I legit just got lice this morning and I tried one of these kits and when I was done the itching went down only slightly, but I still had so many freaking nits and adults sucking my blood! I really want these gone fast cause my first day of high school is in one week but I just can't seem to find anything affordable on Massachusetts for lice removal! Options?

the real secret to combing out nits eggs, is to comb towards the roots of the hair rather than away. eggs snap off when you comb towards the scalp, wheras when you comb away they slide between the teeth of the comb and it takes hours. if you comb down wards towards the scalp twice and away once everthing in that section comes away.

Ugh I got lice for the first time when i was at the beach. My poor mother had to clean the whole place (we were renting) and from then on she had to clean my hair. Strangely enough, my school sent a notice home about a lice infestation later. Whoops. :P

This is just a commercial so you buy the product. It does not show that cheap plastic comb breaking & after spending 3-4-5 hours your child coming to you itching his/her head? Best thing is heat on those suckers. Think about this...If lice can't survive a hot wash & a dryer w/the bedding or clothes? what happens if you use heat on head? hairdryers & straighteners are the worse enemy.

thanks for advice, this is a nightmare!!! If any one ever has to deal with lice, this is how i got rid of it. Used Rid shampoo, got a spraw bottle & filled it with white vinegar & sprayed it on her hair before i combed through it (it works) & buy a few bottles of Pronto( Rite Aid ) to spray house, this really works! AND DONT SHARE HAIR BRUSHES,HATS OR HAIR BANDS WITH ANY ONE!!

african american hair having lice is rare but I think that's do to the shape of the hair follicle or shaft that make it hard for lice to lay their eggs... as opposed to caucasion hair.. so anyone can get lice.. just don't come into head to head contact or using stuff like brushes and then sharing them..

Tea Tree Oil indeed kills them........makes hair shine........still have to nit pick by hand grrrr.......they are immuned to store bought our Rx killers but Tea Tree OIl kills them almost on contact(only need a tiny bit per bottle of any conditioner)

the thing they said about nits/lice living on combs and bedding is a myth!!!they can only survive withthe heat of the head thats why they are mostly found behind ears nape of neck and on the crown of the head these r the hotspots if they somehow do get on bedding there is no need to worry they will die within an hour.they also cant survive a certain (temp)I.E. above 55 degrees so get out there sun bathing. lol

Actually - it does work on all hair types because the main ingredient allows the comb to just glide through the hair (any type of hair!), so you don't get stuck in tangles like with other products.
