  • I shot him today!

  • Nice catch man, what a short train! Was this catched on a weekend?

  • @WhiskeyCentral Thanks, buddy. Yep, it was, indeed. Sunday afternoon, around 2:45. I just happened to be crossing the tracks on Caton Farm and saw the headlight approaching. I then proceeded to downtown Plainfield.

  • @NicTrain35 Yeah that is what I had thought because usually on Sunday they return around noonish with a very short train.

  • @WhiskeyCentral Yep, Sunday definitely seems to be their short day. This past Saturday, I saw them going through Caton Farm at 5:30 P.M.

  • @NicTrain35 Well, bcuz i am also a pretty serious model railroader, these road names will live on in my ho and n scale rosters.....i have plently of Burlington Northern, a couple of EJ&E locos, and im trying to keep an eye out for IC in the black widow scheme wherever i can. Plenty of white and orange out there...but i like the black widow best.....

  • @mercenary454 Model railroading is also a hobby of mine. That's a nice collection that you have with the BN and EJ&E. I own locomotives from the BN and EJ&E, but like you, I also don't have an IC deathstar loco yet. If I could find one at a reasonable price, I would pick it up. The deathstar is quite a sharp scheme.

  • @adamski3119 im just bummed that CN comes along and gobbles up all these icons of american railroading....i mean shit, how would casey jones feel if he knew illinois central was now owned by a canadian company? i dont care if the road names were struggling and CN saved them from extinction, or that the ppl who work there have jobs now or whatever...i just cant wrap my head around the whoring out of america...grrr.....

  • @mercenary454: I got to admit that I'm also disappointed how CN is removing a lot of the great RR's. Hopefully, the paint schemes stick around for quite a while.

  • Hell yes! Awesome catch! I caught one of those IC '40s in Franklin Park awhile ago.

  • @Nachtwolf1 Thanks! Nice catch to you as well.

  • awesome sight/sound!

  • @adamski3119 Thanks!

  • That and i wonder where all the EJ&E loco's are......frickin CN....

  • @mercenary454 I saw two EJ&E's in the CN yard that passes under I-80 yesterday..not sure what numbers or what the name of the yard is though

  • @adamski3119 Nice. I believe those would be #'s 657 and 673 (East Joliet Yard).

  • @mercenary454 A couple of them are working around the Joliet Yard, as of right now.

  • NICE!!!

  • @dwkcamman611 Thanks!

  • Man and I thought all the IC SD40-2's were painted over. Awesome catch and lash-up Nick

  • @UPDetector: Thanks. I believe there's still about 5 or six remaining.

  • CN.....ugh......

  • @mercenary454: Yeah, if only that second unit were in deathstar paint.

  • Awesome railfan video.

  • @dutchtrainmanserie22: Thank you.

  • All I can say is WOW! That is one great looking unit, cool Operation lifesaver patch on the side too

  • @metraF40PH163: Thanks. It sure is a sharp unit. It even has its white safety stripe in tact.
