  • is this safe? too much unecouraging comments i see

  • I don't know about this. I read this was a scam. Keeping 100 percent royalties and 100 percent rights. Any self-publisher would at least take some percentage of the royalties else how else would they make profit?

  • @lilarj97 We're happy to help -- 100% royalties is not synonymous with 100% of the retail price. When publishers mention "royalties" they mean the net profit a book earns (after production costs and trade discounts). So when most traditional publishers pay 5-10% royalties, they are paying 5-10% of the net profit the book earns. Many POD self-publishers pay between 20-50% net profit and Outskirts Press pays 100%. Visit our website for more information or to start publishing today.

  • 334 people have never been screwed over by a publisher before...

  • So is this real? Can it really help?

  • Take a look at the early comments on this video. Almost every user is first name/last name/4-digit year. I was reading through the comments and started to notice this, and thought it was odd. Most of those users have closed their accounts, too.

This company created usernames to comment their own video and give fake "Outskirts did a great job!" testimonials to hook people in. Shady. Not the kind of company that I would trust with my book.

I bet this comment gets flagged and removed. ;)

  • @MixieDelRosa You're right, a "You Tube Marketing Company" created those first comments to demonstrate how they could "help" us. You'll notice that was years ago. All the recent comments, including yours, are legitimate, as are all our satisfied author testimonials on our website. Check them out.

  • @MixieDelRosa What a stupid cunt you are.

  • @Patrick112391 You can jump start your publishing process on our website at Outskirts Press by clicking on the large blue Get Published button. We look forward to working with you.

  • @outskirtspress i have a question. if i get a book published will i have to pay for each book that some one wants to order or will they order it through you and you guys send it to the buyer? how does that work?

  • @DeonJTv When someone orders your book from all the sales channels where your book will be available, like Amazon or Barnes & Noble's website, for example, we take care of those orders for you. This is one of the major benefits of publishing with Outskirts Press - no heavy lifting!

  • Writers Showcase: A Great Resource for ALL Writers!

  • All right this looks awesome!! Now how much is it?

  • @Booksareepic There are a variety of package levels to choose from, and during our 20% 4th of July discount promotion, this is certainly the best time of the year to start publishing. You can get the details of the promotion and the necessary promotion code on our website at outskirts press dot com.

  • can you publish manga?

  • @Yineeundead16 Our full-color publishing service is available to review on our website by clicking on the Publishing Tab and then looking at the Pearl service.

We look forward to working with you.

  • Ok, im 10 and i wrote a book in ACCESS,will you please publish it?????

  • You should read the writings of Andrew Bemis, the writer of the indie film I produced, called Black Light! He's a literal genious. Black Light is a very intelligent film. We shot the whole thing in two weeks! Check it out!

  • The male and female brain & skeleton (the pelvic girdle is used to establish the gender of human remains) are markedly different. There's no changing that. One can only impersonate the opposing gender with the aid of surgery and daily jabs of synthetic hormones. Doctors who ingratiate a patient's self-loathing tendencies through radical means (mutilation & blood-intoxicants) violate their sacred Hippocratic Oath: "Physician do no harm."

  • I don't know how reliable this is. Definately has some promise, but I think working with a publishing company would be easier

  • yes, having to write more than three drafts is often the case. However, i had done a major amount of work on the book before I had started the actual draft process.

  • yesh just like I thought, any idiot can get published, nothing special about that 5 yr old publishing 2 books full of dumb ass kids drawings that I did at her age as well. I guess if u have enough money u can get anything published.

  • @Puddycat11385 If you could have your book published, even if it were a simple company like this, wouldn't you? So that even one person could read what you put so much effort and thought into? I don't know about you. But one person reading ANY of my books would drive me into an over-encumbering bliss unparalleled by any other in this universe.

  • They used the theme to The Sting for their self-publishing commercial. How apt.

  • It's Scott Joplin's The Entertainer

  • I'm so going to use this once I finish my book, and whats the name of that song?

  • @TheIronweasle It's Scott Joplin's The Entertainer.

  • how much of the marketing, advertisement, does outskirt press have in dealing

with book sales...? the gold package? I'm 80 pages into a project that I want

published...(too scared to check my e-mail from you guys!! my PC is

has been freezing/ shuttin down on me lately...needs new fan, sry)

  • I bet it costs alot

  • you can write a book, you just can't stop and nitpick your work. otherwise you'll never be happy! the first draft is just there to figure out what in the world you want and don't want. the second draft then concretes what you like, and then a thrid will fix everything up!

  • @Wouldntyou98 you usually have to write more than 3 drafts

  • @Deliathin Yes, you can learn more details about Outskirts Press at our website and if you register for a free Author's Center account (all we need is your email address) we'll send you lots of free information, including 2 free publishing guide e-books.. And you can contact us at any time with questions.

  • @terrydorn01 As I think about signing up with them, could I ask what the nature of YOUR complaint was that they ignored?

  • @SCGATOR2001 We did not ignore Mr. Dorn. He simply didn't like our answer. He was unhappy with the sales volume of his book. We even offered him additional suggestions and tactics he could pursue to improve his book sales. Ironically, if he spent as much energy on his own book marketing as he does "bad mouthing" his publishing experience, he would be satisifed with his results. He has a beautiful book. Now he just needs to market it.
