I recently bought MW1 (Steam holidays ftw!) And it's pretty good (although punkbuster refuses to cooperate, so campaign-only for me). I think people are pissed more at the seiries abandoning all pretenses, and selling out, than at the game itself.

@evilgamers1 yes... the engine does matter, it has limitations to it because of it's age, having played MW3 on the PC I can tell you, the graphics are fairly bad for todays standard (the PC version being a port from the console), low res textures, flakey movement animations and low comparative polygon count. You have to remember as well, that the engine they're been using for the last 5 years, is in fact a heavily modified Tech 3 engine, i.e. the same engine that quake 3 ran on

OK... apart from it being a little slow, what is so bad about the movie. Seriously. It's nothing short of what it set out to be as an old school alien invasion and apocalyptic movie. All-star casting, though, I didn't really like how Pullman acted as the president for the first half of the movie.
