@comeradeweepy wait till u see my new engine and turbo ,it makes 2x the power this setup did.
right now im in te middle of turbocharging my 89 iroc it has a sbc 400 with a t6 76mm turbo that im going to be upgrading to a 88mm turbo. once that cars done in about 2 weeks ill be putting my new turbo v6 motor and turbo setup into an 87 firebird i just picked up
great i love it. i built my 3.1L cam intake 4bbl carb 9.1 compression. what do you know about porting the stock cast iron cylinder heads.? did you do any work to your cylinder heads? can you port out the big hump in the intake side? do you know of any carbs that could be used on my engine if i decide to do a blow though turbo setup?
wow that's terrific power for a 3.1. must be lots of fun in that camaro. are you daves12secV6 on thirdgen (dot) org? since i've been reading your turbo build tutorial on there. sometime i'd like to drop one into my 91 Trans Am with the 305 TPI. maybe even a twin turbo, we'll see what happens! How much boost do you think a stock LB9 with 100,000 miles can handle?
thats fuckin SICK!! I jinherited my dads 86 Firebird with the lame 2.8 and want to swap in something with more balls that can walk a V8. Reason being is that i really dont want the hassle of getting it re smogged as a V8 car. The VIN and my insurance is on a V6 car so thats what i want to put in it.
do you have a video of how you made the turbo headers, or any plans that you can share with me? i got a 2.8 v6, and don't want to do the v8 swap so i can still retain some mpg's. if you don't, is there a way you can make a set, and what would you charge?
i want to avoid the extra weight of a v8, mainly for handling. i have thought about doing a 4.3 v6 because it will have impressive hp and torque in a light package. it doesn't do that good on gas, but i think after i lighten the car with fiberglass parts it might be a little better. my 86 camaro only has 60,000 miles on it so i wanted to keep the engine and see what i could do.
3.4 V6 is an indentical block to the 2.8 so you can still use all the front accecories. the 2.8 and 3.4 are NOT 90degrees V6's and use a different transmission setup then 4.3 and a V8. so 3.4 would be cost efficiant
damn i did not think you could do this with an old v6 maes me wonder what i could do with my v6 firebird

i'm not bashing or anything, but why a 3.1? a 350 with bolt ons, and a good tune would probably have the same hp and tq

man 305's are actually pretty lightweight and when built right they can be beastly cars, though i have to agree a 4.3 V6 would be mean

Ive got a set 2.8l, 3.1l and 3.4l v6 turbo headers and merdge-pipe with a t-3 flange that Im selling for $200.
Send me a message if your interested.
