  • Oh...sorry to have pulled you over...you're just another woman driver...my bad.....have a nice day now...

  • sounds like there is a laser gun in the background and I know there were tunugs nearby.

  • Cops like these are cool..like ones that if you have weed they'll dump it out and let you instead of a fine

  • i bet u drive a really nice crown victoria

  • I also noticed other then the tire you also didn't keep a very good barrier between you and the driver....your right in the window you should keep some distance

  • darn you should of videoed the next call you said you had to go to

  • i had a c5 corvette, and it actually does that,

  • This Video was on a episode of cops...

  • she was just a bad woman driver.... and the cop was stupid not to have her shut off the engine because his foot was right under the wheel.

  • You sound like Ray Romano lol

  • That guy riding with officer seemed to be quite annoying by acting like he knows everything and by pointing out what the drivers doing the police officer could see what she was doing dumbass

  • That guy riding with you seemed to be quite annoying lol

  • Are you ADA County Sheriff?

  • "Suspect is loose"

    "Requesting backup"

    "Officer Down"

    *falls to ground*

Jeez, it's quite annoying when people don't stop talking when they start..

  • the "wide tire in a groove" excuse sounded really dumb. but if she aint drunk, then i guess that makes her a bad driver.

  • Ok, so you're foot's in front of the tire. Still gotta lean in there and see what you can smell somehow! It's been a couple years since any response videos man! Subscribe to my channel, I have a couple private response videos that I'd have to add you to the list to be able to see.

  • she sounded really ditsy.

  • Where is this?

  • atatistcheff what police department, and what state?

  • I'm glad that you realized that you foot was in front of the rear tire, although I must confess I have to wonder if you knew it at the time, why you did it much less stayed in that position.

Also on a side note... Personally I try to avoid diagonal approaches at night, I prefer to circle and approach the passenger side.

Aren't ride-a-longs always full of so many... questions though!?! lol

  • Any particular reason you guys dont use breathalysers/alcolysers over there? Wouldn't it make detection certain and avoid all the crappy conversation :P

Here, blow into this, then either

    That's fine, good night or

    You're under arrest, cuffs out

  • @stedon101 PBT's are not admissable in court...What if it were drugs ... Drugs won't show up. An experienced Officer can tell if drinking or drugs are involved very quickly...

  • @stedon101 Many places (such as where I'm at), using the PBT before the field sobriety tests is a no-no. Defense attorney's like to argue that the PBT readings (which are not admissable in court) swayed the officer into believing someone was drunk. Stupid I know, but that's the way attorneys think sometimes. You're supposed to use PBT to verify your field sobriety test results, not the other way around. Just food for thought.

  • Yep definetly should have at least ran a code 10.

  • what is that wierd noise that sounded like an alien siren or something. it was weird.

  • hahaha.. I herd that too. That's funny, Must be the Alien Police. :)

  • In-car computer, probably just driver information returning.

  • that would be his computer, dispatch sending the Call to his CAD screen on the MDC

  • My mom is a licensed social worker; so far she got out of three tickets by saying one of her patients was in crisis.

  • Well, as long as they actually were...

  • Depends on your definition of "crisis."

She doesn't work for the state; she has her own practice. Most of her patients consider dead iPod batteries an emergency

  • who cares if they actually were?

  • I am a police officer in Colorado Springs, CO and I do believe that he should have checked the DL just in case. Even if the defendent is calm and relaxed does not mean he/she does not have a warrant or suspended DL. Sometimes a person will not even know they have a suspended DL or a warrant for something as small as failure to appear in court. Other than that, not a bad stop.

  • except for the fact that he took a diagonal approach to the vehicle, didn't check the trunk, stood right against the driver door , bent down to look in the window, everything from a tactical standpoint was incorrect....othre than that...not a bad stop

  • you approach it diagonally at night because the spotlight is in the drivers eyes and you dont want to cross that light or you can go around behind your squad to the passenger side

  • You all will be happy to know that I changed the title of this video. Of course, there's no such thing as a routine stop. When you start treating any police work as "routine" you put yourself and others at risk.

  • What was the electronic sound from 2:41 on to the end, and earlier in the video? Btw, I am ot a cop, I have no training as a cop, but I think you made a good decision based on how you were already responding to another call. You seem like a good cop, i think.

  • Laptop computer in the car.

  • Now, every police officer knows there's no such thing as a "Routine Traffic Stop"

  • I named it that to see how many people would comment...

  • lol, it does sound like slurred speech kinda, she sounds a little buzzed the way she's talking

  • and who says WE arent cops? Im an explorer and ive been thru training, and on 17 ride alongs...and have been around cops my WHOLE life...my whole fam is basically cops....so i know these things...dont be too quick to judge.

  • 17 ride alongs does not qualify you as" basically" a cop....

  • not to down explorers, cause i've done that, reserves, have a criminal justice degree and now full time. but they are just kids with toys, reserves get little respect to and they do all the work a full timer does with no pay. keep it up though, it's an uphill battle

  • well...still shoulda checked the license..u never know

  • Listen closer...

  • Haha. I love it when people go on youtube and tell real police officers how to do their jobs.

He's been through the training, he's had experience, he knows what he's doing.

My guess for him not checking her license is A: she had a valid reason for doing what she did B: she wasn't freaking out or denying anything and C: the officer had better things to do, like finding real people under the influence. He didn't want to be holding her up.

  • @22v Nothin like telling an officer what to do on a Monday night over YouTube.

  • i woulda told her to put the vehicle in park- looks like she wasnt and just had her foot on the brake. also the gun was too close to the drivers side! shoulda adjuster your stance!!! and aren' you supposed to get the ID before you talk about the reason for stop? and did u check her ID to make sure she was valid??

just sayin not trying to be a dick haha

  • As a do agree with most everything you say here, and I assume you have had training here, which I haven't (But soon hope too, wish me luck in the Interview), but wouldn't it be better to get the ID first that way when you tell them why you stopped them and they try and take off running, atleast you have some details.

  • exactly

  • what is that odd noise in the cruiser as he is pulling off the road??

  • I hate when people say "routine stop" there is absolutely NOTHING routine on a traffic stop, say misdemeanor stop

  • "Misdemeanor stop"

  • lol

  • I hate when people make excuses...

  • Branches in the roadway call I love it...should have just been like "Ok stop talking and drive off"

  • I wish all traffic stops were like this

  • the passenger should have exited, but i guess he was training or something. not the driver.

  • she was white

  • I'm not sure what you're implying. Just so you know, everybody here is white...

  • Hiiiiiiiiiiiiii ocifer....... haha glad you found her

  • he still should have checked her out by getting her out and doing a few tests, she sounded drunk

  • bad officer saftey. he leaned in toward her. touching the trunk is only optional. other than that: outstanding video. finnaly a video without a cop getting shot. makes my day to see safe traffic stops.

    great job,atatistcheff. post more soon.

  • He leaned towards her to catch a wiff of alcohol if any. Plus by the sound of the Women driver I don't think he had anything to worry about.

  • NYStrroper01, From what I believe, you are not yet a Trooper, you are only a MP? You can say bad officer safety all you want, but you need to realize you were speaking to or about a superior officer, or an officer that has been around a bit longer than you. I lean in towards people I pull over all the time to check for the smell of alcohol or any other narcotics. The deputy or officer did great. Nothing more and nothing less, and at least he admitted to the only mistake and noted that.

  • It's all good, detective. just personally, i wouldn't lean in becuz of a possible weapon. instead of using the whole sence of smell, i listen for slurred speech even though they don't always have it. ever cop has their own way of doing it. thanx for ur opinion, fell LEO. God Bless

  • yes, detective i kno i'm an mp. i respect the officer completely, but i was only making a statement about wat i observed and wat i've be trained to do. personally would never lean into it becuz of a possible weapon. i would just use my ears to check for slurred speech. i agree with you that he did great. thanx for ur opinion, Det.

  • good video

  • how come he doesnt touch the trunk like most cops?

  • it's not mandatory. we don't always do it

  • What do you mean by we, NYStrooper01?

  • No offensive but the best practice is the right side approach, always

  • The great thing about opinions is - everybody's got one.

  • I agree. and the right side is safer to.

  • The right side may be safer in your opinion. Now you put yourself in a LEO's shoes, wouldn't it be quicker if the guy or girl needed to be pulled out if you were on the drivers side? I see no need to go on the passenger's side, they are no longer on a major highway and are at a basic T intersection, so there would be no cars traveling at a high rate of speed.

  • Not in this case....

if he went to the passenger side, he would be down in the grass, further away from his drivers seat, if she sped off.

It is also not as well lit, because his cruiser is up on the road, (where it won't get stuck) so the most well lit area is the drivers side...

Also it is easier to take control of the situation, if he went down into the grass then the driver could just jump out and run...

There is no traffic so he is pretty safe on the left.

  • that is completely up to the officer, and seeing those current road conditions and traffic, i agree with the officers choice.

  • In Ohio, the indicator was the driving to give her an FST. She was using something that night. Even if she was a sleepy driver, I personally would have taken that on off the road.

  • There is nothing routine about a traffic stop, It is the most common ways police officers get killed or injured.

  • I agree bmdmaloclm there is no routine traffic stop.

  • I realy dont get it, why would she be driving like that? it seriously looked like she had been drinking.. Alot.

  • that would suck if she took off and ran ur foot over

  • That chick must be Stoned she was driving wiggly ~~~~~

  • Does your Dept. use Tiberon MDS as your mobile computer program ?

  • I don't think so. The user interface is home grown I believe. I'm sure there's some commercial software under there somewhere but I've never heard it called Tiberon.

  • atatistcheff, thank you, i was just curious cause all i've ever heard is a chime.

  • what's the sound that gets real loud at 1:04?

  • That sound is the point at which I switched the audio on the video clip from the camera mic to the recorder I had in my pocket. Basically the volume level just increases at that point. The sound is from the MDT (PC) it's just the sound that indicates you've been dispatched to a call.

  • How is the sound so good?

Do you have a mic set up on your shirt somewhere or something?

  • Digital recorder in the pocket.

  • Does your department use Tiburon?

  • Apparently not, since I don't know what that is.

  • No hand touch on the taillight? You should consider doing that.

  • an ok aprouch to the car but i was hideing in the trunk and she opened it now i just shot you what can you do now??

  • I'd be in heaven and you'd probably be dead from the ensuing pursuit (since I called in the plate) or you'd be in prison as somebody's biatch.

  • Hahahaha oh man good answer!

  • You sound like Ramathorn from supertroopers...

  • Ey can we see the car? I wana see the beast you're rolling in

  • It's got some black, some white, lights on top, ramming bars in the front, 20mm machineguns, etc.

  • Sweet, a tank with lights. Nice!

  • there is no such thing as routine

  • Sage advice as always.

  • whats that noise in 1:00? a rumbler?

    good work keep it up

  • sounded like some kind of alarm that signals that the lights are on or something

  • ok thanks for the info.

  • Read my response for the answer.

  • It's his laptop giving him an alert that he has been dispatched to a call.

  • ok thanks

  • typical women driver. Can't drive in a straight line lol.

  • i can ive driving my pckup for over a year iam a woman.

  • wow that ladys a chatter box

  • No traffic stop is ever routine.

  • omg i know people like to just ramble on even when you need to go! stupid idiots i swear!

  • Hey bud, great vid. I was about to mention the foot by the wheel, but you beat me to it. Important note for many cops out there. Keep it coming!

  • he let her go?! She was drunk so bad

  • are u retarded?

  • Video was interesting and humorous. Two thumbs up!

    BrandoN

  • Great video - very informative. I look forward to viewing your other videos. :)

  • GOt any light set up videos with sirens?

  • i love that "HI OFFICER!!!" lol this lady is a moron!

  • Nice Video, It's a little more personal without all that data that is usually displayed in dash cam screens, kind of an inside look at what goes on before a traffic stop, Stuff you never see on TV!!! Keep Em' coming, I'm diggin' them!!!!!

  • im curious how you managed to have the sound in this video when you were outside of the cruiser. did you use a digital voice recorder and put the sound into the video afterwards when you were editing?

anyway. great vid. keep 'em coming.

  • Yep, you got it.

  • Who's the one with all the questions?

  • I had a friend riding with me that night. The noise is the MDT (laptop), when we're dispatched to a call that's the alert sound it makes.

  • Great video as always :D

  • what is that swishing sound
