@SkylarrL Good point, the minimum tools are a knife or scissors and a needle/tack/or sharpened wire for the burner holes. Part of the beauty of these is they can easily be built in the field, anywhere in the world you can find an aluminum beverage can.

Not shown (yet) I have a prototype with a copper wire heat exchanger that burns much hotter and faster. It will boil a full quart in about 5 min, but only burns about 15 min max.

for the simmer ring, you can just use a can opener instead if you dont have access to a jigsaw.
