  • I get the feeling that when the people have gone, and the earth is empty, the machines will keep on singing for mechanical ears.

  • this is so bizarre but I'm not gonna lie....I sort of enjoyed it

  • what the fuck is this??

  • Better than acid.

  • You know, this is probably the 15th time I've rewatched this video and until today I never noticed the standing syringe on the electric keyboard at 0:12 . The video is wonderful, the song catchy, the music excellent, the editing cuts brilliant, and the Uncanny Valley Violations significantly disturbing yet enrapturing to ensure the propagation of fan-worship. Shades of the Muppet Show with great charm and a lingering "creep me the fuck out" factors which make it all the more addictive.

  • there is 1 in barbours ville at billy bob's wonderland!

  • @fanprograms whats the red stuff injected into the band????

  • 1:25 wattttttttt

  • @ooweirdoo YESSSSS!

  • Their eyes are sketchin me out...

  • I want to own a Rock-afire set sooooooo bad! I loved these guys. I used to go to the Showbiz pizza place in Denver Colorado in the 80's the games and ride I don't remember! This band I do! This was so cool to see again :) thank you to the one that made this:)))))))

  • This should be the actual music video for the song.

  • Amazing. It truly fits this song. As a post-apocalyptic fiction fan, this is a fabulous video, combining that 80/90s retro effect in animatronics, coupled with the verbage in the song, to form *the* recreation of this song in sentiment... Rock-A-Fire, thank you!

  • Get rid of the subtittles. you don't need them.

  • I can't get this out of my head because of your amazing use of repurposed and reprogrammed animatronics. It lends a lot to the song, and vise versa. It's strangely moving and almost haunting- and gives an eerie feeling, similar to the Bradbury story "there will come soft rains". I feel as if they are left alone playing after we have all been reduced to irradiated ashes at the end of the world.

  • If Chuck E Cheese did this it would be sooo much better

  • @robotleg619 freak

  • This was my first Arcade Fire experience as well. God bless Arcade Fire, and God bless the Rock-a-Fire Explosion!

  • I thought of this when they won the Grammy last night. My first exposure to them two years ago was this video.

  • @asf7sg89 MINE TOO!!! that's so weird, isn't it? i guess the best publicity is viral videos!

  • This video made me realize youtube can have talent. cherish it! and subscribe so i can have yer icon

  • The syringes being shoved into their neck and eyes was kind of messed up. haha

  • i love this song fromAacrade Fire missed out seeing them live in belfast but love all their songs and this was is just brilliant makes me feel like im lost in a nightmare though lol sometimes nightmare's are exciting and Arcade Fire is definitly that!

  • Forget today's corny haunted houses; THIS is what nightmares and demonic dreams are made of LMAO no wonder they softened the setting with CEC's new band!

  • the first time i saw this i thought this was the original show these robots preformed.

  • Dook is giving Beach Bear a shot at 1:29

  • this video in what year was made? it looks new

  • @nismocuaad august 2008, I'm guessing. These are all fairly recent.

  • @streetvan1997 this song is amazing......and being as though im from the showbiz era this was great to see....

  • @streetvan97- couldn't disagree more. To describe the Arcade Fire as a band no one wants to hear is a little naive to say the least.

I love the choice of songs. The White Stripes and especially MGMT are strokes of genius. This Arcade Fire video is awesome! Keep up the good work. And maybe throw a Journey song in for streetvan97.

  • dude i love this song

  • i think the fact you've been doing songs that are outside the general mainstream only adds to the quirkyness of having an animatronic cover band. the hip-hop ones are amazing mostly bc of how incongruous it is. this indierock cover is also awesome, bc i can realistically see this band making a video like this. they are major label i think, you should contact the bands and see if they'll pay you to do a video. that would make way more money than bids.

  • @streetvan1997 I'm thinking about exactly that. If the bidding had been higher, it would be worth it to me. But I am not getting enough bids to do songs that no one has heard. I think you will start seeing more of what you're suggesting in the near future. I will still pick unknown songs from the bid list to do from time to time, but, with the bids being so low, i can't make a business out of it or even pay the cost of the work. So, you're right. Thanks!!

    Aaron

  • @fanprograms

You though of looking into using Blip.tv and going with their advertising program meaning every time someone watches your video on Blip.tv an ad plays before your video and you get a cut from Blip.tv (blip.tv/faq/advertising/) probably won't be much unless you can boost viewers but something to consider (if you can get more viewers).

  • @streetvan1997 yeah i can actually picture rockafire doin Bohemian Rhapsody. That would be a wonderful video!!!!!!!!!!

  • @streetvan1997 You may have gone to school for business, but suggesting that a band such as Arcade Fire is a band that "no one really wants to hear" means your concept of good music may likely come from a jukebox at a po-dunk Pizza Hut. Broaden your musical horizons and open your eyes to good music of today. Bohemian Rhapsody - seriously? As if Wayne's World didn't drive that one into the ground almost 20 years ago...

  • so creepily good... hmmm

  • This could be their music video! Holy crap this is so creepy and weirdly awesome.

  • 5:04 no she just got done blazing and needed some robot clear eyes

  • this is a great video. my childhood is gone just like the Rock A Fire explosion and Showbiz Pizza has been wiped out. and one day we will all be gone and the memories of Beach Bear and Fats Geronimo will cease to exist. actually, i didn't care much for beach bear cuz he was creepy. man, i wanna go play skeeball right now but i'm stuck at work.

  • WHAT THE FUCK.

I NEED 150 CC'S OF BRAIN BLEACH STAT

  • It's a depressing notion that the Rock-Afire Explosion could potentially be the only survivors left to sing this sad song someday... along with a random stray H-Man to inject them with a daily dose of the Generous Alchemist's Life Serum.

  • curious, what was going on from 1:26-1:31?

  • @twinki731 Greasing the robots I believe

  • i will never see something as amazing as this ever again

  • Does this show even exsist anymore? Theres one here at Fun Zone here on Long Island but they stopped using them and they closed the pizza room...And the one at Nathans Fun House works but they move kinda slow at times and sometimes they even get jammed in the middle of the sshow

  • @Magicking788 No, got took over by Chuckie Cheese, several fans have shows though and there are a few (generally in bad condition) at public places around.

  • @wonkycrayons That rly sux...There is one over here in Fun Zone by where I live its about 20 minutes...They were working and repairing the show but even though they were fixing it I saw them do a test run and it still was running rly slow

  • any body else notice the lyrics are all off?

  • holy wow, the Moon! I had forgotten all about the Moon. How could I ever forget (the Moon)?

    Thx f0r this

  • 2 questions. 1, is this the real music video for this song? 2: is the song about nuclear apocalypse haha?

  • when are they doing "never gonna give you up"?

  • Aaron, you have a gift. from 30 years ago to today, you kept these 'tronics to perfect "health" as i would say. what you are doing to these bots are the greatist thing i could ever see from you. Thank you and Chris Thrash for bringing The Rock-afire Explosion back!

  • arcade fire and a electronic band that used to play in arcades. Makes perfect sense to me.

  • heh i just realized the dude doing the injections is dressed up in the drummers outfit

  • Comment removed

  • Oh my godddd! Yesssss!

  • Fucking Dook really hitting them drums hard .lol.WTF were they putting in Mitzi's eye.She don't get lubed like that.I know I used to work on that show when I was younger.

  • this is pretty incredible. good stuff going on here.

  • Incredible, this is crazy . . . @DanjoFox, I actually kind of like the robot dog's drumming doing that.

  • AWESOME ENDING!!!!

  • I wen to Funzone here on Long Island Farmingdale yesterday and they have the Rock afire explosion and the entire time I was there it wasnt working...I saw the characters but they werent moving at all they were just standing there doing nothing I dont know what had happened

  • It's really really sad isn't it, and i grew up watching them!

  • Studies have shown that these creatures may not preform well in captivity therefore the injections are necessary.

  • Why do you show them sticking the needle thingy in her eye? It's a little creepy. Great song and great video though!

  • I *think* it's a reference to the original video for this song, which has some creepy visuals involving people injecting other people with really big-ass needles. That's just my guess, though.

  • @KItKatGirl2596 The needle is a reference to the Arcade Fire Video. I think its a mind control serum.

  • this was a combination of nostalgia and nightmare fuel for me

*curls up into the fetal position and begins rocking*

  • @fredrickpendragon

    I can agree with that.

  • The only problem is that you can hear the robot drummer bleeding onto the track. Sort of takes away from the magic

  • Wow!!! Aaron Fechter, this pure golden genius!!

  • Wow, that's like a piece of performance art. You should get a gallery rep man, that's really something.

  • Watching him inject oil into Mitzis eye was kind of creepy..im just saying.

  • could not imagine viewing this video at the peak of a shroom high

  • you just stick that in there and fill her up ? doesnt it like leak all inside or are you injecting it into specific chamber ? I thought the inside of those things was pretty open.

  • bon sang quelle claque!! 5 stars.

  • I think this may be the best thing I've ever seen. 5 stars.

  • terrifying. good song though

  • I thought the sirynge was a candle at first. I guess robots need oil. They must have put it in the video just to add to the weirdness.

  • It's cool how Arcade Fire's lead singer's voice sounds alot like Beach Bear already. Awesome! Although I am not sure I get the syringe into Beach Bear's neck and then into Mitzi's eyes. What's up with that?

  • wow, this is almost eerily fitting for the arcade fire tone. like this was destined to be!

  • Wonderful Job Aaron! This is one of my favorite Rockafire videos keep up the excellent work!!!

  • Simply sublime. It's interesting how a different approach to the video presents the song in a new and different light.

  • Better than the official video Arcade Fire made. :D

  • amazing

  • a fun way to look at the video is to imagine a nucular holocaust has occured and one of the things left behind is the extinct artists songs programed into old childrens robots. (well i thought it was a cool idea)

  • Comment removed

  • Why did you copy and paste my comment and post it as your own. Are you that unoriginal and dull?

  • no i was just bored so i did that

  • heh ya responded honestly, im no longer hateful.

  • a fun way to look at the video is to imagine a nucular holocaust has occured and one of the things left behind is the extinct artists songs programed into old childrens robots. (well i thought it was a cool idea)

  • That was phenomenal.

  • <3 The Arcade Fire

  • 3:58 what r they doin to the puppets eye?

  • Um, there's only one puppet in the Rockafire show, and it's controlled by a robot...

  • I know,

what the heck ARE they doing?!!?

    SPB

  • kinda creepy robots...

    nice song though

  • 4:37 some one blew up

  • Thanks Captain.

  • amazing. that was so super cool! great song, great moves by the animals, I love how the moon and the oohs towards the end!

  • This is so great! Reminds me of childhood trips to Chuck E Cheese and Showbiz Pizza. I love this song already, but this is fun.

  • i honestly think this is great

  • what is this i don't even

  • This is actually very good, its wierd how well the polar bears motions work so well, especially mid song when it gets heavy and hes rocking back and forth

  • what the this is amazing i don't even

  • What?

  • i think the "i don't even" is a band

  • Doubt it.

  • The polar bear sings the song excellentely, go robots

  • They're as scary as they were 15 years ago.

  • LMAO, well fucking said... 24 years ago for me, and it still haunts me

  • I have shed three tears watching this...This truly is what I have been waiting for

  • Forgotten robot nostalgia and Arcade Fire melancholy. This video is too powerful. Poor guys. Keep rockin'.

  • did you see at the end of the video someone put a shot right in mitzi's eye

  • great. i forgot about these creatures. the ones i have seen had a giant mouse named chuck in there.

  • greatness

  • Ah....... the....... neeedles? Why? What?

  • Thank you for making these videos. I'm glad someone is keeping these characters alive.

  • Somebody's been thinking rather than drinking. Maybe if we all started thinking rather than drinking, maybe we could actually be making something.

  • It's nice to see the band doing some serious music these days

  • what is up with the shots???!!! ffffrrrreeeaaaakkkyyyy!!!

  • that's tha shit

  • 3:57 !?!? nightmares :0[

  • fucking epic

  • 4:25 those are weed bushes haha...

  • wow...if we know obscenity when we see it, then we also know greatness when we see it - this is it.

  • This is like art.

  • 3:45 I love how his eyes go cross on "mind". Great video.

  • This is fucking beautiful.

  • joder que miedito da el oso

  • the drummer looks sooo paranoid hahahahahaa

    i adore this song.

and now i will always see that horrifying blonde bear when i listen to it.

  • Yeah that eyeball syringe is kinda creepy... any reasoning behind that? Otherwise that was AMAZING. I think Arcade Fire should just use this as THE video for this song. Great editing and the movements were so spot on. Although imagine what could be done with the 2nd gen bots ;)

  • the syringes were in the original video that the band did, which, in my opinion, that video wasn't half as good as this one!

  • this is beyond creepy.

    this is beyond awesome.

  • Epic epic epic again. I'm subscribing to this channel. I love this idea, and GREAT song choice for this one.

  • I guess it's because I haven't had sleep in a while, but this is really disturbing me.

  • this is truly incredible. what is going on with the eyeball syringes?

  • The picture of the crying bear at 1:02 made me spit out my Gataorade from laughing.

  • dude that was smokey the bear, he couldn't prevent enough forest fires.

  • The Rock-afire Explosion rocked out my seventh birthday party. We abused the Billy Bob mascot and made him cry. My younger sister consoled him though. The song falls into place well with the robots movements. Cool.

  • they made it so the song falls in place fool!

  • best RFE vid yet!

  • I love the drawing of the crying bear during "And if my parents are crying." Aaron Fechter, I do believe you are a genius.

  • Let's do the math.

    Rock-afire = Arcade Fire Rocks

Coincidence? I think not. Best video in a long as time. Shameless Arcade Fire plug: I made a slide show about the stock market crash to Windowsill. Check it on my little YouTube page.

  • 3:47 the eyes!

  • holy crap my favouritest song ever rock-afire style!

  • He's a dog, and there's no propeller (they're little antennae). He does kick much ass, though!

  • Nearby where I live there's a "Billy Bob's Wonderland" with the Explosion on display. I wish I could pass on these great song programs, especially this one. The place would double in awesomeness.

  • Lol everyone is commenting about the injections when they have not seen the actual music video to this song. I think (if you mind can wrap around it) it would kinda give you an idea behind "the injection"

  • How amazing it would be to be able to go to a venue and enjoy the Rock-afire Explosion with current popular tunes!

I honestly think there would be a significant demand from all age levels to view this type of entertainment. If it could be coupled with an eclectic atmosphere with a nightclub type approach, but also with no age limit restrictions. I can see whole families attending for the entertainment value.

  • Has anyone noticed in the beginning, there's one of those needle serenges in front of the gorilla? lol These robots sort of creep me out, but it's pretty cool at the same time. I wonder what that dude was doing when he injected something into the bear's neck. Weird O_o

  • Good thing I don't do hallucinogenics. I would be having the most bad psychotic-break trip of my life watching this. Oh lordy.

On the other hand. The music was very well performed and the animatronic creatures superbly crafted (Uncanny Valley levels of "Creeping me the heck out").

  • YEAH! At 1:27 somebody injects something into his neck.....

  • i could swore i saw someone giving an injection to beach bear in the neck while he was singing

  • This is amazing. Thank you.

  • whoever set this whole thing up is just amazing

  • did they just randomly pick a song by the arcade fire? i dont think so. in order for the machines to understand this song they must have progressed through all forms of primative music(or at least what available in digital storage) up through to all the music right before the explosion. while the other robots are busy learning to use raw materials and collecting/preserving the blood, the musician robots are trying to find out what it means to feel.

  • In some sci-fi stories, artifice like robots and computers are the only remainders of humanity's technological advances, and they preserve humanity's "memories" and sometimes teach the remaining humans about their own past. In the case of nuclear holocaust, it's conceivable that not only would technology exist as physical artifacts, but the electronic communication shared among people could be preserved. Maybe nobody could read or appreciate it.

  • Bingo! And to give a little more of the story in the Rock-afire video, the robotic creatures have learned that if they inject themselves with human blood that they can procreate like humans. So, the future of society will be Rock-afire Explosion-like looking creatures roaming the Earth, giving each other human blood injections (considered a drug in the robot world) having robot sex and singing good ol' Rock and Roll. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

    Aaron

  • Yay! Do I win anything? Do the lascivious bots promise to spare me?

  • No, they aren't in charge of who gets spared, unfortunately, but, if you're lucky, they may be able to use some of your blood..

  • Seriously? That's it?! KICK AWESOME! Dook and Mitzi for the win!

But now that I think about it, why does it have to be Dook giving the injections? I'm guessing it's because he's the most human member of the group (the only domesticated animal, after all, not to mention he has the most human body type next to Mitzi). Am I close?

  • Damn it. Sorry Dad, forgot I was logged in on your account.

  • Have you read, "The Circuit of Heaven" by By Dennis Danvers? The plotline is that a crystalline "cyberverse" is created and most of humanity has abandoned their bodies with Earth while their mind lives on in the computational universe of "The Bin". There are "helper creatures" which kind of resemble animatronics whom have useful bits of multiple personalities uploaded into them to guard the children of important people in "The Bin". These creatures would make an interesting side story to it

  • BADASS

  • that's a beautiful moment @ 3:47

  • I cant stop watching this
