@rkjeldgaard Wow being a vocolist I usually catch shit like that but you are right he sounds like Sammy. I even owned this CD back in the day and never made the connection.
I don't know how I missed these guys back in the day because I was a hard rock fanatic, and still am actually. Thanks to internet "Hair Band" radio stations I recently discovered them. It doesn't get any better than this song, they should have been huge! Maybe it was just bad timing with their debut album in 1990 as this type of music was dying, a few years earlier and it would have been a different story.
@batt42 I've listened to these guys for years. I never thought about that...too funny!!!! No the singer is not Weird Al...it is Kelly Keeling. Thaks for the laugh!!
Kelly Keeling is a ferociously talented musician and while most will not consider this his best work, this is where he was introduced to the mainstream. He's an absolute beast of a vocalist, bassist and all around musician.
Heh...these bands were a dime a dozen in 1989. Funny thing was, we knew every one of them. This one was like a mix of Jackyl / Slaughter / Extreme / Warrant / Poison and Sammy Hagar IMO.
i thought I new allot of 80's music back as a kid but after lessening to Sirius radio hair nation i was wrong .there's allot of 80's music that i think didn't get the publicity or radio time they've deserved.iI think theres allot of 80's music that had got pushed a side that shouldn't of just saying these guys rock!
I love this band, and this song. However, the trend of silliness is what killed this genre of music. In hindsight i realized, the formula was to combine previously successful elements of other bands to sell it. The song is much like 'Way CoolJr.' by Ratt, the video is very reminiscent of 'Cherry Pie' by Warrant, and the singer sounds very much like David Coverdale. It's a shame the corporate big wig jerkoffs took over and destroyed a great music scene.
@Danuch113ny although i do partially agree with your comment i have to dissagree on your reason for the demise of rock in the earlie 90's, GRUNGE ruined the rock scene, all of a sudden if u had long hair and played fast virtuoso guitar solos you where known as a poodle perm twiddley merchant, you had to ware padded checked shirts, docker boots and have an i dont give a fuck attitudde, thaen that soft twat KURT COBAINE killed himself and the worled flocked to grunge, it used to be about the music
@z06forme Dude, I know. It's all messed up now. I remember when they started doing the game and reality shows - it just went downhill from there. I remember being a kid staying with my cousin who was 7 yrs. older than me - we stayed up watching all the videos, even had blank VHS tapes to record our favorite videos! It was great. Now, TOTAL trash!!!! MTV Europe isn't too bad - more videos than anything else, BUT it's mostly dance/pop/techno music.
@BlazeMMDR what I appreciate about the late 80's big hair bands, is that they wrote all their own stuff. The songs didn't come through a clearing house, or sampling of 20 other songs like what is done now. AMEN!! Fact is people say hairband's are gay when in fact the bands today are fake not to mention fake!! They do not write shit today ....it is all written for them, where is the feeling in that ,there is none.
the lyrics walks like a woman ,BUT,..........ACTS LIKE A LITTLE GIRL!!!!!!!!!! , SO FUCKIN TRUE,PUSSY IS NOT WORTH MISERY ,JERKING OFF IS THE WAY TO GO.NO YEAST INFECTIONS, NO RAGS,NO COMPLAINING ,PINK SAID IT RIGHT ,YOU AND YOUR HAND ,DAMN FUCKIN RIGHT ,MORE MONEY FOR ME AND LESS BULLSHIT,

I own this cd and many other great ones from the early 80s and 90s! Im a child that became of life in 1970. Started out with kiss and then def leppard, quiet riot scorpions, motley crue and ratt, then everything else came in this band baton rouge and heavens edge and Eyes were all great bands from the 1990s era not to forget HardLine,Mcauley schenker Group, Lillian Axe and Heavy Bones. my collection runs so deep I had to make a playlist on my I pod I call The BoneYard it has 756 from A to Z
Just posted this song on Facebook, since it contains one of my all time fave lyrics- "Sticks and stones can break your bones, but broken hearts can shake your soul...." LOVE THIS SONG!!!! Thanks to the person who put it on youtube, you rock.
Isn't that Bobbie Brown? She was in the video for Cinderella's Shelter Me and Warrant's Cherry Pie. This song is from 1990 so it could be her but this video really suck.
Good riff, not bad chorus, average singer. Hair metal is one of the most vocally demanding musical genres...a lot depends on the frontman being able to hit really high notes. Some bands worked around that - Joe Elliott was never that strong a singer, but Def Leppard had a really superb producer (Mutt Lange) to compensate - but usually, if the singer didn't have the pipes, the band was screwed. This guy isn't that good-looking, either (another important hair metal requirement).
And the award for "best song with the worst video" goes to Baton Rouge!... Geez... this is what happens when you make a video that tries to follow the song's lyrics too closely. Exceedingly good song, though!
this rap an hip hop stuff is taking over the world now. guns n roses, acdc, motley crue, babalon ad, poison, warrant, and baton rouge needs to make some more songs so hard rock can come back. im only 12 and i love this music.

The song "Desperate" was originally done by a band called Babylon A.D. & written by Jack Ponti, who produced both Babylon A.D.'s first album & Baton Rouge's 2nd album - called "Lights Out On The Playground". Both versions are terrific, but B.A.D.'s version was slightly better & much more successful commercially.
i love this song... actually most of both there albums were great.... but this video.. wtf! cartoony sets and all? its like watching spongebob plus tits!!! i hope that director got hit by a truck!!!
