fsx=good graphics, friendly, bright, u need a good pc, sucks at detecting stalls, has bad braking limits.

fs9-good framerates, good graphics if modified, good with scenery addons and alot of plane addons

@Lvieru96 You can always get great frame rates with FSX if you have the right stuff and know how to optimize. If you don't there are websites that show you how to optimize. I have a lot of settings on high or max (including weather) And I get my 60FPS maximum (limited by LCD monitor)

I think, if you give it a chance, fs9 is better in some things. If I put my FSX settings high, it's almost the same if I put my settings to high with fs9. But FSX has beautiful graphics, that's a fact.

FSX is better. whatever way you look at it.

Fsx has a much better graphics engine. The overall level of detail and graphics will beat fs2004 no matter how many add ons you have.

@pirocanac93 I hate scenery and traffic, because they eat up frames and are quite pointless! Level-D simulators that real pilots train in do not have scenery and all that crap - they focus on the flight dynamics.

I think both sims have their perks, but FSX is better. There are, however, far more addons for FS2004 than FSX, which could even things out.

FS9 runs much better than FSX, but there's still a few things in FSX that FS9 will never have. But the two things that all FS games miss are ILS alarms and warnings, as well as 3/4 of the rest of the cockpit controls be operable.

I have a 3,6ghz overclocked C2D E6600 a XFX 8800GTS and 1050MHZ PC8500 2GB GEIL on a gigabyte P35 DQ6 motherboard with a antec 550watt power supply and on med high settings i get like 15 fps in huge city's in fsx. It is on Vista but still with all available fixes. So id call that a pretty big machine. So forget FSX. Unless you play on xp with a familiar system to mine. FS9 can be much more beautifull btw with alot of scenery addons while fsx doesnt have lots of scenery addons yet.

It does now. Ground environment x plus Flight environment x and utx really help the fps.

 Flight has never looked so real in a pc based fs.

Yeah, Crysis is mainly GPU reliant. In FSX, the autogen is primitive looking, but really bogs the CPU down.

I use satellite scenery now. It look a million times better, and I get between 80 and 150 FPS with everything maxed out. That autogen is bullshit. Don't know what Microsoft was thinking.

most gamming rigs can run crysis on high mine can if i put it on very high i get like 2 fps on fsx i usually get between 20fps - 30fps.

@flightsimrocks I agree - I have fsx, but have to have a small amount of scenery so I can get 25-30 fps - especially for add-on aircraft! FS2004, however, you can set it to maximum, and get lots of great add-ons that allow the sky and terrain quality to compete with that of fsx. FS2004 has many more good add-ons too!

i have both versions, fs9 on my old pc, lots of payware addons and it looks great and its very enjoyable to fly. fSX on my new pc runs fast and now im starting to add payware as it gets released.

Fsx runs fast and looks better becouse it runs in a higher resolution.But i still like to play both.There isnt much difference really sept for the water effect and ground resolutions.If you own fs9 with lots of payware i would say wait for fs11 if you can wait that long.

i got a new 7800 graphics card and 2004 runs prty much high spec on everything while fsx looks like flight simulator 98 even with new graphics card + addons work great in 2004 on mine so i stick with fs2004

well you cant just have a good card, you got to have good processer RAM harddrive. i have a very good PC, im geeting the same framerates as i did with FS9, with good graphics and animations, so basicly you got to have good evrything

fsx right now has too many bugs(slow loading terrain, bad framerates even with powerful computers), and needs alot of computer power to run smoothly. Dont even bother getting fsx if your computer is over 3 years old or has an old pentium 4 processor, cause youll jus be looking at a slideshow

FS2004 would ever remain more popular than FSX for at LEAST the next 3 years.Did you have both service pack 1&2 installed for the Flight1 ATR?
