KGON midnight Comedy Hour, late 70s,highschool.I went out and found the album;treasured it.was stolen, and I haven't heard this stuff since.Thank you for posting it!!!
Woody's stand-up routines are so incredibly good, I wish he had done more of them because listening to him speak is just as good as (if not better than!) watching any of his films. Let's face it, his best films are all about him portraying his characters. It's what he's good at; the rest of the actors are just like tools or clever plot devices to him in those films. What a great writer, what a great performer and what a great artist this man is, unbelievable.
@buscadoradesuenos No. I don't. I suppose that was my conveyed basis was that I didn't like him, but I was really referring to his stand up. His acting is great.
Mother! Does anyone have the tape of Woddy Allen's in which he has gone South to register voters and he's kidnapped by the KKK? All the time he's saying in a Brooklyn accent "Grits, grits" "y'all"
holy shit this actually made me laugh

I really don't find him funny, I'm wondering if that's just a difference in culture. Could the 50's really have been that different?

I don't think Woody hated stand-up at all. I think he hated the travelling and it was probably laziness as well.
