ChiChi always made me laugh and brought a different tone in the Dub than the original because they did change a few things. While a lot of people find her bitchier, I just say they just jealous of her badassery

@ASwiftHippie English version changed it dramatically. I've seen DBZ in Spanish, French, and Japanese with subtitles. They all say the same thing. However, Funimation changed the English version way more than people think.

@Gashbelly That's fine, we all have our personal preferences. I actually started watching the Funi dub when I first watched DBZ. However, as I got more interested in the show, I wanted to learn more about the characters, plot, voice actors, etc. I soon realized that the English dub changed many things from the original. I like DBZ a lot but I also don't like being misinformed when a character says something. Plus, the Japanese version is less restrictive on language than the English uncut DBZ.

@Android17Marketplace For details, always go to the source ;-) I watched the dub that spawned the "OVER 9000" meme. Usually though I prefer the japanese version or just any original dub over other dubs simply because of wanting to avoid translation errors. Especially in shows like death note etc, where easily lost details matter quite a bit.

I wanted to know the details and the proper translations because even the smallest change can make a huge difference. It can lead to a misconstrued perceptions of a character's thoughts, behaviors, and actions.

@Ghuntu1 It resulted in a lot of errors that can messed up the storyline. For example, they originally dubbed android 18 and 17 as being made from human counterparts, whereas in reality they were runaways kidnapped by Dr. Gero and who then performed experiments on them. Also, when Vegeta met Goku and was about to transform in a Great Ape, he said that "Bardock was a brilliant scientist", which he was not. There's more but it would take too long to write it out. :P
