This pen does not work as advertised. The software is buggy and the after sales support is terrible when it exists at all. If you buy this pen you will spend a frustrated week trying to get it to work before giving up, losing out on a couple of hundred dollars.

I find it hard to use but the more i use it the more i understand it. Its not one of those things u can just pick up and play like an FPS. It takes time. jsut take it back and get ur money back.

just got one of these for my birthday, and i think its completely awesome.. this demo hardly scratches the surface.. and im pretty sure its not the ink it reads, but the paper, the special paper you use it with has a bunch of little dots that it uses a scanner to read, and when you touch your writing it just reads the dots it recorded around that word..

there is an ink cartridge removal slot on the end of the usb connector (opposite of the navigator/cross thing)

you open it up from the very tip of the pen, screw it off, take it out, put in a new ink, and screw it back on. its pretty easy.

@octapusxft: That's purely because people screwed it up for themselves. If gum never made it to the bottom of desks and chairs then chances are, it would be allowed in schools. :\

Like most things, a few bad can easily ruin something for a large number of good people that are going the right thing.

Can you delete old recordings or notes from the pen and store new ones? Can you erase with the pen if you make a mistake while writing? I make a lot of mistakes. Also, can you do spell check with the pen?

On the Logitech io2 you can delete input by crossing it out with a single line. I imagine this is available with the livescribe as well.

Spellcheck is an available application for the pen.

I have seen only positive reviews of this pen. It was awesome so I decided to buy one. I hope it is worth it. I brought the 1 GB. I am college and i hope it would be good for lectures plus i used a code to get 10 percent off my pen. The notebooks(20$ for 4 books) and the pen refills(6$ for 5 ink sticks) are in expensive.
