  • Today, 3Feb12, is the very last day on which we DFRDB recipients can take advantage of a golden opportunity to have the Gillard government discuss this disgraceful situation. The PM has arranged an "urgent meeting" for the ALP Caucus & backbenchers on 5Feb12 to discuss pressing issues facing the government. It's too late for letters. Send an email NOW to your local member or the PM [email addrs from: vvv.aph.gov.au (Replace "v" with "w") then click HouseOfReps then Members then AlphabeticalList]

  • I joined the Army in Feb 63 and was informed that there was this thing called DFRB and it was compulsory for me to pay into it the sum of 5.5% to be deducted from my pay prior to tax.

We even paid this whilst on operational service. I paid this until it changed to DFRDB in 73 and paid that until I retired in Feb 87. I commuted as did most of us and put it in a Rollover and what happened in Oct 87, the stock market crashed as did my roll over . This was a compulsory self funded scheme.

  • Thanks Pete for the excellent brief. I'm really intrigued by the role played by the culprits in the "back office"; the public servants who have been feeding the "crock" to the politicians. Perhaps this campaign should also be exposing them and asking why it is that the politicians don't hold their informer public servants to account for their numbers. If a bean counter fiddles the books or travel allowances; all hell breaks loose. So it should be for those fiddling the pension futures.
