she never indicated that she wanted to go. Either the script was piss poor, or there is a scene missing where Kate and Reinhardt discussed her remaining aboard and communicating telepathically with Vincent to let them know what was happening.

  • @Tommykey07 Quit pointing out things

  • @Tommykey07 *Sigh* Reinhardt is ASSUMING Kate would want to stay. You need to learn about body language! He hasn't seen a female in 2 decades. She's also a scientist. And she has ESP. He finds her extreemly interesting. Notice where he seats her at dinner. It's obvious he sees Alex as a protoge. Notice how Alex keeps pumping up Reinhardt's ego.
