  • Did you buy a Semco brand garbage can from Ace Hardware? I seriously just bought the same model garbage can and gutter diverter.

  • The better tool at 5:09 is a jigsaw. Thanks for the nice video!

  • @WANTONSOUPGUY her tool looks like it worked to me. You sound like the hardware store ppl who always try to sell me junk i don't need.

  • @bluediamond2077 It can be pretty easy when cutting something with a flimsy surface to twist and cut yourself. As a tightwad i'm not trying to "sell" anyone, just recommend a safer method. She says to be careful with sharp blades, and I think the best way to be careful is to use a better method...but if you want to use a blade you are certainly welcome to...whatever gets the job done, right?

  • good video but you should drill holes on the side of the barrel towards the top to act as an overflow

  • I did this the very same way but mine has an overflow tube that feeds into my downspouts out to the sewer.

  • Can you please advise where you purchased the white "not" on the inside of the barrel that attaches to the faucet? I have looked everywhere and cannot find them.

    Thanks.

  • Check out Rain Barrel Apparel on Facebook and Twitter for aesthetically pleasing rain barrel covers. You no longer have to have that eye sore of a milky white or blue barrel on the side of your house!

  • make sure you water only flowers with that set up. If you start watering fruit/veggie garden, you'll need a food grade plastic container so you don't contaminate your crop. this container is not food grade so be careful.

  • Great video! Thanks for posting this!

  • I have every thing but all that XD lol nice job(what if u cant find that stuff)

  • heating it with a blow dryer may have made it easier to cut

  • Nice job!

  • What is the blue basket???

  • @matthew2000tx The basket for the rain barrel looks like a basket strainer for a swimming pool which keeps leaves and debris out of the rain barrel . She said it was a hayward basket probably something you could buy at your local swimming pool supply store.
