I would have to disagree and say that the symbols DO have power, insomuch as anything is capable of having power. They serve as gateways to particular areas of superconciousness. Constant attention given to any symbol over a period of time will gradually build up the potency of the symbol. The power does not come from the symbols own inherent existance...but then that could be said for anything.

@autumngrief Certainly symbols do hold power. One must decide though what power one seeks and what power one will use. More important is the source of the power. Freemasonry uses symbols in almost everything you see in the entertainment industry. What is their source and mission. God gave us His language but can we missuse it by trying to go around God and use it for ourselves? God Gives us His symbols for understanding and His glory.

I checked kabala found only 72 name of gods ! And there are 72 names for G-d in Hebrew, yes. However, many are never to be used or said, written or thought. So someone may have not included those when they said there are only 50 names for G-d.

And of course, the One Name, the four letters we all know, must NEVER be said. Not ever. I think it's great that people post this stuff for all to see, but be careful.

Muslims cannot be true Kabbalists, nor can anyone truly claim a "Kabbalistic" practice unless he spends a good deal of his life (like more than 40 years) in strict contemplation and prayer. Kabbalah is not meant for the layman, and unfortunately for most the "practice" of Kabbalah (or something like it) will lead nowhere. (And not to the good sort of no-where and no-thing.)

Furthermore, you really should not pronounce the One Name. Say it within your soul, but not aloud.
