Hey, Corinne! That sweater you're wearing, did you make that yourself? It's gorgeous! I want to make something like that but with a hood and in red. Could you possibly do a tutorial on how to knit or crochet an open sweater? Thanks so much!
OMG this is AMAZING!!! I never thought that I could combine my love for sewing and crochet into one garment! It looks fabulous! I could even make a great dress with this technique. THx threadbanger!!!
This was so freaking cool...the only thing is, im going to try it with yarn instead of the shirt materials and see how that comes out. This was one of the best things i've seen. I must go sketch out somethings now and try this. Wish me luck! oh and Matt was kinda cute, congrats on the sewing machine. Cal you Rock!!!
Later on, I will post a video reply on how to make cloth from plastic and add appliques and whatnot to it. You can recycle and look kickass at the same time, you know?
you just have to watch it really closely. if its something you really want to do, watch it a couple of times. and if you are looking for those basic tips check out the vid we did awhile back about crocheting.
hey rob and corrine!:) can you do a tut on how to make an awesome vest? not the average looking one, the one that looks ragged and simply rad:D thanks!!:) plsplsplsplsplspleaaaassse!!!
Ode to threadbanger (subliminal message here!) I found this cool series one cold day last year when i was so bored i could have chopped of my ear it's super cool so much diy to be done and then u had a contest to win a sewing machine i wanted that janome 'sew' bad but i was a day late entering. . . duuudes!!! I hate to be a brat, posting comments left and right, but we need another Janome Contest!!!!
My favorite tips are all about color: in dyeing natural materials, add as much non-iodized salt as you can find to the dyebath to make the dye color deeper, and wash the finished piece in water with as much vinegar as you can stand (or afford) (I actually boil them quickly in vinegar) as that helps set the dye hard.
my favorite tip that is really cool. empty out a coke can, chop off the top, and you've got a pot :D Just put soil inside, plant some seeds, give it some water and sunshine, and you've got a plant. As for the rest, give the tabs to ronald mcdonald house charity and make potholders or something out of the rest :D
emmm where the tutorial for the messanger bag....i can't find it on ur blog ....my third eye is making me look at the wrong places maybe.....guy do guide me *all 3 eyes* wink wink
Most basic earth day tip: recycle. Seriously simple.
There are 4 waste bins in the area where I work. 3 are for various types of recycling and the 4th is generic trash. Yet I see recyclables in the trash everyday.
I'm sorry, I couldn't watch. When it the time came to talk about the crocheting, the music in the background was driving me nuts. Both of the tempos don't match up and I was pulling my hair out.
Earthy Tip: Cut up 10 in squares of cotton sheets and add a rolled hem to make handkerchiefs. Make a whole stack and put folded ones in your hoodie pockets, jean pockets, and your messenger bags. Wash 'em with your laundry. Wiping your nose with recycled fabric is so much nicer for the trees!
[Hint: Wash with unscented detergent so to avoid allergies.]
heyy this is veryyyyy cool!! Thank you !! yayy
