i see a lot of people complaining about the whole 200k USD to use this thing. Yes by all means that is still out of reach of the average guy, but hell, thats leaps and bounds better than the several million dollars of each of NASA's launches. Of course it is a bit unfair to compare the two, but it is still space flight at the end of the day
Well i know in my lifetime i may not get chance to experience it :) but its a good thought for the future of my kids etc, or their kids, because after a few decades, space flight will be as cheap as a flight we have for a holiday to spain :)
If we get that much disbelief from mentioning it, imagine what Richard branson endured while the project was in its infancy, but i suppose that is the mark of a true visionary: they never give up
You got to give em credit. Just look at how many views this has. This should have way more. It has yet to properly reach the international conscience. I have been following this development for over 5 years now. Whenever i have mentioned this or commercial space travel to my pears i have just been laughed at. Well not only is it now an actual reality, with working spacecraft, but virgin recently began construction of the space port.
The problem is that one day space travel will loose its magic. Soon everyone will go to space. Maybe the next challenge is going out of the milky way! XD
If only they can make the entire front part of the plane out of transparent material, like that of fighter plan to ensure panoramic view, the experience will be heavenly...
@flynny42 well i think it's worth enough..not all people could go to space and it becomes dreams to all people..now we don't need to be astronaut to see how beautiful of outer space
See the people who disliked this, their 13 idiots. The fuel used is hydrogen and Oxygen, when they're slowly mixed they let off an eco friendly flame. If they can keep that ship going and not dump it then, this will be so eco friendly, more so than than cars which are ruining our planet. -.-
And what people will find on "earth" if they continue to promote so much polued activities ?? A fucking big desert without drinking water and only bigmac to survive...this is my vision of appocalypse.

@Jimbob8971 NASA killed NASA. I have personally talked to 3 astronauts and all had the same opinion about the structure and politics of NASA. Bad decision based off of politics and not science. They sat on patents for decades that would have brought NASA into the next generation of space exploration but the companies involved were making more off the Shuttle program. One very prominent astronaut said to me the shuttle program was built around the shuttle not built around the mission.
It costs the taxpayers 51 million dollars to send 1 astronaut to and from the space station. In a mere couple years Sir Branson dropped the price to $200.000. Do the math! Even for the normal person I see it as a possibility before I have grand kids. At the risk of sounding cliche I cant wait for our world to step out into the final frontier and me along with the rest!

@HAYRIPITIR1 No. There is loads of debree in space. Ice, shardsof rock that orbits the earth from millions of years of impacts on the earths surface. Also space junk. There are solar orbital debree to. On lunar missions one of the biggest hazards is solar debree. People dont realise how much there is in space.
@HAYRIPITIR1 No, but thats a fact.. There is loads of shit in space... It would be much weirder if we never caught footage of a piece of space debree. It would be so statistically bizarre if we never caught one...
ALTITUDE "FREE FLIGHT ON VIRGIN GALACTIC" Critically Acclaimed Super Inspirational-Relaxing-Soundtrack MUSIC as featured on Virgin Galactic NEW - JUNE 2010 ON My Channel *** NOW
So what is the next step? After a roller-coaster ride into space and back fulfills the entertainment/novelty aspect - what is the practical commercialization plan? Will this be the Spindrift (ala Land of the Giants) of sending ppl quickly across the globe? What of an orbital hotel on the way to a lunar base? All exciting stuff - but vaporware if there is not a vision or commercial value.
U.S. taxpayers paid $198 million dollars to build this spaceport. I've heard nothing about any plans to give it back. Furthermore they could sell the whole company to a foreign investor tommorow. The people that are going to be flying into space, are the same people that bet against the American economy and put your friends and familiy out of a job and out on the street. So though the idea of it all my seem "cool", the reality is that everyone just got their pockets picked, again...
Why wouldn't you people want to go to space? I'm thinking about depositing a small amount of money for some 20 years of my life just to experience this.
mmm, i dont know actually i feel kinda weird, i work hard to pay the rent, i notice more all the financial problems around the world, and this.. virgin´s dude want to go to space, its kinda ironic, this monetary system is so flawed and stupid. i want to laugh and cry but i dont have much time cuz i have to work to pay the rent and food and a couple useless stuff that makes my life kinda confortable..... kinda!
Nice! A high-tech roller-coaster for the elite. That's exactly what this nation needs to get back on it's feet... Who needs to "go where no man has gone before" when you can take a "breath-taking" journey to somewhere "safe" and familiar. What a waste of resources. This industry offers nothing to further the progress of humankind. Stack that paper Richard!
@thoromicina well it offers a lot to mankind. according to everyone who's been in space, it changes your view of the world. if we can get all those rich bastards up there so that they can change their views, then maybe we ll have a better world!
this is bullcrap 5 mins in 0g just go swimming its cheeeper. i think? also dont you think space travel is a bit old hat. we been going into space for like 60 years what with scram jets and other hybrid craft (space shuttle thats got to be a duck blind)i mean its so shit..
This is what my retirement fund is going towards. And since I'll be out of money I'm just going to have them jettison me into space at the end of the ride.
Stop moaning about the costs. It isn't cheap to operate. They will be making fuck all profit on this. Big up to Sir RB for making this happen.

There are solar orbital debree to. On lunar missions one of the biggest hazards is solar debree. People dont realise how much there is in space.

@channelyourvoice sure thats thats what cia say about ufo do you worlk for them
HAYRIPITIR1 1 year ago
@HAYRIPITIR1 No, but thats a fact.. There is loads of shit in space... It would be much weirder if we never caught footage of a piece of space debree. It would be so statistically bizarre if we never caught one...

To:@metron626
Sure..a waste of resources, time, efforts..blah blah blah hehehe I bet if you had the spare money to do it, you would.
I know..it`s soooo futile, it offers nothing to mankind, but then again..what a great trip this would be, right?
By the way, I know I`ll never have that kind of money to go to space, but sure wish I did just to look at God`s creation from up there.
God Bless you mr.
thoromicina 1 year ago
@thoromicina well it offers a lot to mankind. according to everyone who's been in space, it changes your view of the world. if we can get all those rich bastards up there so that they can change their views, then maybe we ll have a better world!

@661Sunshine I must admit you`re totally right about this, your point of view beats mine.. =)

@thoromicina Why not pray to god to lift you into space...Jesus says in the bible that every prayer will be answered.. Try it.

This is what my retirement fund is going towards. And since I'll be out of money I'm just going to have them jettison me into space at the end of the ride.
