"In Yemen, which is entirely a Muslim country, I asked one of the rich people to build a Masjid [a mosque] there. People needed a place to pray, I said to him; they are all Muslim brothers and sisters. They need to have a place where they can meet God." ~ apostate Mother Teresa
What a horrible, miserable person. Not only did Mother Teresa bask in the suffering of dying children, but she was responsible for many of their deaths, which could have been prevented if this poor excuse of a woman hadn't been a true representative of the repulsive teachings of the Catholic Church. As it turns out, the old bag conned her own church as well as all others, because she secretly was an Atheist, which makes her a hypocrite as well. Proves the claim that religion poisons everything!
I greatly admire Mother Teresa...I think the reason so many people try to misjudge her, or bash her name, is quite simply, she truly was a Christian. She went out and did what the Bible tells us to do. By todays standards, that may cause people to call her a saint. Frankly, I think she was simply a Christian, loving God and loving people. What would happen if every person who claims to be a Christian simply lived it out? ..how different would this world be?
why was she special? She opened up a building so people can come in and die on the floor in terrible conditions. She seems like she meant well, but is just an ignorant woman who works for an ignorant organisation.
The real heros are the doctors and nurses who are helping to cure and to ease the suffering for people all over the world in legitimate charities. They're doing it, not to become enlightened, not to get a place in heaven...
In a drawer . Because mother t is the most compeling evadence for the exsitance of some god. It makes more scientific sence to think that she was made by some god and sent hear than to try and comprehend how some one like her could posibly be a product of the human race.
@LeoArif1 Because Mother Teresa's public image is very different from reality. Most of the donated money was spent for pushing religious beliefs, building convents and so on, not for humanitarian purposes. The hospice in Calcutta was as primitive when she died as it always had been. Western doctors and volunteers visiting were disgusted by it – people were dying of diseases that could have been easily treated but the money was spent elsewhere.
@LeoArif1 part 2... Her view of poverty and sickness was twisted, somehow she believed that suffering is good or beautiful (Catholic doctrine about redemption of the soul through suffering) so getting rid of suffering was not a priority. She always refused to publish any audit how the money was spent, any honest humanitarian organisation would publish that.
@LeoArif1 part 3.. Mother Teresa claimed not to be interested in politics, but still every time she had a chance she used her position to push for her personal politics, which could be described as the most extreme interpretation of Catholic doctrine, religious fundamentalism. She spent her life opposing the strongest known cure for poverty, which is the empowerment of women and the emancipation of them from a livestock version of compulsory reproduction.
If we follow the advice of Mother Teresa, we will all be the better for it, and so will the world. She was a beautiful nun who reflected the Light of Christ within her.
I am a Catholic to the core. To all Catholics out there, I would like to quote from one of former Hamas terrorists (Walid Shoebat) turned Christian who quoted from the Bible what Christ said." Remember, I am sending you like a sheep among wolves". He concluded that if there are no wolves in your life, then your are not His sheep. So, my take is this; as you surf the internet you will see wolves and sheep. Stay with the sheep and keep away from the wolves.
Hi all :D I am a catholic and I always respected Mother Teresa for doing what she could and reaching out. However I just watched a Christopher Hitchins critique on her and feel deflated. Has anyone else watched this, and if so, I would like to hear your thoughts.

My favourite quote of her's was when she first met Pope John Paul and she said with so much humility and love " Is that your ceremonial mitre under your cassock, or are you just pleased to see me ?"
Some saints was Catholics, some Orthodox, some Adventists... many other was Induists (like Ghandi), some other Atheists! So what? I am an orthodox and i love muslims the same, catholics the same etc. We must take lessons from persons like Mother Teressa or monk Paisios or any other person that has made the willing of God, action! Love is the key! Let's use it!

I am not catholic and yet., Mother Theresa is one of my idols so to speak. I wish I could have at least 10% of her Spirit to love others the way she did. She was one of the greatest Human Beings have ever walked on this Earth. What she did and what she represents goes way beyond any Church or Denomination which personally I don't believe in. Most of religious people do nothing to change the world, but she didn't speak a lot about it... She just did it. She, Madonna, Oprah and Janet rocks!!!

There is much to be done, if only each good person did SOMEthing to help.
There is no way for me to know if she knew. She died in 1997 and the scandal broke in 2002. She loved children, born and unborn, and rallied to their defense. I'm sure she would have been heart-broken, for both the children and the priests that were involved. She was a humble woman of simple faith.....not politics.... who tried to follow Jesus in a manner much like St. Francis.....to embrace poverty and simplicity, and care for those in need, giving them dignity, love, and respect.

MNOWAT - Good comment, we are blessed to be Catholics. Other so called "Christians" love to put us down focusing on every negativity they can think of. But I never hear of Catholics putting protestants down. Some Protestants however, don't follow their Bibles - Jesus said "Judge not, lest you yourselves be judged". But Catholics are Christian. We follow Christ. Just a alittle different route from other Christains. But I do admitt a lot of other Christain religions hate Catholics. Wheres the love?

You do not have the spirit or grace to understand. You are of the world. Us Christians are no longer of this world. If you will not hear the truth, then no one can tell you.
The eyes of the world see no further than this life, but the eyes of the Christian see into eternity.
She gave her life to Jesus Christ by serving less fortunate people giving them something to eat, giving them love, giving them hope, caring for them. By the way PSYCHLITE have you done these kind of works?

It quite sad indeed. Mother Teresa didnt believe in spreading the gospel of Christ.
She said that every religion was saved, as long as they believed.
She had the opportunity to save so many souls, but she put her faith in baptism and the good works,
I hope she was saved before she died.

You do not have the spirit or grace to understand. You are of the world. Us Christians are no longer of this world. If you will not hear the truth, then no one can tell you.
The eyes of the world see no further than this life, but the eyes of the Christian see into eternity.

Atheist?
She gave her life to Jesus Christ by serving less fortunate people giving them something to eat, giving them love, giving them hope, caring for them. By the way PSYCHLITE have you done these kind of works?
