It's as if you were able to freeze an N64 playing Zelda, take the cart out, put in Mario Kart, unfreeze the N64, and it still works (for the most part; doesn't crash) because the basic things like the game engine is in RAM. However, once it tries to load things from the cart, it gets different, seemingly random (however it's not random) data.
Dude, there is an easier way! Why open a new rom when you could just open a savestate from another game or another version of the game, then reload the savestate!
This is actually really simple, although confusing as to WHY it works... Does anyone know why you would be able to load an Ocarina of Time save state to a Mario Kart 64 rom?
@linkvsnaruto i think i kind of know how it works... when you play the game on the correct rom, it can load the correct values and codes. when you tilt the cartridge, it can only load part or none of the code and/or value. in this example, the codes loaded different. say, for an example to make it simpler, you have a guy in a room. normally, when you press up, he moves his feet in a walking motion. if you have codes from a different game instead of the original codes, it may move the guys arm
@netherworld97 That answered nothing at all, actually. My issue is with the fact that it's loading on a Mario Kart 64 ROM... HOW does the ario Kart 64 ROM have the data to load a Zelda save state?
@linkvsnaruto no offense, but you missed an M on Mario Kart 64. but anyways, to answer your question, it saves the data being used on the save state, so that data is loaded. however, when you load it with another ROM, (in this case. Mario Kart 64) the same data is loaded, but then it tries to load more data, it gets different data.
simply put, the Mario kart 64 doesn't have the data, the save state itself has the data.
@MrPsyStorm uhh... ok take watch the WHOLE video, find one like this with a REAL N64, and if the resaults are the same, there you go. its not truly cc but there is no CARTRIDGE to TILT. ok?
Only can be done with GameShark Codes, if on Emulator, use the built-in Cheats System. If on N64 Console, use a GameShark Cartridge or Passport Plus III which has Cheats system built-in to the cartridge. If you need sources then you'll find them on Ebay & Google. :)
I did this and put a different video on of this I didn't know it had already been done, but then again mine was first so... COPIER... YOU ARE A PLAGURIZER
Plagurism is to copy and paste/load something. If two people played Mario Kart Wii, and they both had recorded Wario's Gold Mine, that woulden't be plagurism, would it?
