  • 1:11 Lazy feet.

  • Thanks, Cal bears! This is my favorite video! I play very similar to Alex along with a one-hander and I always look at the zoom-in on him because his feet are really MOVING along with his smooth, small and compact strokes!(helps me with my game alot!) I intend to go to Stanford also even though people say its impossible. ITS NOT! No one is going to take my dream away :D. If my dad did it when he was 15, then i can do it too!

  • College application: search August Erickson

  • pwnage backhand @ 1:24

  • beauty passing shot as 1:27

  • Are these guys supposed to be the best college players in the US?

    Come on

  • @kkct7 No.

Klahn has improved tenfold since this and he is.

  • klahn has improved soo much since this video.

  • does alex use a semi western for his FH or is it western?

  • clayton has a great 1 handed backhand

  • how do i get that good? and wats better a 1 hand backhand or 2 hand? and wats the best forehand grip? and which racket has the most power for a 12 year old? can u help? and how do they serve so fast?

  • @cooled17 Serious private coach, 1 hand has more power 2 hand has more control. I like the semi western because it gives spin and power. Wilson BLX six one lite. They hit up from the bottom of the ball, throw the ball high, hit it at its highest point, they snap their wrist, they hit the ball right in the middle of their strings and they have good body rotation when they hit. Also they both have very fast racket head speeds. :P

  • The guy in the gray shirt looks much, much better.

  • the leftie is pathetic

  • @gabe228 the leftie won the ncaa title, and turned pro lol

  • @gabe228 He took a set off Querrey at the USO.

  • the guy who is near to the camera is clearly much better than the other

  • Aceguitar you are aware that Alex Clayton(right-hander in this video) won the US open Jr. doubles with Donald young right? Not to mention Bradley Klahn(left-hander in this video) was on the number one ranked national doubles team for a big chunk of this year?

Bradley also won the NCAA singles championship.

They have both gotten al ot better. Do some research or atleast use common sense before making yourself look like an idiot.

  • is it better to keep your wrist locked like alex hits it with the backhand

  • 1:26...goddamn what a shot.

  • they would be an awesome doubles team!

  • calbears, do you know who won this match? Also, what strings is Alex using there? I assume a polyester but it is white colored.

  • Very Nice and your opponent also!

  • finally a all-time onehander

    nice!!!

  • these 2 would do well on the futures/challengers tour

  • Alex can easily go pro...

  • loL?!?!??

  • those guys are good

  • if you're going to cut up a video, why show his missed serves? ZOMG ITZ PHUN TEW LUK AT FAULTZ.

  • @ImaginaryLettuce so we know that its a second serve... lol

  • Am I just hyper agressive or are these guys rather passive? Despite that they have pretty good serves and the slice backhand @ 0:16 is awesome.

  • wow its weird how in some college tennis videos they show off their foot work but in these couple of points i didnt see much foot work

  • these guys are easily 6.5's

  • AceGuitarR7 and csr88, the more you talk, the more you show how little tennis knowledge you have. As suggested, if you dont have any open level or ITF tennis experience, either of them would abuse you without breaking a sweat. Your arguments here show, like many others, how you just dont know what you know. If you were a 5.0 (which I seriously doubt unless self rated) you would already know they would abuse you. Stick to a subject you may know something about.

  • @AceGuitarR7 hahahahahaha Ace Guitar this is one of the funniest posts ive ever read on youtube. "i play the top level in mens grade which is virtually the same" hahahahah. do u realise klahn took a set off sam querrey at the US open? and that clayton can play equally well. from someone who knows and plays top D1 college tennis u look like such a douche. mens grade and top D1 college tennis are worlds apart my friend.

  • @AceGuitarR7 lol looking at your fat ass serve, you got nothing on them. I doubt you play any tournaments let alone ITF ones LOL. Youre pathetic and delusional.

  • @pistolpete58 lol, yeh im a real tub of lard aye... im 5"11' and 73kg. it was just a casual practice and using old balls. im having a hit tomorrow and will do a video and put it up soon..... im not saying these guys arent good, obviously they are he hits with jankovic and dementieva, i was just saying i could compete with them. and this video is 3 years old! im sure they are much better now. i have beaten a guy over here who plays college tennis in america now.

  • @AceGuitarR7 please do, im intrigued to see if you could compete with players like klahn and clayton. anyone can compete with anyone, but making it competitive is a different story. that doesnt carry much weight, i took a set off dominik meffert a year ago as well, so beating a guy who plays college tennis in america isnt that impressive. beating semi-pros like klahn and players on the itf; now thats impressive. i'm looking forward to your video.

  • Both these guys have great serves, but they are NOTHING compared to Brettlol.

  • nice backhand slice at 0:15

  • Aceguitar you say your 4.5-5.0 these guys are 6.0s.

  • AceGuitar you should just shut your mouth. Bradely Klahn is an INSANE player. He's ranked top 800? in the world, he just had an off day. I serve faster then you and I am only 15 years old. From the way your strokes looked you have noting on any of those players. Bradely Klahn(The guy who you say sucks) just beat Devin Brittan 6-1 6-1. Devin Brittan lost to Federer 6-1 6-3 7-5. You have NO idea what your talking about. No I am not implying Brad is better then Federer.

  • plz people. play with your brains not brawn. There is a reason why tennis is not play like football.

  • clayton won

  • who won?

  • klahn beat johnson is the pac ten tournament right?

  • Comment removed

  • hes probably much better thn u

  • Comment removed

  • ur strokes are nothing compared to these guys

  • Comment removed

  • they are inconsistent because they hit so hard, plz post a vid of urself and are u ranked nationaly? Im goin to post a vid too

  • AceGuitar is simply stupid. Claytons serve is going at least 120. He probably beat you just by slicing his backhand.

  • Comment removed

  • so how many itf tourneys have u played?

  • One way to shut them up is to post a vid of how you play. You sound like a good player.

  • Comment removed

  • these two guys play for stanford which is the top tennis university in usa. every kid in usa dream of playing for stanford.

  • not me O_O

  • What's your ranking? If you can beat these guys, it means you could play on any D-1 school and beat almost every junior and college player in the country and win some matches in a Futures tournament. Anyway, in your video you look like a 3.5 player, which explains your delusion. Seriously, it's very common for weak players to overestimate. You have to become really good at tennis to realize how bad you are.

  • Comment removed

  • Just saying if you can beat these guys, your rankings and results will speak for itself. Sorry, but when you're talking about beating guys who can win matches in Futures tournaments, internet claims is not enough. Show us your rankings, post links to your results, show that you've beaten people who are even close to these guys. Have you played Junior Slams like these guys? There are no people out there who can beat players like these guys with no verifiable tournament results.

  • so true... i see weekend hackers all the time who think they are hot shit. they think they are too good to play with others they deem inferior to them. lol i just tell them to videotape themselves to see how bad they really are.

  • The center of the net looks very, very low.

  • @HisCarlness they're playing midday.. the shadow of the net itself makes it seem lower...

  • @HisCarlness Maybe cause the video was recorded from high up?

  • The Stanford guy has a nice game -- but he's too sloooooow.

  • They're both stanford guys

  • My team played Poway last year(When Klahn was on their team) I am happy I was sick that day and could not play :)

  • I knew Klahn pretty well. We shared several classes, but he was gone often for various things.

I only think he played with the Poway team a very small portion of the time.

  • have these guys been recruited to the stanford college tennis team??

  • Yes, they both play for Stanford.

  • @pistolpete58 posted a few vids, angles arent great but itll give you some idea of my ability. ill try and do a good one soon again so you can see more of the ball. also the guy i played here was jason wright, he was ranked in the top 50 of australia

  • @AceGuitarR7 the guy you are playing in this vid is terrible he wouldnt make it in a D-2 college let alone top 50 nationally, cmon any real player can see that there is no way you could compete with klahn or clayton right now maybe in the future after more practice but as of now there is no way. we are all competing and working to become as good as these guys and better, so dont say you can compete with them, just work hard and prove it.

  • @AceGuitarR7 Sorry to come in with the conversation, but I checked your practice video and the guy you were playing had a 50 mph serve. Clayton has 100-120 mph for a first serve. I'm just saying, I don't think you could compete with Clayton and I can't either.

  • wow these guys are good

  • good players

  • can anybody estimate what their rating would be in NTRP?

  • I think experienced player NTRP guidelines would suggest that they are both at least 6.0 since they are ranked in the top 75 nationally. However, I think they could easily be classified as 6.5 since they are actually in the top 40 and could probably be playing in satellites, futures, etc. In any case, I think players at their level are much more interested in actual wins/losses and NCAA rankings than an NTRP classification. Just a guess.

  • well i'm just wondering, because i want to play college tennis, but im already 19 and almost done with my first year :( , so i wanted to know what skills i needed. thanks

  • what's your ranking then? I bet either one could bagel you easily.

  • i'm a 5.0-5.5 baseliner w/ 1-hnd bh.

and i would have to break my wrist during the match with them if they wished to stand any sort of chance

  • division I cannot self rate below 5.5. Got to see Klahn play the other day, the guy was pretty damn good, id have to agree hes at least 6.0 after watching live mtach. videos dont do justice for tennis. even pros on tv.

csr88, top juniors 5.0-5.5 even 6.0. maybe you are one, thats great. These guys were top 10 ranked juniors and basically the #1&2 recruits in college. that and records are credibility. dont talk trash.

  • These guys are both on the stanford tennis team.

    You do it too.

  • yeah... these guys are pretty much the future of american tennis.

  • wish i could have, shattered my leg junior year in high school

  • @calbears93 so.. federer is a 10? :P

  • @samurai7411

Top juniors and college players don't have ntrp ratings. They have junior and ncaa rankings. ntrp ratings are meant for players that suck or basically adult rec players. A 6.0 player would be a former top college player who now probably teaches or is a coach at a college.

  • @subban I was just curious as to how they would be rated, skill level and such, besides "really good" haha.

  • Go Bradley!

    Go Poway!

  • beautiful slice at 0:15

  • woah some good stuff, although im surprised at klahn, he was ranked 18th in the u18's and he was getting pwned

  • In Klahn's defense, these were just a handful of points in a long match. Klahn actually won the second set before falling in three.

  • which tournement was this in?

  • This match was the finals of the 2008 ITA Northwest Regional.

  • i like the kick serve at :25

  • just listen to the sound of the ball...and this is not even indoors.......
