Is there anyone out there that can remeber Grandpappy Campbell doing a poem on his tv show in Knoxville, called If You Go First And I Remain? He did read this poem with the song in the background called Beyond The Sunset. I'll never forget, he had a film showing behind him showing an old lady walking down an old dirt road. It was very moving.

Oh Lordy...that's my dad...Smoky White on the fiddle and singing lead and our dear friend Luke Brandon on the guitar and singing baritone...and of course Archie singing tenor.....and I believe Dad got that droning sound with double stops on the fiddle...! At any rate...he covered 2 stings with one finger to get those sounds...! Luke is the only one remaining now...! How I miss those guys...! Donna (Smoky's oldest daughter) -for- "Sisters of the Silver Sage"

I recognized the other two great musicians on the video, Smoky White on fiddle and Luke Brandon on guitar. I had the pleasure of playing music with the two of them occasionally back through the years. Luke is still around playing great music. This is a wonderful video, thanks for sharing. Tony

So unique! Archie Campbell looks like someone's dad at a high school talent show! That's downhome, alright!
