I agree with your cons. :( I was a great drummer in local metal bands for 20+ years, and I have lost 98% of my friends, my family, all my old bandmates... I have a few friends that stuck by me through my transition, but it hurts so much when I think of how things were. Thank you for posting your videos.
i lost pretty much my entire family because my transition. it kinda sucks. my cousin recently got married and i was not able to go. only a few people even know i'm trans my mom being one of them. took her a LONG time to come around. I think she finally came to the conclusion i'm not going to "grow out of it" as she had hoped and made her opinion very known to me.

@taracavallero1982 I went from $140K a year to unemployed during my transition and then on to bankruptcy, losing my house, my cars, everything. Worked for FedEx loading planes for awhile, went back to school to get a teaching degree, worked three minimum wage jobs to support myself and my son through that, became a teacher and make at most $40K for six years, and then retired on $2K a month. No regrets,never been happier, would do it all again. This is just what happens.

You might hate your chin, but at least you were born with nice, big eyes. Big eyes make you look more feminine than you otherwise would. Also, it's good that you were born and raised in the U.S. - more acceptance and cheaper to transition.

@SitarKnight Yea, I'm an example of that. Figured I'd be a lesbian after transition about six weeks in I just started liking guys and my attraction for women just went away. I think my brain was wired to be heterosexual and just adjusted my preference as the HRT took hold and I feminized. I'm glad that it happened, but I didn't transition with the thought of dating guys. Glad it happened though :) No regrets!

First time trans video watcher so forgive the naive question but if society did not put gender rolls on people, like if people could just be, would you still have made the transition or would you just "be"? Is the transformation a rebellion against society's gender confinements?, is it your way to conform to the world around you by making your outside what your inside is?, did you look in the mirror and not like that your outside did not match what you are inside?, or something else? Jesslyn - you say you'd like to play music. So find a pro band looking for a guitarist on Craigslist. Any musician who is moderately talented, has transportation, no drug issues, and no ego is worth their weight in gold. Do it while you are young. You have great presence and you are talented.

if you are very masculine before transition and you have masculine friends, then they might find it hard during your transition. but if you're feminine and you have feminine friends, they will probably stick by you without any problems :)

First time trans video watcher so forgive the naive question but if society did not put gender rolls on people, like if people could just be, would you still have made the transition or would you just "be"? Is the transformation a rebellion against society's gender confinements?, is it your way to conform to the world around you by making your outside what your inside is?, did you look in the mirror and not like that your outside did not match what you are inside?, or something else? @lanceyourlot the estrogen will be required for life but after surgery you wont need to take the testostrone blockers and you will be on lower dosages of estrogen

Jesslyn - you say you'd like to play music. So find a pro band looking for a guitarist on Craigslist. Any musician who is moderately talented, has transportation, no drug issues, and no ego is worth their weight in gold. Do it while you are young. You have great presence and you are talented.

if you are very masculine before transition and you have masculine friends, then they might find it hard during your transition. but if you're feminine and you have feminine friends, they will probably stick by you without any problems :)

I'm 8 months on HRT myself. Which in itsself is a landmark because I'm notorious for not taking medication for much longer than a few days. But I guess if you want something bad enough you'll do anything, right?

I'm starting to see what you mean, my parents are telling me things like,"your just looking for attention," or,"your lying," and see stuff like that but like you said this is a life or death situation and I just cannot take being a man anymore. Its come to the point where I can't even look at myself without crying, that is why regardless what anyone else thinks I will transition. No matter how long it takes.
