Really enjoyed the film,excellent performance from Cassel,he's just got that amazing screen presence only a few actors have. He definately deserves tons of credit for Mesrine-love it!

It's too bad Cassel isn't more popular in the U.S. even though he's appeared in films like Ocean's 12, Eastern Promises and Derailed (okay, that last one was a cheesy movie).

Vincent Cassel Sooo talented and rather good looking too(always helps)....is this film coming out at the cinema in the uk or has it been out? I hope so,otherwise have to watch another good french film on dvd.......

MichM82, I don't know what the U.K. release date is but it played in NYC at Lincoln Center as part of the "Rendevous with French Cinema" just this past week, and it's receiving a full theatrical distribution here in the U.S. starting in Aug. I think they are going to do an Oscar campaign for both the film and Vincent Cassel. Are you a subscriber? You should be!

@MichM82 A new video intervview that I just did in NYC on the eve of Mesrine FINALLY opening here in the US is on the home page! It took TWO YEARS!?! But after getting a real Oscar-type rave in the NYTimes, I hope Vincent gets all the credit he deserves for this STUPENDOUS perforamnce. Yes , French film are pretty much the underdogs in America,most people in the media dont even try to figure out if the films are good or bad if its French they just dismiss it,its a shame . I was verry happy for Marion last year because even during her run for the oscar she wasnt heavily featured in one on one nterviews especially compare to the others nominee who were .The only full blown interview we could find in English of her during that time was yours.Thks for featuring French actors!

Well, Oliver, when I saw "LaVieEnRose" I just KNEW it was an Oscar performance...however it was in French...and I wondered if she would be able to overcome that...AND SHE DID! But yes, nobody wanted to interview her for TV at first...Then the Writers Strike shut down all the Network TV talk shows. So I had a scoop! Meanwhile, you'll notice Marion is in the 100,000 of hits, because, as you say, it's her only long TV interview. Merci Marion et le Bon Dieu! Also, I have that same vibe about Vincent

Fascinating films , I am half French and it covers things I knew nothing about.Vincent wonn best actor at this year Cesar and he deserves it,brilliant performance!
