i use both canon and nikon but i am now waiting for them to make camera like LEICA M9 small retro and full frame also a 35mm lens with 1f. and compatibility with its older lenses. that's what i am waiting for. this beast is good but for only field work like sports and journalist. not for me..but i like it..

Lol $6800 for a Pro camera and you are complaining about the price, you would pay it off in less than a month if you shot a couple weddings.

@679alienallan, If you can squeeze in 1 wedding per week (pushing it I know) but at an average $3,000 per wedding, if you share money with an editor you could make $156,000 a year off 1 wedding a week, which is $78,000 each for you and an editor. Even a wedding once a month would bring you $36,000 a year. Photography when not "Just a hobby" can be quite profitable. Like me, I've shot 3 weddings, 1 as the main and 2 as backup and I'm only 19 and I've only been behind the camera for 1 year.

@175myles ...good one man....im in my early 20's and i work for a resort here in the Fiji Islands and have shot over 50 weddings in a 6 month period ..im not boasting about my work its just that we have alot of people out there in the world with talents that could change their life.....Photography is not just about big cameras and having all the gear....i wish i could have all those but we will just have to work with what we have...main thing is enjoying what we do best. Capturing those moments

5DMK3 should stay at 21.1MP which the MKII handles very well, noise is not an issue and cropability is outstanding.

18Megapixels? I think 14 MP is more than enough for most pro photographers. Less megapixels also means less noise.

@BryanMumble He's just saying it in comparison, you know. It's cheaper compared to the 1Ds Mark III which was the previous studio yet this takes over both the 1D and 1Ds series combining the two to create something great at sports, but still high enough resolution for a studio shot. In reality it's really cheap for it's abilities.. The only problem is.. I don't have a spare $6800 lying around :(

@jambinese This new camera combines everything...from the 5D mark 2's full frame, the 7D's 18.1MP ..the 1D MK 4 10 frames per second plus more....the new Digic 5 ! etc etc....you could use this camera for about any type of photography.....good to have this and the 5d mark 2 as a backup...you have speed and quality on the go !!!!
