Randy is a Guitar god, and in my opinion is the By far winner. I, as a guitarist myself, love to play works of both. I favor the difficulty of Randy's music over Kirk's. Kirk mainly plays fast down picking and a minor pentatonic scales, where Randy had a classical backing and developed the start of the Neo-Classical guitar playing (even tho Malmsteen is credited for it). So if you look at the backgrounds of each player, you should agree Randy is the by far winner

kirk is overrated. i said OVERRATED NOT BAD. hes a great guitarist. love to listen to him. but randy is sooo much better its ridiculous to compare the two. in fact, apples and oranges. its ok to like both. i promise

I think Randy Rhoads should win. He took a lot of time to study on guitar technique and got a lot of it. Not the greatest live player, but in my mind is still a guitar god.

honestly, i've never enjoyed rhoads' work. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the solo in Mr, but Hammett has a lot of good solos and riffs. Such as the solos in Master of Puppets and Fade to Black. Hammett definitely

i like randy better but kirk shows real potential in his ballads like rvbreapers says however his standard thrashy riffs lack defintion and his leads on those tpes of songs are poor aswell but as i said fade to black,one ect are good anyway my votes for randy

but when kirk can do the same

but then write the slower but epic songs

Think about it this way- back when Randy was alive, Kirk was better. I'll grant you that some of Metallica's recent albums have sucked, but they've still 1-up'd Ozzy. Then of course, Death Magnetic actually didn't suck. They brought some of that awesomeness back from Ride the Lightning.
