i actally make all my beats on audacity, i actually thought i was the only person out there who even knew how to, check out my channel all my beats are there
Have you tried out any other free software? There's LMMS, which is similar to FL Studio, and despite the name has a Windows version too. There are also a lot of free trackers (like ModPlug, Jeskola Buzz, Psycle, MadTracker). I haven't tried Darkwave Studio or Koblo Studio, but they look decent too.
I think any of those would be easier than working in Audacity.
Cool, thanks for sharing - how do you put in the altered sample - do you just copy and paste the fragments you like in Audacity or do you use a different program?
yo to be honest this is icredible for working just with audacit in my opinion...maaaad props...wow is all i can say...when u get an mpc ur golden...i can help u with that....check my vids my man subscribe as i will do the same
I have Audacity..but I simply don't understand..how did you get these drum sounds on Audacity? Did you make these beats...or load actual songs onto Audacity..Do you have a midi keyboard or something..? Thanks..
you upload the individual drum sounds like bass and snares onto audacity like you would with any sound file, then i make a new window, and paste down my drums to what i want it to sound like according to timing and what i can hear, its a hard process, but not impossible, but it is hard to explain.
did you download the sounds from somewhere? i've been trying to find out where to download certain sounds for free. i figured, if audacity doesnt have beatmaking, might as well just find a bunch of sounds and use those to make my beat. so thats the hard part, finding the right sounds.
recordings i had to do print screen but i think theres a program called hypercam or something, and this just google audacity and it should come up with the website, tell if you cant find it though.
thanks, the method of using audacity as a DAW took a bit of work to get used to, but i love it because its kind of a method i came up by myself, so its like i know all theres is to know about producing on audacity.
I like the way you used the method of filtering your high out of the main sample to create the bassline effect! That is a nice old school way of creating basslines that will always be in sync with the track no matter how you chop it up! Use the main sample for the loop & the filtered one for change ups! Nice one!
thanks, yeah, what i do is i get the loop, put up the bass up usually by 12 decibles, turn the volume low on one of the sound slides, and filter the sound on the other slides, so the bassline is strong.

@Collagenre thanks for that, you really helped me find a cool program. Audacity really is terrible for making songs in.

@triermusic copy and paste the fragments or "chops" as you would call it.
