you can see he's at like his lowest point here with the drinking, but even still it wasn't that bad, I'd rather watch this than MCR haha! but yeeee we can forgive Ville for being drunk it was tough times, but I will say that even 2006 was probably his drunkest period they performed probably the best performance I've ever seen from them at Pukkelpop!

Oh my god. I'm glad he's sober now. In this video, he doesn't seem to be able to judge what tricks sound good so he's using them all. That mixed with the fact that he doesn't stay close enough to the mic makes it sound confused.

no if you watch interviews well certain ones of course he'll say he likes to change it up he doesnt want the concert to be the same as the albums so he changes them on stage and i love it personally so its never the same with HIM i love it :]

I find it a little strange that he says that, because in every single live HIM video I've ever seen the band doesn't deviate from the original album track at all, apart from occasionally speeding up or slowing down the tempo. In my opinion this makes them a competent, but not particularly interesting or engaging live band. Eg, in "Sleepwalking Past Hope" there is the perfect opportunity for an instrumental jam with extended solos. But no, all we get is a brief breakdown+solo then Ville returns.

Well, you're right, I've seen two songs so far that were altered for the live performance - a rendition of Endless Dark (I think) with an extended guitar solo, and It's All Tears with a brief solo by each member of the band preceding it. Could you link me to any others?
