  • Ratings were always important, yet they took the belt away from the superstar, and gave it to backlund..Problem I have is,Backlund never could produce ratings like Graham, yet they let him keep the title for SO LONG..Backlund was a great wrestler though, but not exciting when needed to do promos..

  • @stolis51 I think they had it backwards. I think Graham should have eventually turned face and Bob Backlund should have been a heel. Look at the angle where Graham destroys the WWWF title. Backlund acted like a complete nut job. The most emotion we saw out of him until his heel run in the 90's.

  • holy shit look at those guns!!!!!!

  • To bad Superstar Billy Graham didn't hold on to the title longer.

  • Original 24 inch pythons!!!!

  • i am the superstar. and don't you forget it. he got my fat ass off the couch and into the gym. now i lift barbell plates and eat t-bone steaks. thanks, billy.

  • damn , vince put all the promotions out of business. he product sucks.

  • Amazing heat machine.

  • REALESTATE FLA 1...yeah i was there as well, went to the garden 24 months in a row, seen all of superstars reign there....wrestling will never be the same again, we had billy, dusty, flair, bruno and so many others unlike what we have now...

  • i do this daily

  • so hulk stole it from him

  • Correction - legs.

  • Unfortunately, he's lost the use of his leg, needed hip replacement surgery, and has undergone a liver transplant due to his steroid abuse. It doesn't take away from the impact he made in wrestling. He is the original superstar.

  • Hell yeah! ARIZONA FTW!

  • The first sports entertainer. Man, that interview was truly that, entertaining.

  • Look at the pandemonium!!! Look at the pandemonium!!!

  • When did Superstar Billy Graham start taking Steroids?

  • @Jiltedin2007 its on his dvd,he said he started taking them in 1965.

  • @MrOldschool416 Did they have Steroids back then? Anyway the reason why I asked because one time I saw Superstar Billy Graham on a Wheelchair because Steroids caused him to lose his Legs.

He admitted that he lost his Legs from Steroids use and advised Young People everywhere to not make the same mistakes he made in life by staying away from Steroids in a Public Service Announcement.

Seeing Superstar Billy Graham in a Wheelchair stuck to my mind.

  • @Jiltedin2007 um im not sure where u got ur info from but he never lost his leg,his ankle was fused and he needed a new hip and his back collapsed on him,and he lost 3 to 4 inches in hight, but NO WHERE i repeat No WHERE DOES HE STATE that he lost his leg,he was in a wheelchair because he had a hip replacement i have his book and his dvd and no where does it state he lost his leg, show me this interview where he stats he LOST HIS LEG,wait i just re red ur statement u said he lost both legs WOW.

  • @MrOldschool416 Why? was it really one leg, or both of them he lost?

  • @Jiltedin2007 LISTEN 2 ME, HE DID NOT LOSE N E LEGS

  • Vince @ 0:49: *WTF...?*

  • @ph1484 Vince certainly had his limitations as an announcer, but he did have a great double-take look when the heels went too far.

  • wow hulk hogan was a complete rip off of this guy.

  • @shafon123 Absolutely. Don't forget the other ripoffs. Randy Savage, Jesse Ventura etc....

  • John Cena still can't see Billy Graham.

  • He is the man of the hour, the man with the power, too sweet to be sour!! The women's pet, the men's regret, where what you see is what you get and what you don't see is better yet, he is Superstar, Billy Graham.

  • Vince looked like he was going to cum in his pants with the way he stares at Billy Graham.

  • Loved Graham but wow did roids and other drugs age him. He's only 34 here! Looks 10 years older. Marked out for him big time though. Loved him as WWWF champ!

  • @aitraining That was a different era. On one interview I saw of Superstar, he said "I'm gonna double up on my D-Ball this week." He mentions this in his book, "Between the Ropes." His interviews were unquestionably the greatest ever! Wow! He was only 34 there, huh?

  • Even the Super Star thought that California was its own country. It should be...

  • I had the honor of being at Madison Sq once a Month to witness the likes of The Super Star. He owned the crowd like no other Wrestler now or before him! Sadly,Wrestling now sucks, very few know how to wrestle, much less hold the crowd in an interview except for Flair and now, he`s a former shell of himself..

  • @realestatefla1 Couldn't agree more.

  • @USChampion2007 Last night i watched TNA,which was horrendous.Worse the WWE is for 3 year olds.. There isn`t anymore Wrestling and ESPN killed the old AWA matches months ago....

  • AMEN to that my friend!

  • @realestatefla1 YEA THING IS THE STAR WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A BAD GUY BUT,AS U CAN SEE PEOPLE WOULD CHEER HIM

  • @realestatefla1 You are right. Wrestling isn't even near, what it was back then, but the sadest thing is, that Vince gives them wrestlers scripts for their statements so they don't even have a chance to be original anymore. It is all about Vinces ego and his refusement to call it wrestling. I love wrestling, but I hate sports entertainment.

  • @realestatefla1 I have said it many times. Even at an older age Superstar and Flair still had it. However, unlike Flair, Superstar knew when it was time to hang it up. Flair could have went on to become one of the greatest managers of all times to add to his credits but now I doubt even that can happen.

  • You see kids, back in the day our pro wrestlers didn't need a script writer to tell them what to say, like your .... ahem sports entertainers.

  • Vince deserved a shot in the nuts even back then.

  • vince never should have let him go. Never should have dropped the belt to backlund.

  • @pazios2002 It was Vince Sr.'s idea to put the belt on Backlund. He basically told Billy he'd get about a one year run and then it was going to Bob. Towards the end he should have realised that it wasn't the right time to remove the belt from Billy.

  • I swear those deltoids are physically trying to rip that t-shirt open. What a body.

  • The original and as far as i'm concerned the ONE AND ONLY!

  • The size and conditioning is by far the best WWF has ever seen. He is a true Legend!

  • Thanks for posting. and a Superstar he was !!

  • @4JayeP You're Welcome!

  • How about the color of the suit Vince McMahon has on? It will come back some day I tell ya.

  • At 0:58 Vince asks SSBG if he would defend his championship around the United States. This should be the first hint to the future.

  • @Coodeville By other areas Vince meant NWA AWA Mid Atlantic Mid South Florida etc this was back before the WWF refused to acknowledge or even mention the other territories of the NWA and AWA!

  • I've done this training regimen.

    It really works!

It added 9.5 inches to my biceps.

And swimming across the Atlantic Ocean every day, after running 19 miles and working out for five hours, really did wonders for my stamina.

I recommend anyone serious about fitness to give this regimen a try. Follow it for about 6 months straight and the cycle off for 6 months.

During the down months I recommend plenty of porn and ice cream.

  • @BrickhouseB2 I did just that last part. Added 9.5 inches to my stomach!

  • @BrickhouseB2 I'm gonna start this program first thing in the morning. I will let you know how I get on lol

  • @BrickhouseB2 i assume that much cardio will make ur arm size to be just 9.5 inches, not gain 9.5 inches, LOL!

  • @BrickhouseB2 You forgot booze man!

  • Simply the best!

  • Thanks for the video. Superstar Billy Graham was one of the legendary bests! Wished Vince would have kept just doing interviews. Then he wouldn't have screwed up wrestling for the rest of us!

  • @usacyrano Your welcome.

  • @usacyrano But then he wouldn't be as rich as he is either :)

  • Vince Mcmahon Junior didn't want to take the title off of Superstar Billy and give it to Howdy Doody Bob Backlaund, Junior saw how great Superstar was. But it was VM Senior that wanted Backlund to be champ. Superstar's talent was wasted

  • @gonzomoya420 It was all pre-determined. V Senior told Billy 10 months earlier "you will beat Bruno and drop to Backlund in 1978". They wanted shoot-straight champions then. Ala Harley Race so Backlund fit the bill. Bruno did not want to to run with the belt anymore. BTW Bruno loved Billy and thought Backlund was not ready. I literally cried when SBG lost. I was 8 yrs old and a TOTAL Mark!

  • @Lovelygal71 ; )

  • I like this stuff. Love the promo, US champion. :)

  • Graham in 1968 did a 550 bench press and squatted well below parallel with 650 in the squat.

  • It's weird how much Graham shrunk. Vince is like a couple inches taller than him now. Didn't he have really severe back problems due to steroid abuse? Anyway, if anyone took his gimmick, it would have to be Dusty Rhodes. They sound the same.

  • @zackvanhalen .... They do sound similar but that's it Jesse the Body Ventura & Hulk Hogan are his "sons" the tie dye shirts the boas and the "Guns" Superstars Signature.

  • @MichaelDGarrett I agree. Those two guys ripped off the Superstar more than generic 80s hard rock guitarists ripped off Eddie Van Halen.

  • @zackvanhalen .....He even looks like the Hulkster in that frame.

  • Gee, was Vinny doing the steriods back then?

  • Billy Graham & Hogan. Hmm, some SERIOUS gimmick infringement going on there

  • Vince at 32 pre steroids. he looks like such a dork. back then he was just an announcer his father owned the company

  • roids or no roids he looked better than any wrestler back then, he made hogans arms look like pencils

  • @morrieswigs

If it was 'no roids" he wouldn't have had that look.

  • @WillIsSoAwesome yea but almost every wrestler back in the day took roids and some still do. he is in the condition that u see many wrestlers today in, that was unheard of back in the 70's. even if someone does juice up they still need to work hard to look like that

  • @morrieswigs

What do you mean by "back in the day"? If you mean, the 1980s, sure. If you mean this ere, absolutely not.

  • steroid arms

  • Thanks to everyone who subscribed to my videos!

  • awsome vid dude!!!

  • Thank you, I thought so too.

  • for me - there's no doubt about it - SuperStar was (is) the greatest of all!!!

  • The man was wrestling. The Bruno match was classic..

  • Ali admitted once that he took his rap from a wrestler called Gorgeous George all Superstar did was bring the RAP back.

  • I have been looking for it have not found it.I just don't believe it.Jack Johnson use to talk sh^t to his opponents before, during and after his fights. He just didn't give a F*ck!!

  • @stylinnprofylin

It was Gorgeous George that told Ali to do the narcistic talk and the wearing of white into the ring. George told Ali that if he could get people to hate him, people would flock to the fights to see him get beat. It worked.

  • I love the Superstar."I run 19 miles a day" lol

  • he looks incredible in this video.

  • Vince was a bit of a porker here. Jesse Ventura and Hulk owe most of their success to the Superstar.

  • no one can touch this guy today.

  • I agree! He is the one and only !

  • The best who ever did it.

  • This is one of the funniest promos I've ever listened to, he's so over the top with it you can't help but laugh your ass off. Superstar did so much to change the wrestling industry we all owe him a debt of gratitude. He gave influence to Hogan,Ventura, HHH, S.Steiner and so many others. Often imitated but never duplicated, the legend himself. Wonderful promos from a wonderful human being.

  • he was a great heel and hogan is a rip-off of Billy Graham

  • He was not the top performer if you look at his wrestling skills but he was an awesome entertainer at his time. You can still see his influence in modern pro wrestling !!!

  • he sounds like Muhammad Ali, and by the way, it is true he swam the Atlantic Ocean everyday, he is the best athlete that ever lived

  • @kingnek the look on vince's face when he said that is fucking priceless, lol

  • xSoccerxCorex, haha, that's right. Vince was buying the working out 5 hours thing, running 19 miles a day . . . than the superstar revealed that he swam the atlantic ocean

  • @kingnek Of course! He would dive into the Hudson River at 9am and be on the coast of England by dinner! Absolutely amazing.

  • Chrisdrumz, of course it is true, he is the most amazing man on the planet at that time. Probably still is, but now he impose his superstar justice against evil only when no one is looking. Plus, he saved thousands of stranded sailors in the Atlantic since the 70's, he is da man

  • Superstar Billy Graham is great on da mic he sound like dusty rhodes and rock combined damn he good

  • There were many others that followed and you can debate who worked the crowd best, but there can only be one original. Graham is the man.

  • graham was the shit alright but he stoled from Ali

  • and who did Ali steal his shit from, huh?...nothing & nobody is "original"...everything is influenced by things prior it...

  • Actually, from what I've heard, Ali actually met with Gorgeous George early in his career, and was influenced by him to start acting as outlandish as he did.

  • Stop with all the lies.Ali was around in the late 50's as an amateur and was outspoken then.Boxing is my sport stop with the made up history.Just stop it."Superstar is my favorite of all time in wrestling.

  • @MrBigraw Yeah, but Gorgeous George was the first to actually start portraying himself as a egotistical loudmouth braggart. George Wagner debuted the "Gorgeous George" gimmick around 1941. Ali wasn't born until 1942. So unless you're saying that Ali was doing this while he was still a random sperm floating through his father's genitals, then George is the first, and influenced everyone from Ali all the way down to the current wrestlers of today.

  • How come Ali had to get that from George? Why couldn't they both have been braggers.Dam everything black folks do ,we have gotten it from somebody white even trash talking.I don't believe you.I will check but I can't take your word for it.If you are right I will say that you are.

  • Yes, anytime someone discredits or disagrees with you, the logical answer is a race issue *sarcasm*. Look, I like Ali, and think he is one of the best. However, based on the time honored tradition of research rather than assumption, you can find that Wagner was "Gorgeous" one year before Cassius was even born...man time itself must be taking credit away to Ali and giving it to a white man.

  • Its not a race issue because race don't matter to me.I am a Muslim so If you be a muslim you are my brother whatever your race is.If you are not then you are not mu brother.I just read where Ali says it was Jack Johnson whom influenced him.Jack Johnson made America hate him and he really didn't care.If George had influenced him.Fine if thats what happened. Its no where on the net.Jack Johnson is on the net.

  • Google Jack Johnson And ALi.Please stop making up stuff about stuff you didn't do your research First.I knew ther was no way George could have influenced Ali.First Ali was with the Nation of Islam before becoming Sunni. We all know what the nation feel about others.Ali was man enough and spiritual enough to become a Sunni and not follow all the hate of The nation of Islam.

  • What does Jack Johnson or Ali's religious preferences have to do with "who was the first trash talker"? Ok... maybe there was a black guy who trashed talked before George, and before that maybe it was a Samoan.... why is it necessary that you have to prove that a black dude invented trash talk? No one invented trash talk... but someone did invent peanut butter (George Wahington Carver), and school children are very thankful....

  • Just to add 1 more thing... Ali was influenced by Johson's perseverence against a racially heated time period, and not caring if people liked him or not...not his trash talking abilities, which is the point of this whole convo...

  • When Ali said George was an influence he said it in some interview he done,he was saying how he is a fan of pro wrestling and how a guy called gorgeous george was his favourite he said he liked his rap.

  • Ali did this first come on just stop it!!!Ali was the original trash talker.Billy is still the best of all time in the ring!!!!

  • this is the greatest wrestling promo ever by far

  • I remember when Graham was in the AWA in the early '70's. People who never gave wrestling a second look were suddenly watching it on TV and going to the arena matches because of this man.

  • I read where somebody compared basita to Billy G. NO WAY. Basita can only do spine buster and bower bomb. He is not even close to Billy.

  • Plus Batista can't cut a promo for shit, unlike Graham

  • i just spit out my coffee batista cant even talk it would be like comparing the detroit lions to the pittsburgh steelers as far as alltime nfl ranking...batista cant even talk on the mic and superstar was top five all time wihout debate some think first so come on lol hahahahahah

  • Man of the hour!

    Man with the power!

    To sweet to be sour!

    0:50

    CLASSIC!!

  • The Batista of the 60ies!

  • Batista could never hold Billy Graham jock strap. Batista is the Warlord of today.

  • True in style, persona, and character value, Billy Graham makes Batista look like cream cheese.

  • Hahahahah, soooo truuuue. Obviously he didn't watch Ol School wrestling back in the days.

This guy was more like a Caesar with all the power, pomp and circumstance.

  • Superstar cuts a better promo (almost as good as Flair).

  • It gets no better! He had the right rap for the NY territory. I would give ANYTHING to have been there that night or any other night SBG was cutting a promo to a bunch of haters!

  • Go ahead Superstar. Way to put over Muhammad Ali right down to the wagging finger. I apologize for making my top 10 and not having you on it. I am rectifying that at this moment.

  • I love it! "Swim across the Atlantic ocean"...Classic Superstar!

  • vince looks to be starstructk while standing next to superstar.

  • Dusty Rhodes stole off of Superstar Billy Graham.

  • Superstars of the 70s and 80s + cocaine = FANTASTIC PROMOS lol

  • "Smim cross de Atlanic Ocean!" Lol! This guy was great. Guys like him have always been few and far between in the Biz.

  • I love Superstar Graham's promo.

  • There's pandemonium! There's excitement!

  • No one like Superstar!

  • 1,000 hits!

  • Didn't see anything online. I will keep checking when I get a chance.

  • Is it true Superstar earns extra money as a referee for women's mud-wrestling contests?

  • Superstar could sell ice to an eskimo.

  • Vince McMahon looks like Christopher Reeve's Clark Kent in this interview lol. And the Superstar was definitely one of a kind

  • The best physique in wrestling history and one of the best promos this guy should have had a long run as champion after backlund got the belt his physique was never as good

  • The long forgotten art of the heel champion. They hated him so much that they loved him.Ric Flair like.

  • You mean Ric Flair was like Supa'star Billy Graham!

  • They don't make 'em like Superstar anymore.
