Coal seam mining has a very dark history. Halliburton really started all this technology decades ago in the US. The Vice President, Dick Cheney pushed to get an environmental waiver from the clean water act for coal seam mining. strangely enough he used to be the halliburton CEO. Its not just about unsafe procedures, up to and including fracking, but also tests the true intent of the land rights issues. So much for clean energy alternatives and the so called concern for "future generations".
Tara - home of the "Blockys' & "Prickle farmers" , The signs on the Warrego Highway should say "dont grow drugs on premium gas land'......cause thats all Tara is good for.
Tara is home to 2000 people, the vast majority of whom don't grow drugs. The pricks seem to live elsewhere judging by your comments. How about a sign on the Warrego highway providing directions to your house. We can start drilling for gas next door whenever you like.
Bet you lot wouldnt be complaining if ya had a job at QGC...Try looking at the positives the good things that QGC brings to community...Most of the land that they are using for the gaswells arnt exactlly prime farming land most of it you would be flat feeding a goanna on so its no real loss
It's no real loss it it? How about the people who live there. Would you like to live there with your wife and kids. You don't mind unless it happens in your back yard, then you'd be spitting chips wouldn't you Bj. What you don't realise is you're going to get screwed by CSG too! It's just going to take a little longer. Enjoy all those positives while they last!
@bj1991qld well i prefer to keep the farming lands there, if they don't work out in the future then the gas wouldnt have gone any where. and some of the rig are going into farming basins and i dont feel like having that in the food we eat.
Remember the words of the Mabo decision. Terra Nullius is nothing but "errant racist nonsense," This means that the British never actually established legitimate territorial sovereignty in Australia yet you are letting them - and it is a descendant of the British Empire walk all over you. !
The sad fact of the matter is that by the time everyone realises what a devastating impact this leave on this wonderful country, it will be TOO LATE - the people responsible for changing the laws and letting this happen will have moved on and unable to be held responsible for their bad decisions... jobs are NOT worth desecrating our land for under ANY circumstances. Bligh and her ilk sicken me...
I just got home. The first thing I see is this. I'm crying now. I don't want to be crying. I wish I could rejoice over the good decisions we're making, but I simply can't. Human innovation has really become human deprivation.
This is absolutely disgusting...we should hang our heads in shame as a species!!! Look what we are doing to our beautiful planet and all for GREED!!! Good on ya Bligh your days are numbered !
To the people of Tara and Chinchilla I'm am sorry for your loss and do whatever it takes to get these greedy, evil companies out!
I heard an anthropologist reference Easter Island and say we have the opportunity to learn from the human created destruction there .... however we are doing worse with this disgusting CSG. Generations to come will be unforgiving over our greed.
It's bloody disgusting. The war we have to have is here in our own nation.

@LockTheGate Bring the rig in next to my place anytime you like, at least I would'nt have to travel too far to go to work.

Either you have a death wish or you're congenitally stupid. Most likely both by the sounds of it!
Your gate will be locked soon.
